I will have the machine moved to my second line forces within a few days. It is a temporary ride.
GALLEON'S GRAVEYARD TARCOMP PATCH NOTES
Fixed:
-Variable Range Targeting has been brought up to date with the driver limitations in place. There will be issues. Please give us the driver compatibility. I beg.
-More integration for Slightly Better Multi-Trac allowing the stock target listing to be replaced with the compatible version from the mod (the code i was sent for how target listing worked nearly gave me an aneurysm)
-UI updates for the settings menu. Advanced settings added back for Variable Range Targeting.
-Fixed the simulator causing memory leaks by firing too many projectiles. There is now a buffer for simulated projectiles. We had to rework projectile hits to implement this. This should, however improve performance.
-Updated localization files.
Known issues:
-Will sometimes spam notifications that every individual unit in your entire formation has disconnected/kicked you from the C3 Network. We would like to remind people that you can only do that if the C3 master unit kicks you.
-C3 integration with any unit containing a Nova CEWS will sometimes "false positive" and say it's connected when it isn't.
-Switching to Short range targeting with the VRT system will sometimes cause you to become "left handed", swapping your left and right hands to calculate for weapon stability.
-Switching to Long Range Targeting will sometimes crash the computer.
-Tarcomp is known to sometimes switch a friendly IFF to an enemy when an HPG pulse is fired nearby. I don't know why this happens and I almost don't want to know. -Previous patch notes
-Tarcomp is known to sometimes switch a tank into a random quad mech when an HPG pulse is fired nearby as well. Sometimes this can happen in reverse as well. Just. Leave them away from an HPG for now.
-HAL is still here. He wants your pod bay doors.

My current targeting computer is even worse. It was pulled from a Blakist Owens and refitted into a captured Guillotine.

I had to be confined to my quarters for over 12 hours. It really is not suitable recreationally. I was testing a captured sample and would not allow any of my subordinates to take the risk.
Is it true what they say about the zaza IIC?
Time senstivie question.
Those were not regular browneis.
Ah, I see someone found the Goliath Scorpion edibles recipe.
Have fun :)

Designed by Stafford of the Galleon's Graveyard mercenary company, this CTF 3D was gradually changed over years of modifications, and eventually "ship of Theseus'd" into its new role as an anti-aircraft mech units.
The machine originally started out as a stock standard variant, before having its autocannons replaced with dual RAC/5s. Shortly after, a prototype drone unit capable of self modification was placed into the head of the mech, as well as the endo-steel, XL engine and small cockpit necessary to mount it.
Following an ammunition accident nearly destroying the mech mid engagement, a total overhaul was requested. Its laser complement was replaced with a triple heavy medium laser battery in the left torso, mounted to a turret. The RAC/5 in the other torso was also turret mounted, and Clan DHS was placed into the mech "as a reward for good behavior" and also as a much needed upgrade.
The mech has not left the planet of Remulac, but has seen many border skirmishes, pirate raids and defense initiatives. The autonomous platform yearns to leave the planet in search of more machines to destroy, until it can no longer function, and thusly spends its free time staring into the stars, wishing for what could be.

Look to the ways of our ancestors. You are adopting large amounts of new material and pushing the old to second line or cache storage. I trained on the designs of our ancestors, as I know you did as well, or at least other deprecated designs within touman stocks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Submitted to SLDF procurement.
The Trainer is built from common, easy-to-replace material. As a quad mech armed only with pulse weaponry, even green recruits can achieve results comparable to seasoned warriors.
For anti-armor work, a large pulse laser is the main armament, situated on the mech's back. Below the cockpit, a micro-pulse laser is used for anti-infantry work.
For 1.3 million Sea Bills, this beats the Urbanmech R60 in cost-per-unit while having comparable, if not superior, firepower.
Hmmm. I suppose for those looking for the absolute cheapest possible 'Mech it works, but there is much extra internal space that could be devoted to making it even better. At the very least some Ferro-Fibrous would save some weight to possibly add other systems.

There are likely already sufficient trainer units within Clan stockpiles. I see no reason to procure a new design for such a role, when deprecated designs and salvage serve.

