Living the performer's dream and loving every second of it. So blessed to be where I am, thankful to those whom I have met, and anxious and hopeful for the future :)

Inti Punku, also known as “The Sun Gate” or “Portal Del Sol”, is the northernmost point of the Machu Picchu mountain and a physically demanding trek due to its constant steep and at times nearly vertical incline with nothing but a very (very) steep drop inches from where you stand. They say the trek takes 4 hours to complete, but I only had a bit over an hour so I did it in that time. Here I sit at the top of Inti Punku, approximately 3,000 meters (9,842 feet) above sea level. If the clouds weren’t there you’d see Machu Picchu as a tiny speck in the distance. On determined times of the year, the sun shines through Inti Punka and illuminates Machu Picchu below. #LearnWithKY (at Inti Punku)

(Post 4) Although known locally, Machu Picchu was not known to the Spanish during the colonial period and remained unknown to the outside world until American historian Hiram Bingham brought it to international attention in 1911. (at Machupicchu, Cusco, Peru)

(Post 3) Getting comfortable at Machu Picchu’s main gate ⛩ The Incas built the estate around 1450 but abandoned it a century later at the time of the Spanish Conquest. #LearnWithKY (at Machupicchu, Cusco, Peru)

(Post 2) Huayna Picchu (behind me) is a mountain in Peru around which the Urubamba River bends. It rises over Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas. The Incas built a trail up the side of the Huayna Picchu and built temples and terraces on its top. The peak of Huayna Picchu is 2,693 metres (8,835 ft) above sea level. Ever since a tourist fell off it’s peak last year while taking a selfie (and died) only 200 people are allowed to climb it a day and you must reserve a spot at least 3 months in advanced to do so. #LearnWithKY (at Huayna Picchu, Peru)

I got kicked out of this sacred Inca site a few minutes after taking this pic... I guess “guns” aren’t allowed. #IReallyDidThough (at Ollantaytambo)

(Post #1) *To see the Catacombs under this church scroll down in my posts to just a few days ago* The Convent of Santo Domingo in Cusco was founded on the foundation of the famous "Inti Court" on the year 1534. The current church and convent of Santo Domingo are built on the Temple of the Sun and the Qorikancha respectively. The Catholic temple has been erected on the same temple as the Inca, to demonstrate the destruction and suppression of the Incas. Both the church and the convent were built on the structure of Koricancha (site of gold), the main Inca temple (dedicated to the worship of the sun) and whose walls, according to the chroniclers, were plated with sheets of gold. To this day you will see literally tons upon tons of gold and silver if you walk through the building, which are owned by the Catholic Church. #LearnWithKY (at Qoricancha - Temple of the Sun, and Convento De Santo Domingo)

(Post #3..multiple pics) Chinchero is located 19 miles from the city of Cusco. It is believed that the constructions of Chinchero were left by the Incas during the reign of Tupac Inca Yupanqui in the year 1480 as an act of reciprocity. The Incas suffered at the hands of the Spaniards, who brought Catholicism along with them. Here you can see the presence of a Catholic church, built around 1550, which would have likely otherwise been a Temple of The Sun. #LearnWithKY (at Chinchero, Cusco, Peru)
