DSS needs More options

Helldivers! I come today to propose an idea that should spread. We all know the DSS by now yes? The mighty battle station of democracy that is used to help us collect the community on target worlds and unleash the might of super earth resources. Well I notice 2 resources going to waste that are not used in the DSS.

As it stands, the Eagles use common, the 380 uses rares and the Blockade uses Requisition slips. Now not counting super credits which are the premium currency, that still leaves Warbond Medals and Super samples as unused, having no Sinks to bleed off excess once all the things that are tied to those things are used up. As someone who plays regularly i often end up sitting with 250/250 warbond medals for months at a time between new warbond releases. Similarly until a tier 6 upgrade package is released for the super destroyers, I have absolutely nothing to spend samples on except the DSS, so why is it only 2 of the 3 sample times are usable for it?

Now I'm not going to claim I know what these two currencies should be used for. Off hand the 3 powers we have are fairly well balanced and helpful. However it does feel like the lack of use of the other 2 easily renewable resources is a waste of potential. Something that feels like it should be rectified, maybe with an MO based around upgrading the DSS with resources from either the illuminate or the bots.

Do I have suggestions? Oh definitely. For super samples there are only 2 things i logically think could help. First, is that it doesn't have a unique power but that donating boosts the other 3 (to 4) powers all at once. Speeding up the process of using the DSS and it's abilities. so you can donate and all other powers would get a proportional amount of boost. I'd also assume the max would be 25 to fit the pattern of 75-50-25 with samples. The other option is some kind of booster to Orbital Lasers. Given that the Orbital laser is pretty much the premier field clearing stratagem i feel like it would make the most sense compared to the Rare sample 380.

As for warbonds, well similar to the supers the idea would be a booster to the other 3, my idea being warbond medals being used to speed up recovery times. After all some times the time it takes for those boosters to start being donated to again can be crippling during MOs. So it would make sense for it to be used to buy the resources needed to speed up the DSS in times of struggle. If you wanted a traditional boost, then i guess the natural choice would be to make it a booster like Req-slips. Maybe even like make it 2, the More Health and More stamina boosters both being active. timed right that would give diver teams up to 7 boosters total which could really see a lot of playing around with booster types if the 3 most basic and helpful boosters don't need to be accounted for. Obviously the max would be 250 like how req-slips can be donated at the max amount you can hold for them.

Again this is all just speculation and I am sure arrowhead could pick much better more logical choices then I can but i still feel like we should bring the idea to the rest of the community and too arrowhead to add these 2 missing resources to teh DSS and it's list of things it can do through community work together.

Bug Divers to veld!

I notice a ton of you moving to Nublaria I but not enough of you are there to ever start making a meaningful dent. You're producing only 1.3% liberation vs 2.5% resistance. However even with teh meager offering veld is almost matching the resistance level, if all of you moved to veld you could start seeing meaningful liberation progress and even finish liberating the Orion sector. I implore all divers to actually vote the DSS to veld even if just for one cycle just to convince the bug divers to move to Veld to start making meaningful liberation efforts.

Bug Diver problem: Not as bad as You think. (Still not good)

So Obviously ever sense Super earth won there's been a massive uptick in "Man bugdivers didn't do shiiiiiiii" Memes. Which is definitely fair but I want to bring a bit of light to the actual truth of the situation. I've been doing "Eyeball math" basically i have been comparing what i saw pre victory to post victory in active player counts on both fronts. Terrek and Gaellivare have been big helps in this regard As they concentrated the bulk of both front's populations.

As I can tell, Somewhere between 3-6% of all Bot divers, just did not leave the bot front during the War for Super earth. However, Bug divers range between 15-20% of their player base just refusing to move from the front. Pre victory peaks on the bot front (not counting the DSS which i am so glad i was wrong about ignoring if you've seen my previous post) was somewhere around, 5,000? scattered around all the potential worlds but it was not a lot. However the Bug front was famously 10k in one sector during the height of pre-victory conflict. Honestly i counted around 12-15k across all bug front sectors at peak. Now? Bot front peaks between 50-60K most on Gaellivare and the Bug front peaked around 60-75k most on Terrek Though it seems Azterra is the next major target to start seeing serious liberation efforts. What this does mean is that Most Bug Divers stood shoulder to shoulder with us on super earth fighting the Illuminate back with every ounce of vigor they could muster. However the Bug front is home to the biggest contingent of divers who do not care about story and simply want to play the game not realizing how catastrophic this mentality can be for the community. They do not realize that super earth falling could not only cause all of us significant harm in available resources and new equipment as the game is story-driven live-service. But it could also of lead to a total restart of the story if it went badly. Noone is completely sure what the actual bad-ending could of been like but I don't think they realize that noone not even them Truly wants to find out what a bad outcome for some of these Major Orders we've completed would really mean for the health of the game and community. So to the Many Bug divers who stood with us on Super earth shoulder to shoulder defending our home protecting our SEAF and fighting the good fight. I salute you. You are getting shit on for a Minority of your faction-base who refuse to do anything but stomp on bugs. It's not fair that 80-85% of you are getting a raw deal cause of a large looking but ultimately small section of your section of the community. However I think you guys need to start working on instilling more community loyalty into these dedicated bug stompers because they could prove to be a sore spot for a lot of us in the long run.

Forget the DSS!

Helldivers! Do not get distracted, superearth is making a mistake calling on us to try and get teh DSS Running right now! We need to focus on super earth. the Margin for error in these orders is small! We only completed the first super earth defense MO with 50 minutes to spare, last night the margin for error on the second was all of 3 hours! I understand we want to make up for our mistake pushing the DSS into a battle that it could not win but we cannot allow ourselves to be divided and distracted! Super earth is more important then any single asset even the DSS! Get back to Equality at sea and York Superior! -Intelligence officer Wolf of the 44th Recon Division