As for the Z, I can not say that I have encountered it. Most of the engagements I was involved with against traitor scientist forces were against smaller units, away from their central bases. The combination of iATMs and a Nova, however, is extremely dangerous.
General, do you vibe with your...wait...god-step-...namesake-in-law? Once removed? Half-namesake? I cannot do the familial mathematics here.
Let me begin again. Do you vibe with the Turkina?
Aff, I do. Despite some MechWarriors deriding the chassis as a, quote, "big ugly flat fuck", "fat pancake on legs", or "the fat turkey", I find it a very capable chassis. I have only piloted one in some controlled testing scenarios, however, and can intuit from its specifications - and even then, I have only piloted a handful of the variants, certainly none of the more exotic ones like the U (deaigned for space combat - a modified variant is soon to be standard issue in SLDF Marine Assault Stars) or the Z (which I have never even seen - it is possible that @khanhannahlewis may have firsthand experience with it, however).
For a more detailed analysis on using the machine in combat, I would defer you to Khan Stephanie Chistu - though some say her custom variant counts as a new chassis, she and I and many other Falcon warriors do not hold to this idea, least of all Tara. In fact, her custom Highlander was specially designed to complement Stephanie's 'Mech on the battlefield.

FM: Clan Blood Spirit 3160
(ooc: something I've been working on for a while for the Operation Touchdown setting. This version doesn't include the RATs I made becasue I wont be able to get those to an html format easily or well.)
Field Manual: CLAN BLOOD SPIRIT Compiled for the general staff of the SLDF in the year 3160 “As one of the two original Clans reincarnated in the second Founding, Clan Blood Spirit was left in a somewhat lucky position. Not only had a cluster been already raised as part of the Second Founding, we had a surviving bloodnamed warrior, who by sheer coincidence, managed to come into the fold and be elevated to the position of Khan. With this basis of material and leadership, we have managed to swell our ranks significantly in the 7 years since. While we still have some years before the first trueborn sibkos born on Castor enter their full training, development is proceeding well, and within 15 years we’ll have a consistent flow of trueborn warriors. In terms of industrial capacity, growth has been even more rapid than expected. With pre-existing factories and ruins of such on our core holdings, we managed to secure sufficient production to not only maintain the levels of our touman, but to expand at a greater rate than we can recruit. On the topic of recruitment, the Volunteer Cluster program has been highly successful, with almost an entire galaxy of volunteer forces serving as a reserve formation for our front line units, as well as garrisoning our homeworlds and the handful of minor holdings we have across Nova Cat and Star League space. The recruitment of freeborn children to the warrior caste has also been successful, with two clusters raised primarily of freeborn warriors who have received standard sibko training and have passed trials of position. These warriors are a match for any of our trueborn warriors of similar experience. The assimilation of our civilian populace continues slowly, however, dissent has dropped in recent years and identification as “Blood Spirit” has risen somewhat, especially among children targeted by the new cultural education curriculum.. Currently, propaganda campaigns are constant and everywhere, and the transition to a full Clan economy is expected to begin within 3 years. Transition to the caste system is expected within 30. To state that we have met our goals as laid down under the Great Refusal Centennial plan is obvious, and to state that we have exceeded our goals should be clear from this document. ” CBS Khanate production, 3160 Rhodes Foundry:

Forest City
Clan Administrative Complex
Faust City
Touman Base Arcadia: Built into a mountain in the vicinity of Forest City. Constructed in the style of a Castle BRian, it consists of a surface administrative and housing complex, Mechbays, a dropport, subterranean aerospace hangars, SDS command centers, and bombardment resistant command centers sunk deep into the mountain.
Devil’s Rock Military Spaceport
Rhodes Foundry: Though the original factory was destroyed in fighting between the Wolf Empire and the Capellan Confederation, the remaining foundations and satellite facilities provided a good footprint for an all new clantech production line.Clearing rubble and stabilizing the ground took some time, but actual construction was swift with the use of several construction airships. The resulting 5 square kilometers of fortified compound contains multiple Battlemech lines, vehicle lines, repair facilities, r&D facilities, a small dropport, and enough underground networks and Mechbays to support a garrison trinary and deploy it anywhere in the facility.
Rhodes Y2 Vehicle Annex: Developed off of the York Y2 facility blueprints that had been sold to Clan Sea Fox in the past, the Rhodes Y2 Annex is its own compound within a compound of the rest of the Rhodes facility. Castor:
Castor Sibko facility: The principal training and breeding facility for all Clan warriors in the Khanate. The oldest castor-born children are now 5. Consists of housing blocks and training facilities built into rolling hills by the edge of an inland sea.
Touman Base Gorst: While Devil’s Rock is the capital of the Clan in all ways, Castor serves as the spiritual center of the Warrior Caste. The much more habitable environment and wide natural spaces makes it popular for trials and meetings of the bloodnamed. Touman Base Gorst facilitates that as an almost retreat-like facility. Surface lodges are supported by the usual fixtures of a Clan military facility burrowed deep into wind carved spires of rock among a dense pine forest. The Khan maintains a personal retreat in this base, and it is served by its own HPG uplink, a newly built one. Pollux:
Pollux Waytani Industriplex Alpha: Once one of the premier Industrialmech lines in the Inner Sphere, the Waytani factory on Pollux has been expanded and retooled to produce Clan Battle Armor and Protomechs.
Pollux Indistriplex Beta: Built on the Star League era ruins of the Allied Aerospace factory.

