CYA SUCKER(BERG)
Approximately 16 hours left until the end, well, what I perceive as the end I guess, after all do we really know if there’s life after Farcebook?
I’m going to find out, it’s part of my goal set for 2022 to cast off the bonds of social media, at least the ones that want to control me anyway. Mark Suckerberg can kiss my ass, and yes, I’ll say that to his alien-lizard looking face if I was ever afforded the opportunity, much like the Barrington St Profanity laced brow beating of Premier Danny Williams in May 2004. There’s another asshat who feelings wouldn’t fit under their chapeau.
But I digress.
As I sit here pondering my electronic eulogy,, these words from a song come to mind.
Did I disappoint you or let you down? Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown? 'Cause I saw the end, before we'd begun Yes, I saw you were blind and I knew I had won
Ah James Blunt, that song has so many fond memories including an open car door on the Pennsylvania Turnpike at 50 mph and Gloria and I laughing our asses off during better days.
I chose those lyrics because they express (albeit in a different connotation than the authors’) my current sentiments regarding life and society in general at this current moment in time. Some of you will get it, the rest will shake their heads and stick them back in the sand, which is entirely their prerogative at this point. You see, we are literally almost at the point of it’s every man/woman/whatever-you-wanna-be-today for them/their/it-selves.
Political correct fact check that sentence, I don’t fucking care. The reality bus is about to take society right outta their crocs standing on the crosswalk of life and I bet a few of you will shake your head and think I’m the crazy one.
Maybe I am, I sure as hell hope so because that will mean I’m wrong, and I’ve never wanted to be more wrong in my entire life but to be 100% honest I don’t think I am and I firmly believe the next 3 to 6 months will be the most unsettling times of human habitation on this planet. We fiddled while Rome burned, we allowed false prophets to rein unchecked like teenagers babysitting their younger siblings the first time mom and dad went away for the weekend and not only did we invite a few friends over who subsequently trashed the house, we cleaned out the savings account and maxed the credit cards on hookers and cheap beer.
We gave them the car and house keys, the credit cards and bank account pin numbers, all the responsibility to create order, and then we completely failed to hold anyone to account for the last 50 years and yet we wonder “How did we get here” as the bus is teetering on the edge of Springfield gorge and we’re sitting on the dash staring at the abyss.
I used to think the movie Idiocity was a parody, not a documentary.
For those in my inner circle, you know one of my biggest hang-ups is trust. I trust very few people, I can count them on one hand if you really boil it down. There’s a reason for that, and it has everything to do with the noble lie.
One time when I was still proudly wearing the uniform of Canada’s mounted, one more than one occasion I was given information that was less than forthcoming knowing the truth full well in advance. When the persons uttering said information were clergy, elected officials, pillars of the community etc., you start to realize that everybody lies. The differentiator is the motivation behind the lie. Once you learn to look to motive each time you analyze someone’s statements you can quickly assign weigh to the veracity of the information or in other words always ask yourself “what’s in it for them”.
The other differentiator is the magnitude of the consequences of the lie as to how hard a person will hold onto it even after being confronted with evidence that shows that in fact they’ve been caught in the lie.
I’ve seen it hundreds of times, I watched the guilty cling to a story so feeble it makes Joe Brandon look like Superman and despite glaring evidence to the contrary, they won’t admit defeat.
That’s where we are today folks, we’ve ripped the mask of the swamp creature and the politician who was telling us to be afraid of the swamp creature is the one hiding inside the costume yet we refuse to acknowledge the fact that we were lied to all along.
I worry what’s about to happen when the world wakes up and realizes the magnitude of the lies they were fed, and what’s going to happen when people wake up enmass to the fact that they are currently living through the greatest man-made experiment in history, one where evil is running amok and good people will pay the price. I fear the shock that people will endure will be catastrophic to humanity, something far more sinister than what we saw at the end of World War 2.
Betrayal is one of the worst things a human being need endure, death is more merciful because it’s final. Like the denial of lies, I’ve seen the shock of betrayal first hand way to many times in my life, sometimes being the bearer of the bad news that a spouse was unfaithful, a business partner dishonest, or a family member capable of doing dark things.
Folks, we’ve been lied to on a scale never before seen in humanity and I fear it’s all going to come out in the coming weeks/months and when it does, and people start waking up to what has happened, and not only the magnitude of the deceit, but the consequences for those left behind. The food shortages we are about to see will make past famines look like a weight watchers convention. The coming crash of the financial systems will decimate families. The instability of the supply chain will make everything infinitely more difficult to produce, from power to clothing, to transporting good to market will require herculean effort.
