Victor felt a little relief at Wesley laughing at his gift, feeling it break the tension a little. âOkay, soâŠummm I wanted to ask first, how are you doing?â he asked âI should have been here as soon as I could, but I had to work on a lot of things about myself, but I never stopped thinking about you and thatâs why I wanted to come here Wesley. I have a lot to explain to you. About meâŠabout usâ
Wesley raised a brow, crossing his arms across his chest and leaning agsint the wall, âwhat?â he questions, âyou just woke up one day and decided to be all bambi eyed and come over here to talk after almost a year? Are you having some sort of mid life crisis?â

Victor was still going over what he wanted to say when Wesley invited him in. Stepping inside he held up the gallon of milk âBrought you a housewarming giftâ he started âfigured Iâd give the cows a day offâ He laughed softly âAnd yeah, theyâre goodâŠI mean I havenât heard anything was wrongâÂ
âIâm sorry I just popped up like this, I should have called, but I was scared you would say no and I wanted to talkâŠif thatâs okay?â
âMilk, nice.â he laughed as he took it and placed it inside his fridge, âwell youâre here now and weâre talking so I donât think you need permission to keep talking. I canât promise I wonât kick you out before youâre done, but youâre welcome to give it a try.â

Wesley had been busy watching an in-depth step by step recipe walk through for a creme brulee. He was just placing the last little mint leaf on top before he heard the door. âone second.â he said before he took a picture and sent his sons proof of his accomplishments.Â
âHey,â Wesley looked up from his phone to find Victor--not exactly who he expected. âsure.â He said stepping aside, âare the kids ok?â
12 Steps // Wesvic
Victor jogged up the stairs of Wesleyâs front door. Stopping just short he took a deep breathe as he did his best to gather his nerves. With hands shaking he held the gift on one hand and rang the doorbell with the other.
The first time seeing the man since they both nearly died he closed his eyes and took several more deep breaths as he waited for Wesley to answer. Smiling softly when the door open and he was face to face with him.
âHey Wes, can I come in?â

Dimitri let go of Kevinâs hand, âwell then no hand-holding. This is casual and not cheesy. Gay is not classy.â he joked as they entered, âSo remind me why weâre going on a double date with these two on valentineâs day again?â
Four Hearts //Red and Kedi
âNow remember, this dinner is all about being classy and non-intimidatingâ Kevin told Dimitri as he held his boyfriendâs hand and headed towards the restaurant  âJed is a great guy, but heâs like one of those animals that get spooked and falls over stupefied. He gets quite and Rhys because the only line we have to communicate with himâ

âStop itâ Caleb laughed and then gestured to the twins âMy brother and sister, the twins, but donât call them that. They hate itâ Abe smiled and walked up to Franklin âI mean I can make an exception for family. Sorry we couldnât make it to your wedding. I bet you looked amazing in a suitâ
âRein it inâ Caleb said.
âI did.â Franklin said with a smile, âBut thatâs okay, Iâm happy to bring it out anytime to show people what they missed out on.â he added, âso, to what do we owe this great pleasure?âÂ
âWell, weâre here to take over the city. Since Caleb is so domesticated now.â

Caleb took a sip of his drink and looked at Anne âTrust me when I say this family has had more then enough drama to last a few lifetimes. Iâm sure Dad filled you in on the important partsâ Abe walked in between the two âYeah, I heard Vic and Romeo got divorced and heâs been MIA for monthsâ
Looking at Abe Caleb was about to say something before he saw Franklin and he gave a sigh of relief âBaby, over here!â
âOh sorry, I thought you were a movie star.â He said as he approached his husband and wrapped an arm around him before leaning in to kiss him. âAnd who are these very bad looking kids?âÂ

âIâll have you know Iâve got the best right hand woman in the businessâ Caleb said âyou two will have to meet. Either youâll be best friends or mortal enemiesâ After Abram and Anne ordered their drinks Caleb got a pressed juice for himself âIsnât that always the case? Short version is yes, but itâs still family so you have to roll with itâ Abram turned his attention from his phone to Caleb âWhat about Uncle Martinâs surprise kids? Whatâs their deal?â
âIâm sure that wonât last, you know unlce Martin. I feel like this family got way too boring. Eveyone is married with babies, nobody is cheating anymore...so dull!â

