Thankful! I am so thankful. When I look around I become grateful. When I look inside I become grateful. Every time I look up I’m grateful. And then every time I turn around I feel so thankful.

3 Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 And when Christ, who is your[a] life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

5 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. 6 Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming.[b] 7 You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. 8 But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. 9 Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. 10 Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. 11 In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile,[c] circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized,[d] slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.

12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. 17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

Galatians 5:22-26 New Living Translation (NLT)

22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 26 Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.

When I got the news although he was not doing well a pain hit that was very heavy! A shock overcame me and thoughts clouded my mind. I began to lose control of the peace I daily work so hard to maintain. The peace that had so often been restored. I was wondering why did we have to feel the pain. Again. And then again. Although we know we have to leave here it still hurts so much when someone has to leave here. Why is that we know this and still have to feel this pain! It hurts, to us it’s not fair, and I don’t want to have to feel pain.

I was sitting in the car with my brother both thinking and talking and thinking and talking and as we began to listen to the music in the background Keith can feel it and begins to praise God like they are the only two in the car. As I am praising God with my brother I can literally feel peace and joy entering my soul as I am literally giving him praise. It is the peace and joy that, like Keith said in his mighty prayer, only comes from God. The Holy Spirit fell so heavy in that car that I felt I had to share it. I wanted to go fellowship and spend time with my mom and show her some love. Listen to some gospel and praise God together. We cry, laugh, sing, and pray. Not only that, I knew where I was when I heard the news. And I knew she was hurting and I wanted her to feel what I felt when I was in the car praising God!!! It felt so good to have that moment with God and in the midst of a huge storm. So I wanted my mom who has been battling like a soldier to feel that! I didn’t want to take away her grief because I can’t do that and neither can she. I can’t take away the beautiful memories that are flooding her mind. Or the painful thought of someone so close not being around. I couldn’t even remove it from myself if I desired to. But that peace and that joy and that comfort from the almighty God will pull you up when you don’t have the strength. It’s literally like being knocked down and not having the strength to get up...KNOWING you don’t have the strength. Knowing so much so that you give up and begin to get confused. Confused about if you won or not. Confused about if it took you out. Confused about the whole thing. Then God comes and literally snatches you out and pulls you in. It’s nothing in the world like that. I want that for my family! I want that for myself everyday but I truly want that for my family! My mom, my auntie, my granny. So many people are affected by this one life and it was taken so quickly. I want them to feel the Holy Spirit and the gifts it brings!! I want them to feel it everyday and especially times like these. I sometimes don’t know what to say or what to feel or even what to do but I know the feeling I get when the Holy Spirit has his way is one worth telling the world about!! I have to be strong for a lot of reasons! But I can’t do that without God and neither can any of us. He just opened my eyes so much with this one. It’s crazy because you gotta experience it to understand. So it sound crazy to tell people about your experience cause they gone either believe you or not but we gotta start advocating for God whether people believe it or not. People need to know and BE REMINDED!!! Everyday we NEED to be reminded and checked to allow the Holy Spirit in our life! We have to remind our brothers and sisters that God has us. I love my family so much and I truly admire their strength. They teach me so much even if I don’t talk to them their life influences mine. I don’t think we truly realize the strength we have. The gifts God has given us. Who we truly were made to be. I trust that God has a purpose and I know He’s able!! My family will be ok. It’s a tough time and it will get rough! We will have weak days and “a little bit better” days. But my God will see us through!!

So I guess I’m praying for God to come into the homes he’s built in the bodies of those who are in Christ. Make His presence known in the world. Expose His light. Give us a dose of His love that we can’t fathom. Show us that you reign over the fish and the sea and the very lights in the sky to govern day and night. God comfort us!! We your children are hurting. We are hurting and crying tears of pure pain. We are watching a world who does not love you and we are weeping. Asking you to come into our hearts, lives, relationships, finances, business, parking at the grocery store God HAVE YOUR WAY!!!! Help us to make room for you!! Help us to clear the path for you to take root!!! Help us to clear the path for you to plant seed!! God shift our FOCUS! Block out distractions. You know what we need and provide it as providers do. Give us tunnel vision to your throne. Give us grace father that we are conscious of that we may not get discouraged or feel like any giant is too big. Help us to know perfection is not achievable in the life and in the next life you need Jesus to achieve it! That no matter what we can’t do it on our own. That no matter what we need you. God help us to humble ourselves and look to you. Help us to learn to be in agreement with your will. That our will be laid at the alter. That our life be sacrificed at the alter. That our mind be sacrificed at the alter. And we get more and more of you! Fill us up beyond an overflow and God you know your name will be praised because you are so worthy to be praised and above you there is proven to be none other. Bless and keep my beautiful family.
