The Fight with Tom at the Plaza Hotel
Gatsby tells Daisy to leave Tom and says that she never really loved him. Tom gets very angry, and Daisy doesn’t want to say anything.
This is a very important moment in the book. Gatsby is so sure that Daisy will leave Tom and be with him, but he is wrong. Gatsby doesn’t understand that Daisy has changed, and she cannot go back to the past. When he tells Daisy to tell Tom that she doesn’t love him anymore, Daisy gets scared and doesn’t do it. This moment shows how desperate Gatsby is to have things go the way he wants. He’s still stuck in the past, thinking everything can be perfect again, but Daisy is not the same person she was before. She can’t make the choice Gatsby wants because she is not as sure about their love as he is. This moment is sad for Gatsby because it shows how hard he is trying, but how he still doesn’t see the truth. He can’t accept that things are different now.

The Big Parties
Gatsby has huge, fancy parties that lots of people go to, even though he doesn't know most of them.
Gatsby’s big parties show that he really wants Daisy to come. He spends a lot of money on food, music, and decorations, hoping Daisy will notice him and come to his party. Even though the parties are fun and exciting, they are empty. Gatsby doesn’t care about the people at the parties , he only cares about impressing Daisy. He thinks that if he shows off how rich he is, Daisy will love him again. This shows that Gatsby believes money and big events will make people love him. But it also shows that the parties are a way for him to feel less lonely. He spends so much time trying to impress others, but deep down, he is very lonely and sad. The parties are loud and full of people, but Gatsby is still waiting for the one person he wants the most.

Jay Gatsby
Jay Gatsby is a man who believes in his dreams and in love. He was born as James Gatz and changed his name to Jay Gatsby to have a better life. He worked hard to get rich because he thought if he had money, Daisy would love him again. Gatsby is loyal, hopeful, and always trying to reach his goals, but he also makes a lot of mistakes.
He cares about love and success more than anything, but he often ignores what is real. Gatsby spends his whole life trying to make the past with Daisy come back, thinking he can make everything perfect again. He does many things, like becoming rich and having big parties, just to get Daisy to notice him. He gives up everything for a dream that will never come true. In the end, Gatsby’s problems happen because he can’t forget the past and can’t accept the truth about his life. He keeps believing in something that isn’t real, and that leads to his sad end.