Think I’m wrong?
I sure hope I am. I hope and pray every single day that I’m one of the tin foil wearing hat class ya’ll think I am and that the totality of the information I’ve absorbed is completely wrong. I’d be 100% good with being made a social pariah for saying the sky is falling. I’m ok with being Chicken Little. Problem is, I don’t think I am.
So today officially is my last day as a safety professional. I’ve decided to let my board certifications expire as of midnight tonight, ending that phase of my life and looking forward to the next phase as I transition to lead a company as it’s CEO. I can look back on my 30+ year career with pride, knowing I helped make the world a little bit better by keeping people safe, usually from themselves because as any safety person worth their salt knows (see what I did there???) that 90% of safety issues are related to human behavior and it’s was my job to show people the safe way.
I did my job and enjoyed it right up until September 30, 2021 when I realized people weren’t listening anymore and either I was right or wrong, but it didn’t matter anymore.
So I decided to leave and take care of the people in my circle. I decided to control the things I can control and not worry about things I can’t.
I completely get Atlas Shrugged now. Now more than ever. I just never thought I’d be living through it, and if you don’t think the irony of me becoming a CEO and moving away from society at the end of the book is lost on me, it isn’t. Actually it’s isn’t irony at all.
Is it.
I wish each and every one of you the best for 2022. I hope each of you find love, hope, and happiness in your hearts with the promise of a new year and a fresh start. Be kind to one another, and remember while we are all on the same ocean, we are all floating in different objects, from boats to life rafts, and every person you meet today could be having the worst day of their life today. Lend them an ear and a hand if you are able, but stay vigilant in the coming days as those who failed to build a home of brick will seek shelter against the storm and no amount of political correctness will prevent evil from rising up and taking what it feels entitled to.
Dark, I know. But as a person who’s spend his life grounded in the reality of life being hard and ugly, it’s the best advice I can give you.
As for me I’m looking forward to the challenges coming in 2022 on all fronts, even if they are hard times, because hard times make men (and women, and he/she/they/them) bring out the best and worst in society and that creates catalyst for significant change, change we badly need.
Be safe out there. See you in the movies.
Much love.

Wannabe COVID Police
Christmas has come and gone for another year, and despite their best efforts, we didn’t allow Tim Houston, Robert Strang, Justin Trudeau, or that crazy Tam to ruin our holidays. We still did everything we would have normally done just did it with our personal safety in mind and didn’t worry about the actions of the herd. It worked out just fine didn’t it? I know MANY of you who did the same thing, including some of the aforementioned. Getting it perhaps? I know a few more of you have woken in the past month or o to the fact that all is not as it seems, and nothing good is coming our way.
Yes, my tin foil hat is on too tight today. I’ve about reach my bullshit saturation point with all this crap that’s going on in the world and the fact that people are either much more stupid/gullible than I expected, or we truly are living Orwell’s vision.
Now it’s time for my annual personal reflection and strat session to set up 2022, and based on the fact that 2021 was an absolute shitshow from just about every metric, I’ve got some serious thinking to do with some difficult decisions to make because we are at a crossroads as the human race and if you can’t see it you are part of the problem, and I mean that coming from a good place to make you realize you aren’t helping.
I posted a video this morning to my social media account that highlights this fact in under three minutes. This video if you think about what is really going on in it shows very clearly that we are screwed as a society, so for those lucky enough not be subject to my multiple daily rants/posts trying to wake people the hell up before we cross the Rubicon, let me describe the scene that plays out in the video.
There’s a guy standing outside his car with the driver’s door open in what appears to be the middle of an intersection, fully masked, and he’s yelling at the guy who is filming him to put on a mask and stay away from him because the unvaccinated videographer is a threat to his very being. He’s obviously gotten out of his car to confront the random mask wearing anti-vaxxer on the street.
Here’s what is wrong with the entire scenario based on the current science.
1. Yelling dude is fully vaccinated and states so multiple times. A vaccinated person by definition is protected from the threat if indeed they have received the required courses of an effective vaccine. For the sake of this discussion, I won’t point out the fact that these vaccines are non-sterilizing and therefore cannot prevent transmission. Oops. So technically if the vaccines are safe & effective, the person at risk is the unvaccinated videographer.
