Lotus - Fox Witch - 20

Azura and Kaden’s oldest daughter, raised in the Deeprealms. She was born with two tails, an indicator of having powerful magic. Her voice is often described as enchanting. Loves cold weather. Born on 12/1.

Shigure - Sky Knight - 18

Azura and Kaden’s oldest son, raised in the Deeprealms. Like his mother, sings beautifully. Also likes to draw. While mild and kind, he can also be a bit temperamental. Quite fond of heights. Born on 6/6.

Kotton - Kitsune - 17

Azura and Kaden’s youngest son, raised in the Deeprealms. Likes to stick his nose in places where it doesn’t belong and often gets in trouble for reckless behavior. His hair is always tangled. Born on 4/3.

Selkie - Kitsune - 15

Azura and Kaden's youngest daughter, raised in the Deeprealms. Cheerful, noisy, and not at all shy, she is always looking for people (and animals) to play with. The most fearless in the army. Born on 10/20.

Overall, the siblings get along well despite growing up separately from each other. Shigure did start out by distancing himself from the other three, but Selkie helped them all find common ground by following her oldest brother around nonstop. Their singing talents range differently from sibling to sibling, with Shigure’s being the strongest and Selkie’s the weakest. Lotus personally uses her songs to cast magic, and Kotton often forgets he can even sing. A common family activity is taking turns sharing songs with their parents, who listen wholeheartedly; however, only Lotus and Shigure takes singing seriously.

So a confession: As of late I’ve been very unhappy with my art. In order to combat this, I’ve decided to strip myself back down to basics and reteach myself. This is the first result of my attempts to do so 🌊 Is it perfect? Nowhere near that! Is it a step in the right direction? I think so! Hopefully I keep improving as time goes on, and we’ll see lots of evolution on my new art journey 🌸

I would like to know about your Octopath cast.

Oh 🥺 I’m so happy somebody asked about them! I started working on them a bit after Octopath II was announced when a friend suggested we make our own casts! It’s been an on and off project for me and recently I really wanted to develop them more! I’m hoping to one day write something for them and post it on AO3, but it’s a slow process!

As I have both my main cast and their important NPCs, I’ll talk about each of them! The travelers will be in OCTOPATH order, with me then mentioning which NPC they are paired with! For the images, the traveler will be on the left and the NPC on the right!

“Your name is Owyn, and you are a Hunter. Many years ago, you lived as a noble within the Southern Kingdom and were soon to be wed. Unfortunately, a long held secret of your family was revealed, and you were labeled as an Omen of the End of Days. To ward off superstition, you were banished into the endless forests of the Deeplands. Though you have since adjusted to the life you have been forced to live, there are rumors that you are being sought out once again…”

Owyn Blaidd, age 55, is my hunter! He hails from the Endless Forests in Deeplands of the Southern Kingdom, where he has been living for the past 25 years! As a hunter, he has a small wolf pack as companions, with them doing a random attack type when summoned in battle.

His storyline follows him defeating both humans and beasts who have also been labeled as “Omens”! His Crossed Paths is with my Warrior, Trefor Bermond.

His special leitmotif is “One Who Seeks Omens”, and the mythical creature associated with him is Fenrir.

Owyn has two important NPCs to his storyline! Sigyn (shown) and Cerys Thrasir, who are the daughter and granddaughter of the King of the Southern Kingdom. Sigyn is 50, while Cerys is 25.

You discarded your true name long ago, rising from the ashes as a completely new person and taking on any job you could to survive. One day when on a routine mission, you hear two names that are familiar to you. You follow the one who uttered them carefully, only to discover something surprising…”

Celestite, age 30, is my thief! She hails from the Greenlands in the Western Kingdom, where she and her partner Zunyite are well known pair of thieves. Her family was massacred when she was 15, leaving her to struggle on the streets until she met Zunyite at 18.

His storyline has her investigating the apparent survival of two of her sisters, leading her to discover the truth about the death of her parents and remaining siblings. Her Crossed Paths is with my Merchant, Oriana di Angelo.

Her special leitmotif is “One Who Seeks Answers”, and the mythical creature associated with her is a phoenix.

As previously mentioned, her important storyline NPC is named Zunyite. Zunyite has been her partner for the past 12 years and has skills in both thievery and assassination. He is 34.

