With a pleased half-smirk Vivian reached for his arm to hold it. If he was already worried about something as simple as flowers, Robert seemed to be trying really hard to make her like him. Not that she didn’t like it. Quite the opposite actually. “If you had sent me three bouquets… every hour… every day. That would have been too much.”
Almost - just almost - she asked him if he was nervous, but she assumed it would only make it worse and it wasn’t on her mindset to ruin his confidence. This was already adorable enough. Giggling Vivian nudged him in the side. “Oh come on! Would it help your pride if I told you it was cheesy but kinda cute?”
Robert grinned as Vivian reached out and took his arm. That was certainly a good sign, if the smirk and smiling wasn’t a tell-tale sign. “Oh yeah, that would have been insane.” Robert couldn’t even imagine sending that much. It would be chaotic.
“It would a bit.” He grinned. At least he wasn’t making a complete fool of himself. He had no idea what the date could bring, or would bring. But he hoped it would be good. And he hoped that it wouldn’t end with Scar breathing down his neck. “I hope you are excited to see the act.”

vivian-vitani-xavier:
Humming quietly to herself Vivian sat on the sofa in her apartment. Her fingers were drumming against the back of her phone, while she scrolled through the messages she had been sending back and forth with her best friend. It was successfully distracting her from looking at the time.
As soon it knocked, Vivian let the phone drop into her purse and she pushed herself up to walk over to the door to open it. The smile immediately crawled onto her lips and she leaned forward to place a kiss on his cheek. Partially as greeting, partially as sign of gratefulness.
“Hey! Thank you for sending those flowers. They’re beautiful.” Her eyes wandered to her watch and she couldn’t help the teasing smile. “Is it a royal rule to be perfectly on time?”
Robert smiled as wide as he possible could as the door swung open. “Hey you.” Rob grinned and returned the kiss on the cheek, he wondered why he had ever been so nervous. Vivian was so different from anyone else he had ever been with, she was refreshing. Fun. Excitement.
He needed all those things. “I’m glad you like them, I wasn’t sure if it was too much.” Rob laughed as she held out his arm for her to hold. “No, I just want to make every moment of the date count.” He paused. “God that sounded cheesy, excuse me while I question my head and escort you to the tent.” Rob grinned.

|| Date Night ||
Robert stood outside of Vivian’s apartment, his hands tapping on the side of his legs as he tried to drum up the courage to knock on the door. He was a little bit early, and he didn’t want to seem too eager. Or should he knock? Rob had no idea, so he waited until his phone read the meeting time.
He knocked on the door. Three knocks for good measure.
Rob pushed a hand though his hair as he wondered what the date would bring. He hadn’t been to this tent before, not properly anyway, so he was excited to see what would happen during the performance.

“Right. It’s quite cool really. Like an elementary school reunion.” Gus chuckled. He was quite glad that King Bob, well Robert had crossed his way. “Caught my eye?” Gus repeated with a hint of confusion. “I’m not sure. I think I was distracted by Spinelli being here and Gretchen coming back so soon.” Not to mention the inner panic of his father’s reaction to Gus leaving the army. “I passed a few people who’re like… nice to look at, but… you know. I don’t know anything about them. Did you really find someone interesting within the first few days you were here? Is that even possible?”
Robert nodded his head with a grin. He wondered who else would turn up. “Actually, I did. It was why I asked.” Rob laughed as he thought about all the people he met at the circus. Jane was really nice, and of course Vivian was too. “Well, I’m glad you’re here.” Rob admitted with a wide grin. It was nice to have an old friend to talk to.

“From the fact you are already nervous and the look on your face, you’re bound to screw something up. Just pray she doesn’t notice.”
“I don’t want to screw anything up. I just want to take her on a nice date.”

“Did I stutter?” He was unimpressed by how unaffected Robert seemed by his threats. Perhaps he just didn’t see how dangerous it was to be dating his sister. “I’ll be kind to you, Rob, but not when it comes to my sister. I’ll tolerate you, then. I don’t think many people are worthy of Vivian, and you are no exception. At least not now when you’ve done fuck all to prove yourself.” He rolled his eyes. “You should really take me more seriously. She might be my sister, but there’s nothing she can do or say to keep me in check if you piss me off.” He smirked briefly before backing off again. “Treat her right and we won’t have a problem, okay? Good luck on the date.” He left out the bit that he would probably have someone keeping an eye on them.
Scar was harsh, his words were blunt and Robert wondered whether he was meant to cower in fear. But that wasn’t what he would do. Robert had met his fair share of people who liked to throw around threats. Scar seemed the sort to go through with it, but why should that make him cower away from Vivian? “And how would I prove myself to you?” Robert tilted his head and crossed his arms. “I will treat her right.” He nodded firmly. “Thank you.”

“Right” he looked at the man “So who’s this date with” he paused “It’s kind of important to know if you bring them to a bar or if you don’t”
“Vivian.” Rob said with a grin. “We’re going to one of the tent shows, Wonderland I think.”

Scar shrugged a shoulder. “At least he wouldn’t have questioned me so much. He had his uses, that’s for sure. It’d be nice if you had yours. But as far as I can tell, you’re just going to end up being some plaything.” He stepped forward, his distaste for the man in front of him rolling off him in waves. “You might have been kind to me once, but let me warn you now. Vivian is the only blood family I tolerate, let alone will stand up for. So if you so much as think about her in a way that I don’t approve of, I’ll know. And I’ll hunt you down and make you into a pretty meal for my pets. Pigs eat everything, you know.”
“A play thing?” Robert raised an eyebrow as he looked to Scar. A question loomed over his head, but he decided not to say anything more on that matter. Instead, he focused on what Scar was actually saying to him. “I’d have no trouble being kind to you. I’d hope to get the same response in return, but I can see that may not be the case.” Robert awkwardly smiled as he wondered what else Scar would threaten. But he trusted Vivian more, and she said she wouldn’t let anything happen. Robert knew he could do something if he really needed to. “I don’t distrust what you say.”

Do you think Scar is giving you real advice or is he actually manipulating you into fucking the date up?
“I think he is being protective over his sister. I don’t think that’s a bad thing.”

“Precisely.” His lip curled up into a sneet at the thought of the man before him sending his baby sister flowers, and he would have gagged if he wasn’t playing nice. “Don’t be nervous with her, just be…more. She needs someone who isn’t exactly willing to bend to her every whim, she needs someone stronger than the last one. Flowers should be enough. Just be a gentleman.”
“Okay, okay…” Robert nodded his head as he thought about what it would mean if he and Vivian did become an item. He smiled to Robert. “I suppose don’t be like the last guy is on the list too.” He had heard about how much Scar disliked Vivian’s former partner.

“A king is never afraid to speak his mind. A king that isn’t able to do that, isn’t a king worthy of his kingdom.” Scar smirked and looked him over. “So what advice is it you needed?”
“I have to agree with that.” Robert said as he leant back. “Kings have to make hard choices. Do what’s best for their peers.” Robert turned back to Scar and smiled. “I’m just… nervous. I sent her flowers, but doing anything else would be over kill wouldn’t it?”

He watched Robert’s expression change and almost grinned in glee. Almost. “I see my reputation precedes me. Did she mention that the last one nearly shit himself every time my name was even whispered? Not to mention when he had to actually speak to me?”
“Something like that.” Rob nodded his head as he stared at Scar. “You’re a guy who isn’t afraid to say what you think.” Robert said with a nod.

His smile never faltered, but something definitely flashed in his eyes. “Yes, she is rather amazing isn’t she? The only sibling I care for at all.”
“She is. She has spoken to me about you before.” Rob tried to flash a grin, but suddenly he became very nervous. Even more so than more.

“Perfect!” Vivian replied instantly. She was excited to be going out with him again and the happiness would only grow with the arrival of the flowers he sent her. Right now, it distracted her successfully from the fact that she should probably have a word with her brother before Rob did. “Can’t wait!”
“Me either.” Rob smiled as he lay back on his sofa with a wide grin. “It’ll be fun.”
Hey Vivian, Rob here. I had fun the other day and I was hoping that you'd wanna go see a show with me sometime?
A bright smile started growing on Vivian’s lips as soon as she read the message. Needless to say, she was happy to hear from him. “I would absolutely love to.”
