The insanely over-the-top introduction provided by Heinous's herald, ending with Heinous pummeling the guy.
“Enough of that! They already know who I am!”
The scene when Okiname tries to fix the generator.
Okiname: Let me peruse this — [accidentally electrocutes himself] Kouki: ...What do ya think? Okiname: I think I saw the gods.
During the final showdown, Ebb and Flo find themselves being chased by a mob of Grouchies. When they get cornered, Ebb grabs a large flower, cocks it like a shotgun and points it at the Grouchies.
Ebb: All right, nobody move! This thing’s loaded. I’ll let ya have it! Grouchies: (Run away performing the best girly scream ever)
During the climax, Heinous tries to shoot the gang, but flowers pop out of his gun instead. In desperation, he grabs a machine gun from the nearest mook and opens fire-except even more flowers shoot out. Heinous then throws the gun to the ground and begins strangling the poor guy for no good reason other than sheer frustration. The look on the Grouchie’s face when Heinous comes for him really sells it.
“IT’S NO USE! THE BULLETS ARE JUST BURSTING INTO BLOOOOOOOOOOOOM!”
The staff admitted this scene had people falling out of their chairs during the premiere showing.

DVD Summary
“When color disappears... imagination must lead the way!”
Get swept away on a dazzling adventure across the magical Faerie Sea in The Kingdom of Lost Colors! When Prismia—a hidden island where toys, dreams, and stories come alive—is attacked by the dreary Grouchies and drained of its color, only one hope remains: a legendary book, a brave sailor doll, and two curious siblings from the human world.
Join Tamako and Kouki as they team up with the sassy parrot Marziparla, the delightfully odd Eloise Poppleton (and her maybe-imaginary friend, Twindle), a wisecracking sea dragon named Okiname, and the fishy twins Ebb and Flo. From floating reefs to toy citadels, from wild musical rebellions to a final face-off with the fearsome Lord Heinous, this unforgettable journey reminds us that creativity can conquer gloom—and that friendship comes in every shape, size, and splash of color.
Bursting with heart, humor, and hand-painted magic, The Kingdom of Lost Colors is a kaleidoscopic tale for all ages!

The Kingdom of Lost Colors
Prismia is a colorful island kingdom of living toys and other nonhuman beings located in the magical Faerie Sea, protected by its leader, Lady Rainbow. One day, the island falls under a surprise attack from the dreaded Grouchies, led by Lord Heinous. The attack starts with a glass globe that imprisons Rainbow, allowing the Grouchies to drain the island of color. In the last minutes before her capture, Prismia’s mayor, Crysta, sends the sailor doll Skipper, along with his parrot, Marziparla off in his ship, the Oriana, to find help from the holder of the last copy of “The Book of Prismia”, which holds the key to the island’s salvation.
Skipper and Marziparla travel to Enoshima, where Tamako Umino and her little brother, Kouki, visit a used bookstore, where they come across the Book of Prismia. That night, the siblings are visited by Skipper and Marziparla, who persuade the children to return to Prismia with them. After some consideration, Tamako and Kouki decide to help Skipper and Marziparla, and journey with him back to Prismia aboard the Oriana. Entering the Faerie Sea, the siblings are transformed into anthropomorphic cats as a side-effect. The three visit various islands on their way to Prismia:
The Isle of Beasts, where Kouki accidentally presses the forbidden panic button, and Tamako gets swept off the Oriana, until she is rescued by Okiname, a dragon-like monster who joins them on the quest.
Blanko Sandbar, where they meet Eloise Felicity Poppleton, a short and studious creature who insists that she has an invisible friend named Twindle. Tamako invites her to join them aboard the Oriana.
Reverie Reef, where they are joined by the fish-like twins Ebb and Flo, who guide them through Starry Pass to Prismia.
After reviving Crysta, they look upon Prismia’s now-miserable, grey landscape. Consulting the book, they find a page missing, which Crysta reveals was removed long ago, when the book was cast out of the Faerie Sea during an earlier unsuccessful Grouchie incursion; the page is now kept in Prismia’s Chromacrown Citadel, now occupied by Heinous. The group infiltrate the Citadel, where they recover both the page and the key to Rainbow’s prison. However, they are discovered at the last moment and are forced to beat a hasty retreat.
Once in the clear, they reunite the page with the book, which regains its ability to speak, revealing itself to be sentient. It reveals that the Grouchies are irrationally afraid of all things creative and artistic, so the group organize a musical show to rally the island to rebellion. Prismia is restored to its former glory, as its rejuvenated residents drive the Grouchies into a temporary retreat. This done, they plan to rescue Rainbow, who is now held in an old fortress, while Eloise guards the Oriana’s ignition key and Skipper, Crysta and Marziparla guard the Oriana itself.
Unbeknownst to the group, an eavesdropping Grouchie informs Heinous, who then has Eloise kidnapped to obtain the key. Skipper and Crysta are thus captured, but Marziparla manages to escape. Meanwhile, the others locate and free Rainbow, outwitting Heinous’s giant pet bat Thorneshriek in the process. Upon being warned of what has occurred by Marziparla, the group free Skipper and Crysta and, with the help of Okiname, drive the Grouchies off the Oriana. They then rescue Eloise, who has been hung from a cliff to fall to her death, before engaging the Grouchies in a final fight on the beach until only Heinous is left standing. He tries to save face by killing Eloise, until Twindle, revealed to be a guardian spirit, saves her and splatters colors all over the tyrant, forcing to concede defeat.
Kouki extends an offer of friendship to the Grouchies, with Tamako explaining that they shouldn’t fear what they don’t understand, and Heinous has a change of heart and accepts. After a massive unification party, Rainbow uses her magic to send the children home, where they regain their human forms. Sometime later, Tamako and Kouki encounter Eloise and Twindle, having taken human forms in the children’s world, indicating that their adventures in Prismia are not yet over.