Due to your white hair and red eyes you are seen as cursed, giving you a low status amongst the rankings of nobles. Despite this, love blossomed between you and the second prince, and you have devoted your lives to each other. That is until one day, word of your relationship began to spread…”

Tsukiko Hoshihime, age 26, is my scholar! She hails from the capital of the Eastern Kingdom in the Moonlands, where she is a personal advisor to the Kingdom’s Second Prince. As a scholar, she is incredibly smart, with her often tutoring the children of nobles on top of her other duties.

Her storyline follows her investigating the origins of her family’s curse, which is said to have appeared ten generations prior. Her Crossed Paths is with my Dancer, Anima Kane.

Her special leitmotif is “One Who Seeks Devotion”, and the mythical creature associated with her is a moon rabbit.

Her important NPC is the Eastern Kingdom’s Second Prince, Kaguya-Hiko, and the two have been inseparable since childhood. He is 27.

Your father has not been in the picture since you were a baby, and your mother does not talk about him often. One day, your older brother disappears and leaves a letter saying he is going to track down the man who abandoned you as children. Unsure of what to do, you go to your mother for advice…”

Oriana di Angelo, age 19, is my merchant! She hails from a small town in the Heartlands of the Northern Kingdom, where she runs a small shop with her mother and brother. As she is still young, she is still developing her skills as a merchant, making her less experienced than most others.

Her storyline involves her tracking down her older brother, while also dealing with a business tycoon that has been running smaller stores and shops out of business. As previously mentioned, her Crossed Paths is with my thief, Celestite.

Her special leitmotif is “One Who Seeks Family”, and the mythical creature associated with her is a maneki-neko.

Her important NPC is a thief named Lazulite, who is attempting to steal the secrets of the business tycoon for his own gain. He is not associated with Celestite and Zunyite, but chose a similar naming scheme to sound cool. He is 22.

In the region you call home there is a religious uprising, and those who reject the new faith and continue to worship the old are being captured and beheaded. You and your twin brother have gone into hiding for your own safety, but you still fear your days are numbered. One day, a kind young woman offers to smuggle the two of you across the border. You accept her offer, but things don’t go as smoothly as you hope….”

Pythios Athanasios, age 24, is my Cleric! He hails from the Icelands in the Northern Kingdom, where he and his twin brother work as Priests for the Sacred Flame. In his current position, Pythios has a very large influence over the Church and their beliefs.

His storyline focuses on him trying to avenge his now deceased twin brother, alongside stopping the religious uprising in the Northern Kingdom. His Crossed Paths is with my Apothecary, Hiro Hikaruno.

His special leitmotif is “One Who Seeks Revelation”, and the mythical creature associated with him is the dullahan.

His important NPC is his childhood friend, Cassandra Harmonia, who serves as a Priestess for a group known as the Order of the Eight Immortals. She is 24.

“Your name is Anima, and you are a Dancer. You have no memories of your past, and currently live with a man claiming to be your husband. Though you live a happy life with each other, you have always questioned your love for him. After getting into a fight with him, you have plans to leave on a journey to recover your lost memories. Packing in the middle of a rainy night, you find a mysterious key…”

Anima Kane, age 22, is my dancer! She lives in the Wavelands of the Southern Kingdom with her husband, Arthwr Kane, who is their town’s Apothecary. The only thing she remembers from her past are a series of dances, and even that is thanks to muscle memory.

Her story involves her running away from her home after finding the remains of a tattered troupe dress in order to regain her lost memories. As previously mentioned, her Crossed Paths is with my Scholar, Tsukiko Hoshihime.

Her special leitmotif is “One Who Seeks Memories”, and the mythical creature associated with her is the selkie.

She has two important NPCs in her storyline: her husband, Arthwr Kane, and a soldier for the Order of the Eight Immortals named Nile Gilderoy (shown). Arthwr is 28 and and Nile is 21.

