CHAPTER CLOSED : THE END OF AN adVENTURE

APRIL 30, 2024 - FINAL BUSINESS VENTURE PITCHING

The day finally came! The day we all have been anticipating and preparing for. Months and months of hard work and team work had led to this very moment. At last, we made it to the final pitching for our business venture!

The day of the final pitching was really filled with mixed emotions. I was very excited and glad that we were able to reach the culminating stage of our entrepreneurial mind journey. I have personally witnessed the development of our product, WeFetch. From a simple idea, it has now grown into a viable and tangible solution to a problem that a lot of Central Mindanao University constituents face on a daily basis. With that, I was very proud and thrilled to be able to formally present our business venture in front of professionals in the field of business. But at the same time, I also felt nervous and wary about what the panelist might say about our product. But all I know is that we did everything we can to prepare for the pitching and whatever happens, I know we did our best.

Although I was not assigned to present our business venture, I still felt the nerve being in front of the panelists. During the pitching, various thoughts came flashing inside my mind. “Have we considered everything we needed to consider?”. “Did we miss any significant details about our application?”. “What will the panelists say about our business venture?”. Despite all these, I put my trust in the capabilities of my team to push through the pitching. We are very grateful for the valuable insights of the panelists. Their opinions and suggestions were really helpful in improving our business venture and we are sure to apply them in the future. The final pitching of our business venture was a pivotal moment that encapsulated months of hard work, learning, and growth. It was an opportunity to showcase our vision and potential while also receiving invaluable insights from experts to propel us forward. With that, we are very thankful that we finally conquered it. We couldn’t have done it without the cooperation and effort of everyone on the team.

MAY 08, 2024 - LECTURE SERIES

When I heard that there was going to be a lecture series in our Entrepreneurial Mind subject, I didn’t really felt excited. I thought it was just going to be a boring lecture with cliche topics about business that we are already familiar about. At first, I didn’t really comprehend the significance of such an event, but as I tuned in to the program, I soon found it very interesting.

The lecture series was a very insightful event. With speakers from different discipline in the world of business, I learned diverse information and lessons about different sectors in business. The speakers really taught us how to become a successful business owners in the future and how to properly manage one. For that, we are very thankful for the time and expertise that the guest speakers have shared to us.

MY TAKEAWAYS IN THE ENTREPRENEURIAL MIND JOURNEY

The entrepreneurial mind subject was truly a roller coaster journey and adventure. There were times where we were challenged psychologically, to cite an example, the rejection therapy activity. Our emotional capacity and patience were also put to the test with the diverse tasks that we needed to accomplish, which sometimes caused conflicts and misunderstanding within the group. There were times where we would have to work restless nights just to prepare and finish our presentations and assigned tasks, which challenged us physically. However at the end of the day, I have come to realize that all these challenges were there to prepare us to the real world. They were set there for us to experience what it really takes to become a entrepreneur. One cannot become a successful entrepreneur if they are afraid of risks and rejections; if they do not know how to work in a team and understand their members; if they are not mentally and physically prepare to embark in the exhausting and draining journey of starting and managing a business. I have truly learned a lot in this subject that I know I can apply in my daily life. We are very thankful for this experience and opportunity to explore and develop ourselves not just as future entrepreneurs, but also holistically as individuals. Our desire to continue pursuing our entrepreneurial ambitions with utmost passion and determination has been strengthened by this amazing experience. Our chapter in this subject may have come to an end already, but it has definitely opened us up to new windows of self discovery, development and limitless possibilities.

A New Chapter has Emerged : The Journey Coming Into the Finals

MARCH 05, 2024 - BUSINESS VENTURE PITCHING

The journey in conceptualizing the WeFetch business venture has not been an easy path for the group. A lot of struggles and obstacles had to be faced and conquered. Despite all these, the team was still able to triumph and was one step closer in making their concept a reality. From a simple idea, to a viable solution to the mobility problem in Central Mindanao University that we are all too familiar with. After weeks and weeks of work and preparation, the group has finally reached a milestone which is the business venture proposal pitching.

Going into the pitching proposal was both a nerve-wracking but exciting experience for the team. It was daunting in the sense that we didn't have any idea what the panelist might think or say about our proposed concept and we were unsure if we have considered everything we needed to consider in our Business Model Canvas (BMC). But at the same time we were delighted to present the months of hardwork and time we have invested into this business venture and see it into fruition. During the actual pitching, we were able to gain valuable insights from our panelists that surely helped us improve our app's features and functions. Although the group would have hoped to be given more time to think and answer the questions thrown at them, we were still very thankful to the panelists who have given us some fresh perspectives and opinions about our app. After the pitching, the team were relieved their idea was not rejected and are sure to apply the comments and suggestions given to them.

APRIL 16, 2024 - PROMOTIONAL VIDEO FILMING

When the group were given the task to create a promotional video regarding their business venture, they immediately started to brainstorm the concept they are going to be making. In the end, the team decided to create a video where in the audience especially their target market which are the people in Central Mindanao University can relate to. After deciding the plot of the video, each group members were assigned their roles. Me, Michael, Raul, and Christian were chosen to be the actors. While Kiana was the director and Charimaine and Kristel were the script writers. Sam on the other hand was assigned to be the cinematographer as well as the video editor. The filming process generally went pretty well and we were able to wrap up all the scenes on the same day. Overall, it was a very productive day and it really highlighted the importance of teamwork and cooperation in a group. After filming, Sam did the editing with the help of Kiana as well as the insights of other members. I was very glad seeing how the video turned out, I believe it really encapsulated the significance and practical use of our app.

APRIL 22, 2024 - INTERVIEWS, INTERVIEWS, INTERVIEWS

To gain additional insights and suggestions for our app, we interviewed at least ten (10) individuals in Central Mindanao University. To make the process more efficient and less time consuming, the team decided to divide the task by pairs. Each pair had to interview 2-3 individuals around the campus and ask them about their opinions, expectations, and recommendations about the WeFetch app. I was lucky enough to be paired with Kristel, and together we were able to conduct the interviews rather smoothly. As it turns out, the major concerns that were raised during the interviews were mostly about the security features and user interface of the app. All of these queries where promptly answered by interviewers to give the interviewees more details about the app. The interviews were really a great learning experience for the team as we were able to obtain meaningful information from our target market's point-of-view. Through their responses, the group were able to identify and asses the aspects in their business venture that need to be improved and taken into consideration in the future.