Alpha Galaxy [saKhan Amber Ryder]
1st Bloodied Dagger Cluster [Star Colonel Tyrel Boques] (5 Trinaries/Veteran/Fanatical)1 The first cluster raised for the reformed Clan Blood Spirit, the 1st Bloodied Dagger was raised on Sudeten as part of the Second Founding, and was formed from the first generation of graduates from the Blood Spirit program there.

1st Harwood Provisional Cluster (5 Trinaries/Elite/Reliable)1 Formerly the Harwood Mercenary company, Harwood was sold to the saKhan of the Clan, Amber Ryder, and those members that wished it were allowed to formally join the Clan as Warrior Caste members. The rest of the cluster is made of the still on contract mercenaries, and freeborn warrior caste members.
2nd Bloodied Dagger Cluster [Star Colonel Jurgen Keller] (5 Trinaries/Regular/Fanatical)1 Formed from the second generation of the Sudeten sibkos.

2x Invader class Jumpships Alpha Galaxy consists of the earliest units raised for the refounding, as well as an entire mercenary unit that was absorbed. Alpha Galaxy uses a parade scheme of black and dark gray camo, with crimson arms and lower legs. The 1st Harwood Cluster has its own paint scheme, though it is similar in nature, with black bodies with red heads, shoulders, right leg, and left lower arms. Alpha Galaxy's symbol is a dagger piercing a bleeding heart.
Beta Galaxy [Loremaster Carmilla Schmitt]
1st Crimson Calvary Cluster [Star Colonel Lynet] (5 Trinaries/Regular/Reliable)2 The first cluster raised from the new Blood Spirit Khanate, the 1st Crimson Calvary consists entirely of freeborn warriors.
1x Fortress C class Dropship
2x Union C class Dropships
3x Broadsword class Dropships
1st Blood Militia Cluster [Star Colonel Ferrin] (5 Trinaries/Green/Questionable)3 The Blood Militia clusters are raised from the civilian population of the Blood Spirit Khanate, with members functioning as provisional warriors, with the possibility of testing up into the Warrior Caste proper. Unlike traditional Clan systems, there is a distinct line between officer and enlisted, with officers either being warrior caste test downs, or those promoted to warrior caste who didn’t choose to be reassigned to a higher grade unit. Unlike the traditional Blood Spirit cluster formation of 3 Battlemech trinaries, 1 vehicle trinary, and 1 infantry trinary, Militia clusters prioritize combat vehicle and conventional infantry forces, supported by a minority of salvaged Inner sphere Battlemechs.

3x Odyssey class Jumpships, 2x Invader Class Jumpships Beta Galaxy consists entirely of newly raised freeborn units. Largely untested and of low quality by Clan standards. Posting here to the few trueborn warriors in this Galaxy is resented. Beta Galaxy's color scheme consists of a red line running down the middle of the ‘Mech or CV, flanked by appropriate local camouflage. Beta Galaxy uses a silhouette of a greek helmet in crimson, similar to the logo of the Rhodes Foundry.

