«patience»

Sufyan al-Thawrī رحمه الله said:
"Three things are from patience; that you don't speak of your pain, that you don't speak of your affliction, and that you don't praise yourself."

A very special gift
The following dua, lovingly passed down by my mother before her departure from this world, holds profound beauty and completeness. It's a treasure that has enriched my life, and I believe it can do the same for others. I invite you to embrace it in your daily prayers and share this gift with those dear to you. In doing so, kindly remember my mother, our family, and me in your blessed duas.
Jazakallahu Khairun ❤️🤲🏼
Supplication:
Transliteration:
Translation:
O Allah, help us, for indeed You are the best of helpers. O Allah, grant us success, for indeed You are the best of those who grant success. O Allah, forgive us, for indeed You are the best of forgivers. O Allah, have mercy on us, for indeed You are the most merciful. O Allah, provide for us, for indeed You are the best of providers. If a person wants to think about something and give it close consideration, he closes his eyes so that his sight does not steal the accuracy of his concentration. He is fearful for his thinking from his sight, so how about he who thinks about the Ummah while opening his sight to money or status?

Last Ten Nights of Ramaḍhān
'Aisha (رضي الله عنها) tells us:
"During the last ten nights of Ramaḍhān, the Prophet (ﷺ) would tighten his waist belt and spend the night in worship. He would also wake up his family."
She (رضي الله عنها) also narrated to us that:
“The Prophet (ﷺ) used to strive hard (in worship) during the last ten days of Ramaḍhān in a way that he did not strive at any other times.”
[Sahih Bukhari, (1920) | Sahih Muslim, (1175)]
The last ten nights of Ramaḍhān are better than the twenty before them combined, let alone other nights [of the year].
Every righteous deed that is great is even greater in these ten nights, and a few deeds therein are a lot in the scale.
Sh. Abdul Aziz al-Turayfi (حفظه الله)

I saw your post about having iftar alone and I just wanted to say it gets better. I reverted to Islam 2 years ago and I recently got married, I use to pray crying everyday asking Allah swt to bless me with a Muslim family and he did. I remember secretly fasting at home and feeling how you do, but I would go through all those emotions again because it is what makes me so grateful for the things I have now. “So endure patiently with beautiful patience” 💖
Thank you dear the beautiful advice and support, really puts things in perspective
I am very grateful for my own family for being supportive this Ramadan as an official Muslim. Circumstances would have differ a couple years ago...and I am ever so grateful to Allah how things have changed by his will. I trust whatever he has written for me, and accept it completely.

And Satan will say when the matter has been concluded, “Indeed, Allah had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I cannot be called to your aid, nor can you be called to my aid. Indeed, I deny your association of me [with Allah ] before. Indeed, for the wrongdoers is a painful punishment.”
[Surah Ibrahim Verse 22]

i imagine myself, sitting under the shade of palm trees,
my company is the prophets, we eat berries and sip tea
their shining eyes are on mine, as i recount my memories
i tell them of how grateful i am to have grown through their stories
i thank adam first, my father who sinned
but taught me to immediately turn my heart back to Him
i then thank nuh, the man who suffered but persisted
who preached 950 years, though his people resisted
i thank ibraheem, the khaleel, who did not break, did not bend
and through his search for truth, became known as Allah's friend
i thank ismail, the boy who put out his neck, as Allah had asked
and we celebrate his sincerity after every ramadan that we fast
i thank ya'qoob, whose sorrows turned both his eyes white
but through faith, Allah returned both his son and his sight
i thank yusuf, who was beaten and thrown in the well
but found patience even on the floor of his jail cell
i thank musa, who as a baby was put in a basket on the nile
a challenging life, but Allah guided him through each trial
i thank yunus, swallowed by a whale in the middle of a storm,
who had the humility to cry and admit when he was wrong
i thank dawud, the child who went to war, slingshot in hand
and stood up to tyranny better than any grown man
i thank suleiman, who dreamed big and asked for a kingdom like nobody else
and was allowed to hear and command the animals and jinn all by himself
i thank esa, who was born as a surprise to his mom
and while he grew and was plotted against, Allah saved him from harm
i thank muhammad, the final messenger and final prophet
whose legacy prevailed though many have tried to stop it
who suffered plenty of loss, but was never alone throughout his life
for Allah had guided him through every difficulty and every strife
and my heart swells as they ask for my story as well
their voices soothing me with each painful detail i tell
they laugh and cheer as i reach my final chapter
telling me they waited patiently in jannah for the moment i entered
and with tears in my eyes, i ask them how could this be
they say, you asked for Allah's reward, so jannah was His decree

Fun fact: I fasted Ramadan before I chose to become Muslim. I took it on as a dare to myself after I learned about Ramadan and fasting. "Not even water?" was my question too. No food during the day I could handle, but water? I joked "If I can fast the whole month maybe I'll become Muslim." Looks like God had a plan for me after all! That was over 20 years ago.
I know that people on the outside have zero idea how this beautiful month can be so beloved by so many people when it appears to be about deprivation. Sounds like self-torture to a person whose only regulation around food has been counting calories to try to lose weight or vowing not to drink alcohol until the weekend.
The culture we live in is not a culture of self-awareness or spiritual discipline. The idea that we sacrifice anything for the sake of God is long gone.
Spirituality is based on ideas, but rarely on action, commitment, or discipline.
I never realized the spiritual void in my life until I began to study Islam itself. Until I learned what it taught, and how beautiful and magnificent this religion truly is.
That door was opened to me by Ramadan itself.
I am extremely grateful for being shown Islam, a path that on my own I would never have even considered in a million years.
God brought the introduction of knowing HIm to me in ways I would never have imagined or even chosen.
But He is truly the Most-Loving, the Most-Merciful, and the Most-Gentle.
Ramadan Mubarak (Blessed Ramadan) to everyone.

🧬 Action’s to pursue from today:
Adding strength in our lives.
The Quran says, “. . . ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers and increase you in strength [added] to your strength.” [Quran 11:52]

Ibn al Jawzi رحمه الله said,
Whoever lacks patience and allows his desire to lead his mind has then made the follower be followed and the led a leader. That said, it is expected that everything he desires will return to him and that he will be harmed from where he expected to benefit, he will be saddened by that which he expected happiness to come from.
