— The only reason his eyes weren’t currently rolling into the back of his head was because of the physical.. limitations.. eyes have. The barrage of hoops and hollers from the far too cocky dog across the street made his lip curl. A truce had been struck between their species, and apparently that meant free roam for the dogs to be dogs and heckle vampires whilest they wandered out to feed. This was not the night to try and interrupt his meal, though. He hadn’t fed properly for days, and his patience was wearing thinner by the minute.      He tried to tune them out, tried to keep on his own path with his hands anchored in his coat pockets to hide his claws… but the further he went, the louder they became, finally snapping something inside him. His upper lip curling to flash his fangs in the moonlight as a sharp growl rumbled deep in his throat. With his next step he disappeared from sight, the young mutt visibly perturbed, doing their best to sniff him out, but they were far too slow. Far too untrained compared to his centuries of practice.      With their next blink he’d become their shadow. One hand roughly grasping a fistful of their hair, yanking their head back. His free hand dragging its claws along their bared their neck. “Careful,” he snarled with his large, pureblood fangs as they tried to struggle away, only making his claws dig into them more. “One wrong move and you’ll lose your head.~” He huskily cooed through his growls that had dulled just enough to let him speak. His eyes shifting down to their neck before returning to their features that were now locked in his grasp. “Surely you aren’t out here trying to ruin a truce so newly struck.. are you~?” Eyebrows falsely curled, a façade of hurt emotion layered on top of a dangerous tease.

“I was able to guess that death by sunlight wasn’t a real thing” Hyunseong had been curious about a few things, unable to help it, but it seemed that maybe he had struck a nerve with his questions “How would you manage passing as human if you were to turn into dust in the sun?” that was what had spurred his question, with him wondering if that wasn’t true then what else wasn’t. It was all innocent curiosity, nothing said with any bad intentions, in the same way he would try to answer any questions Donghyun might have about mutants.

“That’s why I was curious, if that wasn’t true I was wondering what else was wrong too. I know that literature can exaggerate and fabricate but now that I know vampires are real I guessed that some things must have been inspired by reality” he let out a small laugh “But from the sounds of things very little was inspired by real vampires”

--- Their curiosity may have spurred a roll of his eyes, but he did still find it amusing. If mortals knew more about his kind, maybe they’d hang their torches and pitchforks from the old days, and actually learn a thing or two from someone who’s quite literally been alive for c e n t u r i e s. Perhaps their race as a whole wouldn’t be so doomed to failure as they’ve shown to be time and time again. “Very little,” he chimed in agreement before continuing,  “Most of what’s been told in mortal literature came from the scary bedtime stories parents would tell their children centuries ago when our covens still ruled to keep them from wandering onto our lands.” Giving a small shrug of his shoulders, vaguely hinting at just how horrid his kind was back then. Never admitting their role in countless disappearances. 

“I’m curious of you now, though.” He hummed with a small quirk of his head, one finger under his chin in thought.  “Your kind is not something we were ever aware of.. I think if we knew of it back in my early years, the covens might’ve wiped them all out, afraid they’d challenge our rule.” A brow raised slightly as he tried to put himself back in a mindset similar to his days as a young prince before bringing himself back to the present to continue his thought. “Is there anything that tells of when your kind first became known?”

I just wanted to post this.. “update” because it involves interactions with Donghyun. I didn’t have this on my rules page before, but I hope you all understand why it’s on there now. I knew that writing for a vampire, violent interactions, fights, etc would most likely occur, and I thought I could handle it because I love vampires so much, and especially with Donghyun that’s been a huge part of his existence.. but as I’ve realized recently; those are actually really triggering for me, and I’m not at all comfortable writing out threads like that. I’ve been actively avoiding my drafts here lately because one thread got to me a little too much and I didn’t want to keep seeing it while looking at the others and have it keep triggering my depression. I just.. saw things as a kid that kids shouldn’t have to see and my mind is royally fucked up because of it and I have to deal with that the best I can. TL;DR Despite having a vampire muse, I’m not comfortable writing out fights or violent interactions because they’re really triggering for me. I hope you all understand.