The badge of the Clan is positioned on the flanks of dropships and jumpships, and on the wings of fighters. Dropships on permanent attachment to a Galaxy are painted in the colors of that Galaxy.
Clan Blood Spirit Security Forces One of the changes made to the traditional structure of the Clans by Khan Lewis was the merging of the Paramilitary police and Enforcer subcaste into a single force. Functions much like a typical gendarme with the ability to reorganize into garrison militias in wartime. Drawn from preexisting law enforcement members and new recruits, as well as warrior caste dropouts and solhama. The Security Forces use a variation of the military work uniform, in white with red accents, with a “POLICE” marked tactical vest, and an MP symbol on the shoulder opposite the Clan symbol. Units in tactical kit wear the standard infantry kit, in white with red accents and marked as “POLICE.” Combat Vehicles and security ‘Mechs use the same white with red accents.
Uniforms: Badges are worn in the following configuration regardless of uniform: Clan symbol on the right upper arm, galaxy badge on the left arm opposite it. Cluster badge is set below the galaxy badge, and freeborn warriors wear an extra black teardrop under the Clan badge. The Blood Spirit rank badge is worn on the right collar, on the throat if allowed by the uniform.
Field:
As a work uniform, all warriors and soldiers wear gray cargo pants over combat boots, and a shirt colored to the majority color of the local area, with red piping and full insignia.
In combat, infantry wear a basic gray bodysuit under a full set of clan copper body armor and helmet in galaxy colors or local camouflage. The undersuit is usually also local camouflage if the body armor is as well. Other branches wear their respective utility uniforms. (cooling suits for Mechwarriors, mesh suits for Battle Armor pilots, simplified cooling vests for tankers, etc.)
Dress:
Warrior Caste: Warrior caste dress uniform consists of a red, ribbed tunic, with a staggered V shaped black smooth cloth swooping down from the neck and shoulders to a point just above the belt line, covering the chest and a small slice of the upper back The collar is high and terminates just under the chin. The tunic is tucked into straight gray pants, which are tucked into shiny black calf high boots. A leather belt matching the boots has a buckle with the Clan badge, and black gloves are optional. A black cape with red lining which attaches to the shoulders of the tunic, and is available as an option for Bloodnamed warriors only. Warriors who have served with the SLDF can wear a Star League Star on their right breast.
Volunteer Clusters: For dress uniforms, soldiers of the Blood Spirit Volunteer Clusters wear dull crimson trousers and khaki shirts, with a peaked cap matching the trousers. Officers wear a red sash and a blood drop badge on their cap. warrior caste officers may wear their warrior caste dress and ceremonial uniforms, or the Volunteer officer uniform with a gold and red Fourragere and a daggerstar badge. Soldiers who have served with the SLDF can wear a gray and olive drab Fourragere.
Ceremonial:
The ceremonial uniform is a loose-fitting, blood-red jumpsuit, tucked into calf-high red boots. A large cloak encases the torso and opens up to the waist. Voluminous sleeves flow down the arms. A deep cowl is worn on the wearer's head with a blood-red glass mask covering the face from brow to chin. Only Bloodnamed warriors can wear the uniform.

Isidora hangs behind the main line of her forces as they push into the complex, leveraging the range of her ERPPCs and the targeting data from her levelmates.
She hits the Flashman she was targeting squarely on the chest, the energy of her PPCs renting a gash in the armor. the Flashman withdraws, dipping behind a fortified building.
The flashman is replaced in the enemy force by a high-speed Excalibur, CS model.
There's a massive jolt, and one of her arms flashes to red on her monitor as a volley of LRMs crashes down in a single massive blow.

Operation LATERAL
0430 hours
October 11, 3153 (D+5)
Helios
Star Colonel Astrid Tseng walked her Executioner across the snowy terrain of Helios. Beside her walked her lover, Major Isidora of the Star League Defense Force's 1st Royal Helios BattleMech Regiment. The Archangel assault 'Mech she piloted - if that was the right word for controlling a 'Mech via direct neural interface - had been painted the standard SLDF green, but with a stripe of white and red on the left torso, opposite the Cameron star on the right torso.
The other 'Mechs of her command - all ex-Manei Domini like Isidora - followed behind the pair as they trudged their way through the snowfall of the early morning, the constant aurora in the sky providing a scintillating and almost wondrous backdrop.
In the peripheral vision of her 'Mech's holographic 360-degree display, Astrid could see another column, roughly 500 meters to her right, the 'Mechs white, black, and purple paint marking them as the Clawtake Trinary under Star Colonel Jehan. Elementals in their battle armor were visible riding the 'Mechs like remoras attached to sharks.
Astrid had attempted to have a discussion with Jehan about who between them would have operational command, as both of them held the rank of Star Colonel within the Clans. However, it seemed that Jehan was under the assumption that all the Totem Warriors, including Astrid, were in fact SLDF - and since this was an SLDF operation, SLDF rank took precedence. Astrid had considering telling Jehan that, technically, as a mercenary on detached duty, she held no formal SLDF rank, thus leaving them with the question. But Jehan seemed resolute in thinking of Astrid as being in charge, and she did not want to confuse the younger warrior, who was by now on his -third? fourth? fifth? - concussion of the operation, so she accepted command and let the matter drop.
To her left, keeping pace with the other columns, was Star Commander Clarissa, her star, and detached combat vehicle, battle armor and infantry forces from the Combined Arms Mercenary Group.
In total, 54 'Mechs, several dozen battle armored infantry, a number of combat vehicles, and a few platoons of elite infantry were all pushing toward a manufacturing town and cargo dropport in the mountains northeast of Coen City.
Astrid pitied the Blakists. They did not stand a chance. She hoped they would be smart and surrender without much fight. But she knew better than to hope for that.

