I think honestly that it's time to face the music. Idk why but I'm actually very burned out on Dragon Age? I've been trying to deny it because I've been in this rpc for so long and don't want to leave it, but the passion I had for DA even just a year or two ago is gone. I still enjoy it and I'm definitely gonna play the new game when it's out and I can get my hands on it, but it does not EXCITE me the way it used to and I do not find myself eager to burrow into the lore anymore. Maybe I'll end up eating my words in the future — who knows? But, I really think I need to call it for now. Anyone not already following me on other blogs can find me at:

IF SHE HAD ASKED THAT same question while the blood of Ostagar was still wet on their boots, Alistair would have found it more likely that Loghain would simply have them cut down on some back road and forgotten with the rest of the refuse. He'd certainly tried that approach — or others had on his coin. Yet, they survived, and as they gathered more allies, they became a threat to more than just the Horde. Nothing more Fereldan than that, he thought sardonically, not having the sense to die when some wanker on a throne ordered you to.

The thought set a wry smile on his lips, and he looked sideways at Ziphrane, hands paused in the supplies he'd been sorting. ❝Why? Planning something I should know about?❞

Then a flash of disgust sprinted over his face as he fished out a rotten apple core from the bottom of his pack. Maker, he needed to clean this out more often. He threw it out into the bushes and waved his hand in the air to fling off any lingering bits. Ugh, yeah, that smell would haunt his fingertips.

I'd say we can't drag each other into anything worse than we've already been through, but that's tempting Falon'din's crook.❞ He tried to keep his tone light, but like all the world these days, darkness crept into his tone. He couldn't say he was proud of the way all their "successes" had come about. He held Duncan's words — that Wardens did whatever was necessary to stop a Blight — close as his skin, but too many of his decisions felt like mistakes rather than necessities.

He was grinding his teeth again. He closed his eyes and stretched his neck to hide the habit. It wasn't very effective. Didn't stop him from trying.

I do find it interesting that Wardens (especially but not exclusively Couslands) have been the PCs to survive the massive lull the DA rpc has experienced. Hawkes are almost non-existent. Inquisitors are almost non-existent. But, I feel like I see a respectable amount of Wardens kicking around. I am here for it and fascinated by it.

He would have to do without the shield while it mended. Wynne had done a fine job patching them up, but it was unwise to tap out her mana pool when a quick spell might yet make the difference between life and death. Their lyrium reserves were a matter of concern as well. More for his sake than Wynne's.

He really had tried to break his lyrium leash when Duncan recruited him, but it wasn't like blowing out a candle. If it was, he wagered more would do it — and he wagered the Grand Cleric wouldn't have broken Chantry law to dose him prematurely. His future as a templar hadn't been that promising, not least of all because he was unwilling. It was all about control. He wanted nothing to do with the Chantry and their attack mongrels. But, a stubborn voice reminded him they needed every advantage they could get against the Blight, and the abilities were useful. It was just hard to tell sometimes if that voice was his.

Regardless, it made their dwindling stores a problem. Even if they hit on a lyrium deposit here in the Deep Roads, they had no way of mining or refining it. He felt he'd done a good job hiding his . . . circumstances from the rest of the party, but Wynne kept a hawklike eye on him. It would be impossible to maintain the ruse down here for much longer.

He pressed the heels of his hands into his eyes. Maybe if he did it hard enough, he could push this relentless migraine out the back of his skull. They had to find Branka soon before worse symptoms surfaced.

But, it's a good thing we were. It brought down the wall behind us. Wynne cast a barrier at the last moment. That's the only reason we weren't crushed. I just hope the darkspawn weren't so fortune. Either way, we're not in danger of being gutted by them. Not those ones anyway.❞

He passed her a waterskin. Yet another resource they had to be careful about, but if there was ever a moment for a sip, it was now. He was almost tempted to try whatever dragon piss Oghren was guzzling. Almost. ❝I want us on the move as soon as possible. We'll have to make camp but not here.❞

As much as I love the mod to give Al Warden armor in DA:O, it makes perfect sense he doesn't have it. The Fereldan chapter of the order was small and underfunded with a tenuous foothold and few allies. They didn't have the resources for silverite. Honestly I'll even believe that they didn't have uniforms. Rather it seems likely they wore whatever gear they'd brought with them or the best they could afford and slapped a Warden insignia on it. After Awakening when those silverite mines are discovered, yeah they're definitely wearing the fancy silverite gear. Before then, though? Nah
