(coh) Oh yeah, and she probably often decides when they're playing and John's "sick" that the best medicine is her hugs and kisses lol!

oh yes hugs and kisses and cuddles fix everything. And laughter too

(coh) Imagine if John gets Erin her own plastic "play doctor" kit for her toys and stuffies; like, it has a pretend thermometer, stethoscope, etc.

oh yes! and she sometimes demands him to lay on the couch so she can use her doctor kit to "diagnose" him

She loves walking around at work with John as they both wear their stethescopes

(coh) Imagine if Erin pulls John into a tea party with her and Ariel, and she's just excitedly babbling on to him about all the things Ariel "told" her she did that day.

oh yes! he loves playing with her and she pretends to have Ariel ask her questions to ask John like "daddy, Ariel wants to know if we can make cookies tomorrow? oh, and she wants to lick the spoon!"

(coh) Imagine John walking in to see Erin playing "indoor picnic" with Ariel and using some of the plastic food from her play kitchen.

oh yes she loves indoor picnics! They do them with Ariel and the fake kitchen food but also if it ends up raining when Erin really wanted to go outside and play, he'll cheer her up by letting her have a picnic on a blanket in the living room while watching a show

(coh) Imagine if either John or a colleague of his ends up sewing some little outfits for Erin to dress up Ariel with; things like a nightgown, play clothes etc.

omg yes! a few of his colleagues love knitting and crocheting so along with making clothes for her, they love making play clothes for her little bestie! especially if they make something for April that matches something Erin owns

And Erin LOVES when she can match her dolly

(coh) Oh geez. And Erin just looks adorably confused as she tries to come up with something Ariel eats; she clearly can't eat fish since they're her friends, but she can't really think of anything else. John just laughs as he sees how confused she is.

oh noooo and imagine if she starts to cry because she thinks that John is laughing at her but he gets down on her level to give her a cuddle and apologizes "oh baby no, daddy wasn't laughing at you. Sometimes you're just so cute daddy can't handle it and lets out a chuckle every once in a while" and Erin just pouts and huffs "Fine, Ariel can stay on the couch" :(

(coh) Imagine John watching Erin just hold the little Ariel doll in her lap as she combs/brushes its hair with the brush/comb it came with.

yes! she calls it "Erin's little salon" and she's constantly talking to the doll like she sees the hairdressers do when John takes her and him to get their haircut and she's always petting Ariel's hair and going "oh so soft! you're very beautiful Ariel!" she's always complimenting the doll

(coh) Erin does put Ariel on the couch, but she worries a bit, asking John "but Daddy, won't she get hungry if we don't let her eat with us?"

And he laughs and ruffles her hair and is like "okay baby, what does she eat?"

(coh) Once John gets the doll out of the box, Erin will not let go of it; he has to gently remind her of the "no toys at the table" rule when she tries to bring Ariel to the dinner table.

yes! She brings her new bestie everywhere! And she presents the argument that "she's the same size as me daddy, she can sit at the table!" because she doesn't see her as just a toy, that's her friend! and John doubles down and is like "okay but you would get super sad if she got messy! let's let her wait for you on the couch and then we can watch a show with her after dinner"

(coh) Imagine if John takes Erin shopping, and she sees one of those toddler Ariel dolls (you know, the bigger, softer yet more durable ones where you can dress them up and brush their hair); she falls in love with it and just timidly asks John if she can have it, since she's still afraid of outright asking for things.

Oh yes and I can see Erin not saying anything at first and she's just keeps eyeing it trying to get up the courage to ask for it but thankfully daddy swoops in and asks her if she wants it first. "You want that dolly baby? it's a very pretty dolly!" And she just nods quietly and that's all John needs before she sits the doll next to Erin in the cart and she's hugging on it and squealing the whole time and when they get up to checkout, she's hesitant to give it to the cashier but John has to reassure her "daddy will give it baby I promise"

(coh) Imagine John holding Erin in the rocking chair in his room, and just rubbing her back and singing to her until she falls asleep for the night.

Sometimes it takes forever to get her to sleep because she’s afraid of nightmares but rocking always works

(coh) When she first comes to stay with him, Erin is still thinking the only way she'll be loved is if she's "good" and "well-behaved" at all times; like, she hates green beans, but is still trying to choke them down the first time John feeds them to her because she doesn't want to upset him.

Oh yes but she slips up and makes a disgusted face and John just smiles and is like “you don’t have to eat em if you don’t like em baby. That’s totally okay! How about some carrots instead?”