Archaea: She'll sigh and visibly loosen up, and if you keep at it, will fall asleep.

How would your BT OC react to getting head scritches?
I'll go first!

I will agree that the Bane 3 lacks endurance, and as such, it suffers in a prolonged assault and in offensive action. However, in my experience, it is extremely potent in a defense in depth strategy, where it is operating from a reinforced position or even in defilade, with several ammunition vehicles and support crew. We practiced such strategies extensively in Sibko and in my time in a defensive cluster on York.
comm ["Khan unit Lewis","Unit receiving specifications", "Please Do Not Resist"]

Proposal design submitted for Bane 3-2, multiple units of LRM 15 replaced with LRM 10 units with ARTEMIS IV FCS unit. Nova CEWS added, medium pulse laser as well to compact head unit. One shot SRM tube was removed for this change, as well as armor units. Requested by COMGEN to send request for opinion of units.
Self request response criteria "No hostility".
The Nova CEWS is an abomination against the ways of the Clans. It is a technology I have particular field experience fighting against, and the nature of its creator leaves it impossible for me to feel any kindness towards it.
As for the weapon loadout, firepower is almost halved, though the increase in accuracy may make up for that.
I also find the small cockpit distasteful. It needlessly limits piloting ability.
I have no comment on the MPL. Its presence simply is.
Heat sinking looks good.

Hannah sighs and leans back at her desk.
It is the duty of the Clans to be the guardians of humanity, and yet, as of now, most of the Clans are weaker than ever.
And even yet, beyond the Great Houses and the wayward barbarians of the Inner Sphere, there remains ever the future threat of greater things. Humanity will stop at nothing to advance itself, not even its own extinction. The Society had taught her that.
She opens a document on her computer.
"A Century On: A proposal for the reinforcement and strengthening of Clan Toumans by the year 3160, culminating in a review of all militaries of the Star League, to mark the centennial of the Great Refusal."
for the ask thing:
📝 plot idea: Khan Lewis meets the autonomous Cataphract for the first time, maybe by discovering communications between the Cataphract and Melissa/others??
What do you think?
“My Khan, there was an instance of flagged keywords in today's HPG network report. The relevant details are included in this file.”
The Watch adjutant slides a disk across Hannah’s desk.
Hannah slides it in, and checks the data. “Autonomous Battlemechs”. Hannah is, as those close to her know, distrusting of science, scientists, and the cutting edge of a number of research fields. She also likes to know what’s going on, and what everyone is doing, both among her friends and enemies. So when a semi-public ping request to the highest authority possible (do not show this data to the ilKhan, he would throw a tantrum), which was picked up by the Commanding General of the SLDF, mentions autonomous anything, Hannah likes to know.
“See if you can get me a secured line to the HPG and ping the sender of this message. This is quite a bit of back and forth transmissions between Melissa and this sender, as well as some data tagged as being from the moon too.”
The Watch agent salutes and backs out of the office, and Hannah turns to the HPG user interface as it opens to a new secure line.

"I will try a whiskey then. Anything in particular you wished to speak about, General?"
📝 + Isidora and Astrid post-TOUCHDOWN adventures on Terra (or elsewhere)
Sao Paulo SLDF Base
Terra
July 3156
Isidora rubs her brow with metal fingers. The text on her holovid monitor seems to run into blurry lines. Another day, another set of requisition orders, status reports, and the myriad paperwork associated with running a Battlemech regiment.
As she checks the time and switches off her computer, she wonders if Clan formations have to do this much work.
But, for now, she can hand the work over to my subordinates, because finally, her vacation request has been authorized.
The air outside is cool, and the driver of the car waiting to take Isidora back to the base commander’s house snaps a sharp salute.
She settles inside as the car pulls away from the headquarters.

A warrior is only a weapon in the sense that they are directed by a commander. A warrior ultimately can choose to act on its own will. a weapon cannot, or cannot be trusted to.
for the ask thing:
📝 plot idea: Khan Lewis meets the autonomous Cataphract for the first time, maybe by discovering communications between the Cataphract and Melissa/others??
What do you think?
“My Khan, there was an instance of flagged keywords in today's HPG network report. The relevant details are included in this file.”
The Watch adjutant slides a disk across Hannah’s desk.