2. Yelling dude is wearing a mask, and while a mask is not a respirator and provides no protective factor to the wearer ( based on cloth density, type of fabric, number of layers, and fit) it may provide some exhalation restriction for large diameter (>10 micron) moisture particles. Keep in mind a Corna1984 virus particle is 0.2-0.4 microns in diameter so a mask pore opening of 40 to 70 microns will do nothing to stop them unless they are attached to one of the aforementioned moisture particles that happen-chances to strike a thread on exhalation. Think about it, ever smelled something even when wearing a mask? Of course you do, they aren’t respirators. So once again yelling dude is protecting the videographer.
3. Yelling dude is more than 6 feet from the videographer. So science tells us that exhalations travel less than 3 feet under normal breathing/talking scenarios as per the laws of Brownian movement (and not linearly either). The 6 foot guidance is a safety factor of 2. Yelling dude is wearing a mask. There’s very low risk to either party despite yelling dudes yelling, and then the risk profile is higher for the videographer.
4. They are standing outdoors. Anyone who knows anything about particle movement outdoors and the virus knows that the odds of you catching the cooties outdoors is almost the same as you winning power ball, even without any masks. It’s asinine to think anything else because unless your French kissing an infected person for 15 minutes straight while standing in a field of flowers, the odds of you accumulating enough viral load in you upper airway, the 0.4 micron particles are going to disapate to the wind the minute they leak from your orifices. Again, the risk is virtually non-existent to either party in the video.
So my point is from a safety perspective there’s low risk of a cootie exposure here but Yelling dude felt it necessary to stop and educate the videographer for whatever reason. Well the problem is the whatever reason because you need to critically look at these interactions as a barometer of the level of public intelligence on this plandemic and the amount of vitriol building in society between factions. See yelling dude is not only misinformed, he’s irrational to the point of aggression and he’s not alone. Every single day we see cases like these, where people are losing their minds and it’s my position it’s because of the incompetence or criminality of our leaders. I firmly hold those we out in positions of trust responsible for where we are by wither act or omission, and from what I’m seeing it’s getting worse really fast.
Last night I watched a video of another “Karen” on a flight where she confronts a dude sitting in his seat eating with his mask off. She is irrational and screaming at him to put his mask on despite the fact she is incorrect in every assumption that lead her to the point that she has confronted this total stranger and put herself at great risk to correct his behavior. The reason I say great risk is because first of all she might think she’s a mama bear, but the laws of physics don’t care, if he didn’t show the restraint he did, it would end very badly for her. Despite her obvious super human status she never things to consider that while she’s standing there screaming at dude in a packed airplane that her mask, in fact, is pulled down below her chin. I’ll stop here for emphasis.
Lastly mama bear isn’t considering the risk she’s exchanging for this interaction. She’s no longer behind the safety of a section 230 protected keyboard, she’s standing 35,000 feet up on a Federally regulated aircraft flying under the FAA and US criminal code where her behavior can land her with a $1,000,000.00 fine and a prison term not to exceed 20 years. That’s a pretty hefty price to pay to wanna be a covid cop. I’m sure after she struck him about the face she stopped to consider her future accommodations and lifestyle. Nope. Watch the video.
Folks we seriously are n the precipice of the collapse of society, and I’m not being dramatic I’m being serious. Our leaders are implementing policy that makes no sense, some of it is downright nonsensical and ass backwards, and some things you look at and shake your head because they tried it ten times and it didn’t work but yet again they are heading down the same road thinking it’s going to lead them to a different pace.
They are either that fucking stupid or we are being purposely lead into tyranny. It can’t be any other explanation, but I welcome your thoughts. Sorry for the f-bomb, but I really did think 1984 and animal farm were works of fiction, not how-to manuals.
Anyway, I digress. It’s a beautiful Sunday morning out here on the coast and the sun is shining. Think I’ll go take the wildebeest for a walk and clear my head before brunch. It’s good to be alive when you know where to look, problem is getting others’ to see where you’re gazing.
Be good to one another folks, we are going to need one another more than ever. Stay calm and try to stay rational

Day 1 of what is the rest of my life
Day 1
Today is the first official day of my “new life”.
I awoke as I have been doing for months around 8:30 am.... much later than my traditional 5 am alarm wake up call from the days gone by with my two BFF’s laying either side of me, my wife to my left, my dog to my right. No one wanted to move. It was perfect.
Its actually een like that for almost three months to some degree, except that every single morning until today I was expected to do something, whether it was drywall and insulate a cottage to have a place to live for the winter in the middle of a pandemic, or to run to town to get an oil change of groceries.
