i think the funniest thing ever is that pfizer never eveeeeeer gave up on illegally marketing bextra (a cox-2 inhibitor). once in 2009 for violation of the fdca n false claims act.

then, in 2010, the blue cross blue shield filed a lawsuit against pfizer bc guess what? THEY WERE ILLEGALLY MARKETING BEXTRA AGAIN, THROUGH THE USE OF KICKBACKS. trying to, in their own words, "turn physicians into pr reps."

now, pfizer wasn't charged (bc that'd mean troubles with medicaid and medicare, which prosecutors fear would cause an issue with the economy; deeming pfizer too big to fail.) a subsidiary, of a subsidiary, of a subsidiary of pfizer (pharmacia & upjohn) pharmacia & upjohn co inc., despite not selling a single pill, got excluded from medicare and medicaid instead of pfizer. ^__^

all the while pfizer said "uhuhuhmhmhmh... i learned my lesson" Did You Not Learn It The First Time Around. they did settle the 2010 case for like, 200 mil.

anyways here a quote of a quote from a cnn news article regarding this entire situation, that really stuck with me:
