Listening to the other's words brought back memories of his own. Everyone had their own experiences after all. It wasn't unnatural to feel familiar but were their issues cut from the same cloth?
Gambit's expression remained serious as he considered the offer.
“I won't turn down de help but dis is clearly trouble, mon cher. You sure you're not bitin' more t'an you can chew?”
He was half-joking, knowing well the Red Hulk was strong. But the thought of being in debt with him didn't sound good at all.
“I lost a device dat McCoy made, it enhances one's abilities t'a certain degree. It's pretty obvious what de crimelord who has it will use it for...”

He fell quiet for a second, allowing the silence between them to linger for a moment as a yellow smile came to him. The Hulk had a point.
“Errm... it's a long story.” Once the inquiry was made, he reflected on his actions hours ago.
He had lost an important item the X-Men had created. To top it off it was on a Poker table.
Remy wasn't used to losing like that, it almost felt cheated.
“Ever lost somethin' you weren't supposed to? Well! I'm out here t'get back what i lost.”
He averted his eyes back to the other, his mind running with doubts but in the end only one question was voiced.
“What is it to you, though?”

The professor had tasked Remy with gathering more mutants and bringing them in, should they want to. He was aware joining the X-Men would be a change for anyone, but was it a desirable thing? It surely came with its pros and cons, but he wasn't one to overthink or make other's decisions.
He knew there was a mutant working at that high-end club and decided to pay her a visit.
The place's atmosphere was lively even without many people that night, which surprised him.
He was there on business, but everyone was eye-candy. It made him want to loosen up too.
For some reason, the Cajun couldn't take off his eyes of a specific dancer. Something about her just stood out, call it a hunch, but he believed she was the mutant there.
His gaze followed her every movement, soon he rose from his seat and tagged behind her to the bar.
“You surely know how t'put on a show, don't you? Somethin’ 'bout your moves back dere aren't at all... ordinary.” He began, finally stopping on his tracks besides the other.
He was usually so eloquent, yet now Remy felt troubled. How should he go about that? He couldn't just say they wanted her to become an X-Men.
“You're a mutant. Correct?” He asked in a hushed tone, unsure how people there would react to that.
“What should i call ya?”

The club wasn’t overly busy, but that suited Ali just fine. It meant she could give the people watching her dance the attention they craved.
This was a higher end club, she’d worked her way up from the dives where she’d learned the ropes, which meant better tips from her admirers.
She knew most of them, had slept with most of them even- for a price, and knew what they liked.
Her outfit was more stick on jewels than clothes and they caught the light with her every movement.
If she added a few subtle special effects with her powers, well, no one was the wiser.
She finished her dance and headed through the seats to the bar for a drink.

He tilted his head to the side ever-so-slightly, a pensive expression finding its way to his visage. Remy tried to recall what these monsters should look like, his lively imagination doing more than it should to help. But alas, he hasn't seen anything unusual per se.
“Depends, mon ami, I heard weird rumors lately. De locals are sayin' dat a demon's roaming around here at night.” He began, shuffling his deck before going on.
“I came here t'investigate, but lady luck hasn't smiled upon me yet.”
For all he knew, it could be just baseless rumors that shouldn't be minded. But it didn't change the fact a few people went missing in the vicinity.
He's seen the other before, that was the only thing that made him less suspicious of their presence there.
“Anyways, dat doesn't really answer my question. Must you keep me in de dark, monsieur?”

He didn't pay much attention to it at first, however as it continued he had no other choice other than want to check it out, the X-Man's curiosity mildly stired.
“I know you're dere, as loud as you were...” He pointed out, removing his hands from his trenchcoat only to reveal a set of cards.
Nonchalant steps are taken, carrying him closer to the dark spot he assumed the reader was in.

𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐓𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐌𝐄 𝐆𝐎 👀.
okay so i got like, three books delivered this week, and in anticipation i reread another book that i had, and lads, let me tell ye, it was like quicksand. so now i have a list, some from my head, many from my wonderful friends’ heads, of prompts that basically made us all very soft or very “pleasantly scandalized rich lady from the sixties who just found out a juicy bit of goss about the new neighbor”. i hope ye like them! (DO NOT ADD TO THE LIST. I WILL MAKE A PART TWO. AND THREE. AND FOUR. MANY MANY PARTS. EVENTUALLY. )
[ HAIR ]: sender slowly reaches out to catch a loose strand of the receiver’s hair and tuck it gently and securely back behind their ear, letting their touch linger afterwards. (if the receiver has short hair, then the sender reaches out and gently runs their fingers through their hair to smooth it back.)
[ CLOSE ]: while standing remarkably close to one another, the sender is unable to stop themselves from running their gaze across the receiver’s body, lingering for a moment on their lips, before returning to initiate prolonged, intense eye contact.
[ CHIN ]: as they stand close to one another, the sender hooks a finger and tenderly lifts the receiver’s chin, tilting it up so that they can look at one another, and running a thumb across their skin lightly.
[ THUMB ]: while cupping the receiver’s cheek in their hand, the sender slowly glides their thumb across their cheekbone in a tender, sweeping caress.
[ WOUND ]: upon noticing a recent injury on the receiver’s person, the sender carefully moves closer, running a thumb (or hand) across the wound in a gentle, troubled manner.
[ INHALE ]: while standing in very close quarters to the receiver, the sender shakily inhales with desire/anticipation as they realize how intimately close they are to one another.
[ DANCE ]: when alone together (e.g. the bedroom, the kitchen, literally anywhere once they’re alone) the sender takes the receiver’s hand, and pulls them into a graceful yet intimate dance as a spontaneous act.
[ BARE ]: as they get undressed, the sender gently places a soft, tender kiss against the receiver’s bare shoulder.
[ SCAR ]: noticing a scar on the receiver’s skin, the sender tentatively stops them from covering it up, and rests a gentle, soft kiss over it.
[ FOREHEAD ]: placing a hand on the back of the receiver’s neck, the sender guides them close and rests their foreheads together.
[ PALM ]: taking the receiver’s hand, the sender brings it to their mouth, and places a tender kiss against the receiver’s palm.
[ LINGER ]: taking the receiver’s hand, the sender lifts it to their lips, and gently kisses their knuckles, lingering for a moment before withdrawing.
[ BEHIND ]: upon entering the same room as the receiver, the sender steps behind them, and winds their arms around the receiver’s waist, drawing them close against them.
[ WAIT ]: realizing the receiver is about to leave the room, the sender hastily reaches out and catches their wrist, preventing them from continuing their departure.
[ ARM ]: after holding their hand, the sender releases the receiver, but slowly glides their hand up the full length of their arm, lingering on the upper arm, then the shoulder, then resting their touch against the side of their neck.
[ HOLD ]: while close to the receiver, the sender wordlessly takes a hold of their hand, for no other purpose than to be holding it.
[ PLAY ]: while sitting together, the sender absently lifts the receiver’s hand, idly running their fingertips across the lines of their palms, mapping out every inch of their hand with slow, lazy touches.
[ GUIDE ]: in the process of guiding the receiver through a crowded place, the sender’s hand protectively grazes against the small of their back
[ TOUCH ]: while touching the receiver’s waist, the sender’s hand briefly dips beneath the hem of their shirt, skimming briefly across the bare skin of their waist.
[ CUP ]: bringing both hands up to cup the receiver’s face, the sender draws them in closer to them in order to get a better look at their face.
[ TUG ]: the sender tugs the receiver close against them by resting a hand against the small of their back, pulling them flush against their body.
[ HUSH ]: while standing close to one another and hiding from pursuers, the sender reaches up and places a finger against the receiver’s lips to prevent them from speaking and revealing their location.
[ WRAP ]: when sitting astride a horse/motorcycle/etc. together, the sender reaches back, takes the receiver’s wrists, and gently pulls their arms around the sender’s waist in an embrace designed to keep the receiver safe, despite feeling remarkably intimate.

