Kalaripayattu is a very famous martial art that descends from southern India. The very word Kalari denotes a martial feat or a battlefield. The creator of this primitive art is Shiva, Agastya or Parshuram according to mythology. This is not an Olympic sport, but it deals with the practice in the battlefields.