âA minute is still 60 long secondsâ he said and then rolled his eyes and laughed âI donât know, that white passing comment felt like it at least deserves the cost of a smoothie, but I guess Iâll let it slideâ And looking at Abram he shrugged âThatâs something youâll have to run by Franklin. Heâs in charge of the kidsâ social media presence, but Iâm sure if you tag him or something heâd agreeâ Walking into the cafĂ© he stepped aside so the twins could order.
Anne took in the sight, she had seen pictures but, âyou;ve change the place huh? I mean itâs nice. Could use a womanâs touch but definitely not too bad.â she added, âhowâs the rest of the family? still bonkers?â

âYou always were the smartest of usâ Caleb chuckled and scoffed âDonât forget youâre both older than I am s the only one allowed to make elderly jokes is me, but yeah, heâs looking forward to meeting both of you. Something about wanting to see other real black folks besides the twinsâ Laughing, Abram nodded âSpeaking of, any chance I can get a few picks with the little ones for Insta? I know my followers would love itâ
âIâm older by a minute, relax.â She spit back, âSo true, important for us to stick together. Youâre way too white passing, itâs not great for the cause.â she teased, anyway, I donât have to pay for that smoothie, right?â

Caleb cringed âI thought we talked about that nickname when I was 15âł he said and hugged her back âOf course, probiotics too. Gut health is important you knowâ He patted Abram on the shoulder âGood to see you both, itâs been way too longâ As he lead them to the cafe he looked at Anne âNo, but running a hotel and also running after two toddlers is probably the best workout everâ
âugh youâre so right, specially with the food here in new york. I always have to carry tums with me.â She said as he leaned back, âI always forget youâe such an old man. Howâs Franklin? Is he coming to greet us too?â

âThis is the real worldâ Abe said as he signed off and told his followers heâd keep them updated âjust because you refuse to join us in the 21st century doesnât mean we all have to sufferâ he teased. Now that his sister mentioned it he was feeling hungry âNo, his bacon cheeseburgerâ Abe corrected âIâd kill for one of those right nowâ
âOur restaurant makes pretty good burgers and juicesâ Caleb said as he walked up to the two âYou finally made it, dad was getting worriedâ
âKeke!â Anne said as she rushed over to hug her brother, âwould love that juice though. You have any antioxidants? Wait, did you lose weight?â

absoluteconstructâ:Abe, with the phone held up smiled into the screen âWell, here we are peopleâ he said to his Instagram live followers âFinally here in NYC and you boy looking to run this city soon enoughâ As the bellhops took his bag he looked at his sister âDonât let Caleb hear that, you know how he takes everything the wrong wayâ Remembering that he was streaming he winked at the camera âThatâs just between us peopleâ
Anne rolled her eyes as she watched her brother, âI think theyâve seen enough. How about you put that down and join us back here in the real world?â she said as she saw the staff begin to carry in heaps of luggage, âugh Iâm staving. Could go for one of dadâs green juices right now.â

welcome back xoxo
Anne set down her purse, the only piece of luggage she was carrying. Not because she couldnât, she knew she probably lifted heavier weights than the male bellhops here, but fuck the patriarchy. âThis is nice I guess. The pictures looked a little nicer though...â

âI wasnât thinking about it all happening at the screening, but maybe something like a barbeque. Nothing intense or anything like thatâ The song turned to the next one with a faster tempo âYou should let Sam stand on your feet at the dance. It would be cuteâ
Jed shook his head, âI still havenât agreed to doing the dance. I actually feel more confident about not doing it now.âÂ

âI know we tried it in Texas, but things were really bad thenâ Rhys said âa lot of anger and pain and I think weâve worked through that, at least for the most part and this is Sam and Kaiâs family, I want them to not feel like they have to choose sidesâ
âLook, you do this at least once every quarter so if you want to do it, do it. You know the kids and I will be there, but weâre getting seats far from the drama so they can actually enjoy the movie.â

âNo need to go running for the hillsâ Rhys chuckled âI was just thinking we can use this screening to help move things along. Papa Victor and Wes havenât seen one another since the hospital and I was thinking maybe we could have likeâŠa family reunion kind of think. Invite Caleb, Franking and the kids. Cass and RomeoâŠreally do it upâ
Jed let out a whistle, âis it a good idea or is it a terrible idea? I mean I appreciate your good intentions but knowing your family, someone will definitely walk off crying or arrested.â

âConnor?â Rhys repeated as they kept moving âYou know he adores Sam and Kai so it wouldnât be a problem getting a private screeningâ he told him âwhich actually gives me a pretty good ideaâŠbut I might need your helpâ
Jed paused, looking at Rhys cautiously, âyou know thatâs very scary...whatâs your idea?â