Gambit was treading along the alleyway, his ears picking up sound but his peculiar set of eyes failing to spot the reader. They're the source of the sound perhaps?
He didn't pay much attention to it at first, however as it continued he had no other choice other than want to check it out, the X-Man's curiosity mildly stired.
“I know you're dere, as loud as you were...” He pointed out, removing his hands from his trenchcoat only to reveal a set of cards.
Nonchalant steps are taken, carrying him closer to the dark spot he assumed the reader was in.
“Question is: what kinda trouble are ya up to?”

Seeing how pale her face had become brought worry to his visage. The cajun soon becoming, distressed. He felt he did something incredibly stupid, maybe even more than he initially assumed it were.
His lips parted to speak in his defense, but Rogue's words poured out. Her tone made him curious too. Why did she react that way?
Could the item be connected to her somehow.
“I will get it back! Don't worry.” He tried to sound convincing, despite the unsure tone he assumed.
“You got all worked up... it's jus' a collar. No piece o' jewelry or anythin'.” He added, offering a yellow smile as he raised his hands in the air.
But Remy knew better than that, for Anna Marie to react in such a way it was bound to have a deeper meaning.
“What does t'is collar do anyways? D'ya know?”

She can tell by the way the other is looking at her that they're just itching to say something. People tend to have a certain look on their face when they're trying to hold back something that's on the tip of their tongue. Whatever it is, she'd prefer to get it out in the open than endure the other's uncomfortable scrutiny.

The Cajun's was just wrestling with his tormented thoughts, thinking of the best way to tell her what happened. It wasn't easy, to say the least.
Remy hardly ever lost when gambling or playing for keeps.
He had lost one of Hank's newest inventions on a poker table, and now the item would be auctioned at an auction house.
Although he thought of getting it back by himself, he figured his chances were better with Rogue by his side. Telling the events to her wasn't going to be easy, he was certainly in for an earful.
"W-Well, i might've lost somethin' important."
He began, trying to smooth his way out of that.
"It's de weird collar dat Hank made last week... de man's gon' be mad, ain't he?"

"Hey, Gumbo's mighty good! How else are ya supposed to react when dat happens?" He joked, trying to lighten the mood.
He'd press on with the lie, but something he did changed his goals completely.
His peculiar eyes looked up at her, studying her expression.
There it was⸺ the worry he loathed to cause on others, especially Rogue.
But there was one way to make it better, and it was telling the truth.
A sigh leaves his lips as Gambit rose from his seat.
"Let's go fo' a walk? I'll tell you all 'bout it."
He took the lead, trying to find the right way to convey his troubles. Even with all his education, sometimes words eluded him when around the other. He was usually so smooth and eloquent but Rogue could make it all go down the wire sometimes.
"You remember our last mission? De robots attackin' us? I feel i know who might be behind it." Remy began.
"But it's hard ta believe 'cause it was a former friend. I don't think he'd do dat, knowin' how much i treasure y'all. But de way it all happened... it has t'be."

The wind blowing would make his auburn locks move along with it.
A refreshing breeze was always welcome and Remy was usually appreciative of it, however, this time he didn't voice anything.
he seemed to be lost in thoughts all alone.
In the ballroom of his mind, scenes played of the previous mission his team had to see through to the end.
Despite everything ending well, things were escalating quickly with the mysterious culprit who was sending machines to attack them.
Remy had a hunch he knew who was behind it!
Before he could sink deeper into his thoughts, @down-home-charm 's voice rang out.
"...feelin' fine, I'd say." The Cajun lied, offering his signature smile.
Why was he putting on a brave front?
"Why⸺ are ya worried 'bout dis good olʼ Cajun?" He teased, his smile growing accentuated.
