I choose Rob Kardashian selfie because the image stood out for me while searching for a celebrity selfie. I imaged the photo by changing the pose of my head, wore a black shirt, my hairstyle, sat on the side of a sofa and had to change the lighting to the left side of my head. Plus, I had to use a black and white filter. For the background, I couldn’t find the correct things to mimic the photo and the lighting wasn’t strong enough. Also, I had to tilt the phone a bit to make them look like.

If Karl Marx Was Alive
Karl Marx political theory about equality should be applied today. Marx argues about how should the community works which is relevant to our use of social media. If Karl Marx was alive today, he would explain how the capitalist system is related to Instagram and explains how most people in our society are navigated to become others to feel good about themselves. Firstly, Marx will show how most people are ruled by others in order to be part of the community. Plus, Marx comments would be the same as in 1880’s because people do not know who put these rules on Instagram or on social media. Back in the 1880’s rules are created by many people as shown in the pyramid. For example, Megan posted two photos on Instagram. The first photo Megan showing her breasts and the other was a photo of a drawing. The drawing was about two couples having sex. Instagram took down the account because Megan showed her breasts. Marx would be surprised how our society is being ruled by social media because no one knows who is ruling us. Plus, other apps or websites on social media have similar rules as Instagram. Secondly, most people on social media try to become someone. Most people look to people who are famous on social media. For example, Mark follows a famous person on Instagram. As days past by Mark post images and videos on Instagram. Similar to the guy he follows to be like him and accepted by others. Marx theory as he explained his theory in the 1880’s people tends to the whole society. Which is similar to Marks behavior. Karl Marx would have a similar explanation on how our society is ruled today by social media.

Compare and Contrast
In Judith Golden 1975’s creation “untitled,” Golden created this painting for a cover magazine. Golden used paint to make parts of the paintings darker or lighter. It is similar to the way how most people use filters in social media and the poses that most people make. The only difference would be the way that today people use cameras, while back then in the 1970’s Golden used paint to make the painting darker on one side and brighter on the other. Firstly, the similarity between the way people use filters to change the images brightness and Golden using paint to have the same outcome as using filters. For example, Mike uses filters to make the image brighter. Golden wanted the same outcome, but with a different technique. Secondly, people mostly pose in each selfie they take, which is relative to Goldin’s painting pose of the lady in the painting. For example, Sam and Tom took a selfie together while tilting their heads to the left and grabbing their hair. This kind of action while taking a selfie is spread around the societies. Each pose can be different as Goldin’s painting. Goldin’s painting describes a lady tilting her head to the right and her right hand placed on her chin. Today, people use filters either to make the photo brighter or darker or colorful, but Golden had to use paint because this technology was not available back in the 1970’s. For example, Alex posted a black and white image on Instagram. Originally, this image was colorful.

Relation Between the Movie and Selfies
In Michael Powell’s (1960) film “Peeping Tom,” the movie relates to selfies because the main point of the movie is relevant to most people looking for the perfect lighting while taking selfies, Peeping Tom appertain to how some people are shy to show their selfies and others are scared of being ashamed since they are sharing them with the world. Firstly, the movie shows us how Mark Lewis tries to take a perfect shot when Lewis tries to kill his victims. Unfortunately, Lewis took the perfect scene while killing himself. Which is related to how most people try so hard to take the perfect selfie to post on social media. For example, Mike took a selfie while standing on a chair. Just to find the perfect lighting. Secondly, some people try not to take selfies because they feel shy since there are people judging them. Some people see how a part of our society still judge us on how others look. Which relates to the movie when Lewis tried to hide his films when Helen saw his other productions. Lewis Felt embarrassed to show his true self. For example, Tom posts a selfie of his new piercing but his friends say it does not suit him. Others realize how this part of our society does not change and stop posting stuff. Lastly, some people are ashamed to show who they really are because some people are afraid of how everyone would see them later. As Lewis tries to hide the shame he killed himself. As for Lewis case, it is different than real life. For example, Caleb was a disappointment to everyone when he took a selfie while smoking because he was the innocent guy and could never do these things. As for Lewis, the detectives did not suspect anything on him at first. It was a shock to find out he was a killer. Michael Powell’s movie is related to taking a selfie. It appertains to the main point of the movie, the judgment, and the embarrassment.

Photoshop
Editing a photo on Photoshop is a debatable issue because it could lead to a great outcome, but in some situations, it leaves an unpleasant impact or Photoshop is used without consent. Firstly, photos can be edited to leave a rectitude influence on the community. For example, using Photoshop to remove a cigarette out of the image and leaving it with a good meaning. This act would leave the image with a positive impression on the community and specifically kids. Most of the time kids are affected by these images. For instance, removing a whiskey bottle out of an image. This would leave a better impression for the kids and change the whole meaning of the image. Secondly, a lot of today's edited images are not trustworthy because they leave the whole community with a different aspect of what has happened. For instance, making the image of Mohammed Ali darker. The image has a different meaning since it has been darkened. Plus, the use of this type edits has spread around the internet in great numbers which are unfortunate. Today, photos are taking to be edited without approbation. For example, taking Lady's Gaga picture and making her legs look thin. This case is mostly used for marketing, which is a crime because the person has no benefits from it and there was no permission taken. These edits are used today in great numbers. Editing an image has integrity or an unpleasant impression based on the case, and these images are taken without an approval.

The Meaning of Taking Selfies
Today, taking a selfie is found ubiquitous, it’s like a spreading disease. All selfies have a message such as the sense of the backdrop image, the motivation for taking a selfie and the affection that is expressed through these images. Firstly, all of these images have a story to tell by looking at the background image. A picture can tell what is happening and where is the person. For instance, Mountain Rock High school is hosting a prom for the seniors. The expectations of having a lot of selfies are high because the seniors are trying to show the world that their high school is having a prom and how the place looks. Secondly, there are many reasons to take a selfie. Either it’s to show off or special events or playing around. For example, a couple of friends send each other a selfie with filters on it. On the other hand, most people take selfies to show which events they attended. It is a good thing to show the world what are you doing, but sometimes people do things just to show off. For example, taking a selfie with money. Lastly, all of these selfies have feelings that are shown on each electronic device. For example, a couple on a wedding are excited for getting married. Selfies around the internet are all expressed fake because people started to act. To show the world how they wanted to be seen. Which could pilot to health problems. No matter what we do, our societies will always try to rival to get attention. These selfies have a connotation, a reason for being captured and warmth.
