If you’re a liberal and/or Democrat who is upset that “Trump didn’t get congressional approval” to bomb Iran, I fear you’ve lost the plot. Who cares if he didn’t follow procedure?? Focus on the real issue which is fact that he entered a war with Iran. Stop getting caught up in procedures and rules and grow some fucking empathy. Too many of you are more concerned with ‘following the rules’ than recognizing war crimes and the implications of this bombing. People are getting killed, okay? Learn to humanize them instead of your stupid ‘gotcha’ moment.

that post that's like "what's wrong with joining the army to kill people ain't that the point" always reminds me of how a few years into the iraq war this volunteer american soldier gave an interview to the washington post where he said exactly that and candidly confessed to having already killed someone for fun but being disappointed by how easy and unexciting he felt it was, and a month later he planned and participated in a gang rape and massacre of a little girl and her family. average poor dumb kid from little old usa just trying to afford college

It’s pride month: Help a homeless trans woman survive!

Making an update after this post- Charlotte is a trans woman with diabetes and cancer trying to survive while chronically homeless. She needs $450 to renew her weekly motel room by June 25, and she will likely need to replace her phone soon ($80). This is a chunk of money but if 50+ people reblog this and send $10, that is enough. Please share and help if you can!

it's more useful to understand imperialism as the world system characteristic of the highest stage of capitalism, rather than simply a particular policy or action of a given state that can be understood in isolation. these actions and policies are shaped by the state's relationship to the imperialist world system and its class character, and may reinforce or undermine it, but imperialism isn't as useful a concept if reduced to that alone in isolation. awawa

Like I mean sure often trans men are included in lesbian spaces when trans women aren't because they don't see trans men as men right. I'd absolutely say that's the more common situation. but I really think it'd be nice if people could acknowledge the other thing here which is that plenty of people are more than willing to accept any "complicated relationship to lesbianism" and tme gender and sexual identity under the sun but not trans women. like sometimes people are just transmisogynistic actually, that's not super incompatible with supporting other groups of trans people.

I mean hell even other trans people act like that and willingly go along with "unique afab solidarity" type shit, plenty of people willingly play into it because it benefits them. being shocked that sometimes people are accepting about one thing while also being transmisogynists just makes you kinda an unhelpful ally tbh and conveniently obfuscates your relationship to "victimhood" in this situation.

the whole "we're the real victims here because maybe we're not being entirely respected in the space you are almost always categorically barred from" thing is just old at this point.