“Your name is Trefor, and you are a Warrior. You are a retired mercenary, having settled down four years ago when you fell in love with a fellow sellsword. Your past haunts you, however, and people you once crossed blades with spread rumors that you are in truth a demon thirsting for blood. Though the rumors aren’t true, you begin to fit the image when your young daughter is kidnapped for ransom. Blade in hand, you head to the promised meeting location…”

Trefor Bermond, age 32, is my warrior! He lives with his wife, Sylphie, in a village located in the Hinterlands of the Western Kingdom. Together, they have a daughter named Mina, who is kidnapped at the beginning of his story.

His story involves him rescuing his daughter alongside trying to find answers to why she was kidnapped in the first place. As previously mentioned, his Crossed Paths is with my Hunter, Owyn Blaidd.

His special leitmotif is “One Who Seeks Retribution”, and the mythical creature associated with him is the dhampir.

He has two important NPCs in his story as well! They are his wife Sylphie Bermond (shown), and their daughter Mina Bermond. Sylphie is 30 and Mina is 3.

“Your name is Hiro, and you are an Apothecary. Your family has served one of the many Noble Families of your Kingdom for generations, resulting in them being held in high regards. When the Patriarch of the family falls ill, you volunteer to travel to the Kingdom of the North in order to obtain the medicine to cure him. You spend the night packing your things, when suddenly you hear a voice whispering down the hall. Listening in, you hear a plot you’re not supposed to know…”

Hiro Hikaruno, age 28, is my apothecary! He hails from a large city in the Starlands of the Eastern Kingdom, where his family’s practice is well known. He is an apothecary of high prowess, with his skills passing even his father/mentor’s.

His story involves him trying to track down a mythical butterfly of legend in order to grant a sick noble immortality. As previously mentioned, his Crossed Paths is with my Cleric, Pythios Athanasios.

His special leitmotif is “One Who Seeks Immortality”, and the mythical creature he is associated with is the soul butterfly.

His important NPC is a mysterious woman named Olwen Gale, who seems to know the secrets to immortality and reviving the dead. She is 26.

That about summarizes the characters that I have shown so far! I have another important group of NPCs I’d like to design in the future, which is a mix of bosses and lore characters!

There is, of course, more to these characters as well, but as I plan to write a series for them, I didn’t want to spoil any huge plot twists!

“Say Sentinels!”

After receiving that ask about my 13SAR OCs, I had the urge to draw them again!! I tried to mimic the old cafe collab art, but unfortunately my drawing style is a little too thick and lanky to copy it accurately! It’s still very cute, however!

Do you have any lore about your 13SAG ocs? I am very interested! I love them!!!

Oh!!! I’m so glad to hear somebody is interested in my 13SAR children! What started as a silly thing for me turned into something a little bit more extensive, so there is quite a bit for me to say about them!

As there will be spoilers for the game, I will be putting this answer under a cut!

I’ll talk about them in the order I created them!

First up is my OG Boy, Atsuhiko Ide!

Atsuhiko is a young, mysterious half-Japanese, half-American teen who seems to be able to jump between the different sectors without any known reason behind how. When he is first introduced, it is as an upperclassman and a friend of Shu Amiguchi. At first he seems like a bit of an airhead, but in reality he has a vast knowledge on programming and computers. As the story progresses, it is revealed he is also friends with Tomi Kisaragi, with her showing shock he has also ended up in the 1985 time period. It is also shown very early on he has a crush on Miwako Sawatari, but she seems to be oblivious to his advances.

He is the only person to ever acknowledge Shiba as existing and shows hostilities towards him.

In reality, he is an AI known as AIDE: Assistant Intellectual Developmental Entity. He is the AI who was originally in charge of Universal Control, but after the Deimos attacked in the first loop, he was locked out and unable to re-access it. As he is part of Universal Control, however, his AI was able to be reinstated with full memories after each loop. Due to his inability to access Sector 0, however, he is left unable to do anything to protect the compatibles from the attack.

Him being an AI part of universal control is why he is able to “see” Shiba, but in truth he can only sense him. The reason he shows hostility towards Shiba is because he considers Shiba as an error in the coding, knowing very well he should not exist.

In the final battle of the final loop, he is able to access Universal Control once again, but sacrifices himself in order to help Miyuki’s plan succeed. Post-game, his AI is patched up in the simulation and he starts a relationship with Miwako.

He does not have a DNA counterpart as an AI, but his appearance is based off a member of the 2188 Colony Member, Aiden King.

