Name: Unknown, called Grimm in un-death
Breed: Unknown, assumed to be a shepherd/lab mix in life
Born: 1978
Died: 1984
Appearance: black misty afterimage of a dog, bright white eyes like headlights that pierce through fog, sometimes a recognizable breed.
Hauntings began September 1984 and have continued to present day.
Grimm was born in 1978 and adopted by a loving family from a shelter as a pup. His owner and best friend was the youngest child in the household, who more then anyone treated the dog like an equal family member. He was fiercely protective to his family and followed his owner nearly everywhere he could, even breaking out of the yard to follow him to school on occasion.
Grimm’s owner was bullied at school quite a bit, and on one occasion had witnessed his owner being beaten by some classmates after classes let out. Grimm stepped in, shielding his owner from the blows struck by the other children. He barked wildly, but never attacked, eventually fending them off with his fierce demeanor. He was injured in the encounter and as a result walked with a limp for the rest of his life.
A few weeks after Grimm was returned from the vet, he was taken from his home in the dead of night by the very attackers that had injured him the weeks prior. He was bound so he couldn’t bark, then driven to a remote area at the edge of town. He was tied down to a railroad spike, stoned and beaten. The distant roar of an engine and the faint howl of a horn echoed though the mist, and the attacks stopped. One sharp, final cry rang out over the twisted metal sounds, and then there was silence. His body was taken further out, hidden in a crevasse of an old oak tree by a crossroad between two cities, and was left there. No one other then the attackers knew the fate of the dog, and his life became a distant, sorrowful memory.
In death, Grimm’s vengeful spirit manifested into a shadow of his former self, a hazy, misty, black dog. He no longer held a form that resembled his breed, but rather became a shapeless nightmare resembling the afterimage of a dog.
On occasion, when vehicles would pass by the tree, his form would become more recognizable and stable, taking the shape of more identifiable breeds. This manifestation was the result of guilt and anger his spirit latched on to from passersby that has violently abused other dogs. Grimm essentially became the shadow of that dog’s pain and suffering. Tragically after all this time, he has acquired many different forms.
Grimm now haunts the crossroad, and if an animal abuser is unlucky enough to cross his path his spirit will seek out and attack or kill the individual, tricking them into thinking they hit an injured dog or driving them off the side of the road. No bodies have ever been found.

(On locating Dragonstone in Zumaia, a small town in the Basque Country region of northern Spain) Geologists from all over the world will come and study it. There’s so much power and strength in the very structure of the rock, so it felt like an appropriate place to house Dragonstone. – Deborah Riley