Today I get to sit here looking out over the Northumberland Strait, Nova Scotia behind me, left and right, New Brunswick off shore to the left and Prince Edward Island dead ahead, the lights of the radio towers in Charlottetown blinking “we are here” on a staccato rhythm each and every night after dusk.
I spent the last few years of my career in the c-suites of a billion dollar companies, making big deals and ensuring the demands of growing population were met through the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of minerals required to produce everything from iPhones , toilet paper, French fries, electricity etc. At one point we as an executive team brought in a high powered consultant from an Ivy League school to help us re-brnad our mission, vision, and value statements and help set the direction for a company we were restructuring by getting our leadership team focused on what kind of company we wanted to be. One of the exercises she did with the group of around 20 was called “your book”, and the premise was in turn you had to tell the group if you wrote a book at that moment in time, what would it be titled and why?
Now if you followed me on social media I may have told this story, so bear with me as I retell it, but there’s a twist.
So when it was my turn, my response to the group was my book would be entitled “How the hell did I get here?” which elicited laugher from the group and once the room calmed down I explained that my journey to the boardroom was anything but traditional, and I was amazed at the way my career arc went given the path I followed through life, and I would write a book telling others’ how I parlayed a career in safety and health and helping others’ into a great life lived (in my humble opinion).
I never saw 2019 coming.
Fast forward to approximately 4 years later and I’d still write the book and use the same title, but the book would be very different. Very different indeed. Now it would be about how I came to be sitting on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean hiding from safety. Literally.
I want to write, I find it therapeutic and allows me to organize my thoughts, which in my mind can be like trying to herd kittens on crack. I think a lot. Ask my wife what it’s like living with someone who’s brain never shuts off. I’m not bragging, it’s a curse at times, but at other’s it’s a blessing. My original thought was to write my life story as an inspiration to others’ who have self-confidence issues as a kind of way to pay it forward for the next generation, as based on my interaction with the next two, we’ve got some work to do before we shuffle off this mortal coil if we want the world to survive.
I’m not being mellow dramatic, the way I see it we are currently on a path of mutual destruction. There’s no other way to describe what’s going on in the world right now, it’s either utter incompetence or it’s being done with evil intention.
Like Elon Musk, I’m a big believer in capitalism as anyone who understand the strategic allocation of capital is the only way to efficiently manage a society, and those (like Musk) who are good at it make life better for all (Think Starlink, Telsa, SpaceEx, Boring etc.) versus Government rule by people like Biden, Trudeau et al who only understand that the allocation of resources is done to ensure the next election is in their favour.
There’s a chasm wider than the ocean I’m staring at right now between those two approaches, and an even larger cost to the individual, our communities, and society as a whole.
The world has gone mad in my opinion, we’ve allowed ourselves to be divided, riled up, and set loose on each other, with misinformation and a mass psychosis campaign unlike the world’s not seen. We have completely lost leave our collective common sense. One needs look no closer than the vaccinated being afraid of the unvaccinated to highlight the fact we are no longer thinking clearly. If you took a vaccine because your government told you it was safe, effective, and it would allow us to “get back to normal” and then none of it was true and you lined up for a 3rd shot, well, I can’t help you. I really can’t.
I’m not trying to be mean, quite the contrary. I’m trying to explain people like me to people like you. You’s people. To you, I’m you’s people. Get it? In safety I’d use a teaching point to highlight an aspect of the perlzman effect (more safety controls, more risk taking activity goes on) and I highlight that the way our minds work is that accidents don;t happen to me, it happens to others’, you know, you’s people.
So we ran a vaccination campaign with leaky vaccines (non-sterilizing) and we tied the participation in this trial to the very freedoms guaranteed in our charter of rights. We allowed people we elected (I think) to under the guise of safety rob us of our very freedom to the point of making people die alone as there families pleaded with officials to “allow” them to see their loved ones who were in their final stages of dying, because we didn’t want to transmit them the disease.
Read that again.
We have become that fucking stupid as a society, and many of you bought into it.
Sorry for the naughty words, but know if your going to stick around and read this blog, they will be used as special seasoning throughout in as much as I love my spice rack when I cook. They bring out the emphasis in the points I’m trying to cook up.
So this blog is going to be about our fall into the darkness we’ve experienced as humans, partly for my mental health to write it down, part for your entertainment/education, and partly so those who come after us understand we all didn’t go bat shit crazy and start injecting ourselves with bleach and inserting UV lights in our nether regions.