Next up is the girl who came to me in a dream, Irene King!

Irene is fully American, with Atsuhiko claiming to be her older-half brother through their mother. At first, she attends Sakura High as a transfer student alongside her brother, but quickly has to drop out due to a mysterious illness that causes her headaches and dissociative spells. Before her illness, she is in the same class as Natsuno Minami and Megumi Yakushiji. After her illness, Atsuhiko can be heard saying on multiple occasions he cannot stay late after school in order to care for his sick sister. She appears in the stories of other characters every once in a while, first as a healthy teen girl, and later when she is having dissociative spells.

She’s rather reserved, with her often keeping her thoughts to herself. This only grows worse as her illness runs rampant in her body. In most cases, she does not speak unless spoken too first, with her sentences making no sense during her dissociative state.

The second year student Yasuhiro Nakayma is always asking Atsuhiko about her, as before her illness, the two were dating. She can sometimes be seen asking for Yasuhiro during her dissociative spells, but Atsuhiko always finds her before Yasuhiro can.

Later on, it is revealed Irene is a compatible from the now desolated Sector 1. She was infected by a mysterious illness that started to develop during Sector 1’s destruction that made her unable to fight during the final battle. It is later revealed the cause of the illness is genetic.

She is the pilot of Sentinel No. 24, an experimental sentinel with the power of generation one sentinels but the lightweight properties of generation four.

Her 2188 counterpart is American Scientist Irene King, pupil to Professor Chihiro Morimura. Her focus of study was AI, with her wanting to develop an AI to aide in Project Ark during the simulation phase. The AI she was planning to develop would take on the appearance of her younger brother, Aiden King, who passed away from a genetic disease while on the Colony. Unfortunately, she passed away from the same disease before she could finish the AI. As a result, Professor Morimura finished it for her.

The AIDE AI Atsuhiko sees both Professor King and Professor Morimura as motherly figures as a result of their efforts in creating him, even referring to Chihiro as mother when he sees her.

Post game, Irene’s genetics have been modified in order to slow the progression of her illness.

Lastly is the newest edition to the gang, Yasuhiro Nakayama!

Yasuhiro Nakayama is a second-year in the same class as Ryoko and is Irene King’s boyfriend. He transferred to Sakura High early on, with it being implied he knew Irene before she and her “brother” transferred to the school. The two quickly connected, starting a relationship before she had to drop out due to her illness. Atsuhiko does not approve of the relationship of Yasuhiro and Irene, often commenting that Yasuhiro is a nuisance. As a result, Yasuhiro and Atsuhiko often butt heads.

He is extremely intelligent, with his strongest subject being math. He plans to attend Tokyo University after he graduates, with a hope of going into engineering and physics. He is also often getting in trouble with the school due to him refusing to cut his hair, which he keeps tied up in order to keep it out of his face. He also has a bad habit of misplacing his glasses during important moments of the story.

He is revealed to be a compatible at the same time as Irene, with him also being from the now desolate Sector 1. The two fled together with the help of Atsuhiko, and though Yasuhiro is grateful for Atsuhiko’s help, he thinks that Atsuhiko is too overprotective of Irene. In reality, Atsuhiko is just trying to protect Yasuhiro in case the illness can spread. This is later proven to be impossible, allowing Yasuhiro to reunite with Irene.

He is the pilot of Sentinel No. 25, an experimental sentinel modeled after the second generation but with generation four’s lightweight properties. He does not fight in the final battle, however, choosing to instead protect Irene when the citizens of Ashitaba are transferred to Sector 3.

His 2188 counterpart is Theoretical Physicist and Engineer, Doctor Yasuhiro Nakayama. Before the nanomachine infection, he was a teacher at Tokyo University, where he met and later married Professor Irene King. The two had one child together, but both he and their child were killed when the nanomachines spread. Professor King was able to sample the DNA of her husband for Project Ark but unable to get a useable sample from their child due to the genetic disease in Professor King’s family.

Before his death, he was also close with Irene’s younger brother, Aiden.

Post-game, he and Irene are the last of the compatibles to have children. This is a result of them wanting to find a temporary solution or cure for Irene’s disease.

(Originally, I developed Yasuhiro as another AI, but somewhere down the line I made him another compatible.)
