The American consumer doesn’t actually want trucks and cars that are huge enough that you can’t see a six foot tall person over the hood. They make vehicles that big now to avoid environmental regulations related to engine efficiency

Here are my little children… sitting around a small fire we lit in the darkness, surrounded by the deafening sounds of bombing and the constant roar of warplanes.
We try to cook them something—no matter how unhealthy or contaminated—just to ease their hunger before they sleep, trembling from fear and pain.
Their innocent eyes plead for a savior to reach out with a lifeline… someone to help create a GoFundMe account to rescue them from this hunger and devastation. 💔

i don’t know how to explain to you people that no matter what a country’s government is like i do not and will not support the US indiscriminately bombing that country’s civilians and i don’t know why that’s a controversial take tbh

Help Ghada and his family among the Gaza genocide!
vetted by @gazavetters, GFM is #6 on the spreadsheet
I've spoken to Ghada many times before about him and his family currently surviving in Gaza. In particular, we've spoken about Iman, a young girl with osteoporosis who desperately needed mobility aids to get around without significant pain and injury. As Ghada put it,
Unfortunately, this is the reality in war and destruction - personal items are so easily lost and destroyed as Israel continues their genocide. For a child so young to have lost so much, even her mobility, is devastating, but you can help them buy young Iman another device to help her regain some small semblance of independence and pain relief in this difficult, difficult time.
Ghada's family and community is also suffering from immense hunger as aid continues to be shut out from Gaza. Food is expensive and dangerous to come by. You can help them feed themselves, too, with even just a few dollars towards their GoFundMe.
Any amount helps. Thank you!

Trump says there is good news regarding Gaza and that a deal is very close.
Netanyahu says we will achieve the goals of the war and eliminate Hamas.
And I say: I am hungry, I am hungry, I am hungry.

Living a happy and healthy life as a trans person means that at some point, you will have to stand up for yourself. You will have to shed the people-pleasing nature that has kept you safe for all these years. You will have to stop smiling through the million tiny cuts inflicted on you by people who claim to love you. That may mean those people drop the knives. Or it may mean that you stop showing up to family game night and Christmas dinner ready and willing to bleed. But one way or another, you will have to do it if you are ever going to live a happy and healthy life.
And some people will hate you for this far more than they hate you for being trans.

Meet Ahmad Aldany
Ahmad Aldany is a disabled teenager living in Gaza. He was born into this world already a victim of the Israeli occupation, with lifelong health conditions impacting his bones from exposure in utero to gas from a phosphorus bomb fired in 2008.
Two years ago, Israel destroyed his home and displaced his family, forcing them, like so many other Palestinians, into a life of instability--moving from place to place in search of safety.
He witnessed horrific scenes no child should ever see: destruction, and constant fear. Ahmed wakes up at night to the sound of explosions and screams at the top of his voice because he is afraid.
The healthcare infrastructure was decimated, leaving him unable to receive the treatment he needs for his disability.
Now, the famine has become so severe that he goes long days without eating.
Donate to His Campaign
He started a campaign to raise funds for food, medicine, and to eventually travel to safety.
VETTED: @gazavetters in line (#198)
Ahmed has raised €5,240 so far, but he needs much more to be able to secure afford food for his family, get the treatment he needs, and eventually get to safety.
Share his story
He needs visibility on his campaign. Please donate what you can, share this message, and if you can, offer to write him a post to share his story with others.

Help Us Evacuate Gaza
Hello everyone, I am Ghazi Alamoudi from the northern Gaza Strip, displaced in Deir Al-Balah, and living in a tent with my family.😢🥺

My family and I are facing unimaginable hardship due to the ongoing war in Gaza. We have lost our home, my career, and our sense of safety. Now, we are living in a small tent, trying to survive each day amidst the chaos and destruction.
Before the war, I worked as an instructional designer, building a future for my family. But that life has been shattered. We are now desperate to find safety and start over. But we need your help. We are trying to raise funds to escape Gaza and rebuild our lives in a place where we can finally find peace.
Before — This was my life before the war, filled with hope and promise.

After — This is what remains after the destruction.

What once stood as a symbol of hope, my Home is now nothing but shattered walls and debris. I had just finished building our home, a place where I could finally feel safe. But in the blink of an eye, everything was destroyed by the ongoing war. The sounds of explosions filled the air, and I fled with nothing but the clothes on our backs. Now, where our memories and dreams once lived, all that remains is devastation.

Absolute, total violence is in fact the innermost logic of speciesism. Beneath the mockery, the eye winking, the ridicule, there lies a barely disguised sadism and lust for power. Speciesism is not, in the final analysis, merely a set of mistaken beliefs, a prejudice; it is the idea of murder itself, the affirmation of mass killing as the central organizing principle of human life.
"The Animal of Bad Faith: Speciesism as an Existential Project", John Sanbonmatsu

A Family's Unending Journey for Safety in Gaza
My name is Mohammed, and I’m 35 years old, working as a nurse in a hospital here in Gaza. My wife, Diana, is 27, and together we’re trying to give our two young daughters a safe, stable life in a place that knows so little of either.

Our journey began in December 2023. That was when the military ordered us to evacuate our home in Al-Nuseirat. With only minutes to decide, we grabbed what we could carry, took our little girls, and moved to Khan Yunis, hoping it would be safer.

But our time there was short. We were ordered to leave Khan Yunis, so we packed up again and moved to Rafah. For a moment, we let ourselves hope that this would be the end of our running, that maybe we could start to rebuild. But Rafah wasn't safe either. Another order came, and we had no choice but to return to Al-Nuseirat, despite the dangers.

Today, we're renting a small apartment in Al-Nuseirat. It barely fits us, but it's the only place we can go. We live every day in fear, wondering if the next evacuation order will come. Each move takes away a bit more of the stability we try so hard to create for our girls. Every time we’re forced to flee, it feels like we leave behind pieces of the life we’ve worked to build.

There’s little left to hold on to but each other, and the hope that maybe one day we’ll finally find safety.