I’m going to try and write each day or so and tell my story, I hope you’ll follow along and participate, I’d like to hear comments, pushback, contratry thoughts, or just share your experiences in the comments. I think we are alot more alike than they give us credit for, they’ve just told u we are all different.
We aren’t. We all get up each day and put one foot in front of each otherto get through our days, love our friends and family and try to live the best life we can.
Come join me and let’s get back to living by understanding how the wheels on the bus came off. I’ve got time and the desire to fix things, you with me?
Let’s do this.

Why I left
I’m sitting here in front of my newly made fire, coffee in hand starting at the cursor flashing impatiently on the laptop screen in front of me. According to the date on the menu line its December 19th, in the year 2021 and there’s a light snow falling outside in the mornings first light, and the ocean is somewhat calm so far today.
Kind of like my soul.
It’s not been that way in a long time, I would estimate years at this point, the last three years having been the most out of sorts I’ve seen in my 54 revolutions around the big orange ball in the sky. My life and career were running at a fever pitch in September of this year, as the plandemic raged, being a health and safety professional running the EHS portfolio for the largest employer in our region and arguably one of the most diverse companies in North America, I was starting to experience something I’d never experienced so far in my life. Learned helplessness.
Nothing was making sense from a health and safety perspective and it was getting worse, working with Government bureaucrats was maddening, and watching the politicians in general was like watching Monty Python on crack. I was working with two countries, 13 states/provinces, and more county and local governments than I cared to think about, and the most frustrating thing about it was each of those governments had their own approach to managing the plandemic.
Now before ya’ll complain, I have purposely mislabelled pandemic to plandemic because in my humble opinion this is a contrived effort to change the trajectory of humanity under the cover of a Global health emergency by a bunch of elites who think they know better than everyone else, and who knows, maybe they do, but I don’t think so.
And that’s my right as a human being.
Perhaps my world view is overly simple. I was born where I was born with what I was born with to do whatever it is I’m capable of doing. Period. I have a very strong belief system given to me by my parents and reinforced by my community growing up. I became a sheep dog, which is a term used to describe those who are called to help others in their lives (i.e. firefighters, police, military, paramedics etc.) and sacrifice themselves in the process, much like a sheep dog would do protecting a herd of sheep from the wolves. These people are your friends, neighbours, and community members who in the background keep our communities safe and orderly for us all to live happy and productive lives.
I knew we were in trouble as a society when the sheep began attacking the sheepdogs.
Yesterday another police officer was executed while they sat eating lunch in their patrol car. A person who chose to put on a uniform and go out in a upside down world to protect others gunned down because another person had been riled up to the point of bloodlust by an ideology of others’. This is happening more frequently than ever before now, but I didn’t post this to talk about police shootings, I posted it to talk about why I walked away.
I walked away from my 30-year career as a sheepdog.
The last 3 months I was on the job was the worst 3-months of my professional life. I was seeing data that should have been driving certain decisions by those we elected to lead us but the data and science were being completely overlooked, and even the bureaucrats I was working with were scratching their heads an making stupid excuses for their leaders direction and mandates. The entire concept of common sense had been abandoned in favour of a wide sweeping power grab by small town politicians turned world statesmen. It was embarrassing to be on some of the calls I was dragged to with the intellectual elite of the province, including the Chief Medical administrators and their associated staff.
Embarrassing might be too light a word. Terrifying might be better.
As a health and safety professional I was chilled at the idiocy coming from the capital region, especially coming from the premier’s office. Some of the decisions around supply chain, infection control measures, mobility and security made me think we were at the end of the Roman empire and everyone has gone mad with lead poisoning. I kid you not, some of the things I’d hear they were proposing I’d sit back and shake my head and wonder if any of them understood the concept of unintended consequences or if they were purposely trying to remove the lugs nuts off the wheels while the bus was freewheeling down the hill towards Springfield cavern.
It wasn’t much better on the outside. Everyone was buying the narrative and it was becoming increasing more difficult to show people that all was not what it seemed because the mass psychosis was fully entrenched after 18 months of the population being terrorized by a merciless government fear campaign supported by a complicated media and financed by an unknown cabal of global elites hell bent on dominating the world.
I know you all think people like me are conspiracy theorists, but have you asked yourself lately if any of us actually called this all? I don’t need to have that answered because of two things. One you can scroll back through the social media history of any of us who have been screaming from the mountaintops since this began and see how our conspiracy theories became conspiracy facts over time., a remarkable correlation in time. Secondly it doesn’t matter to me what you think. I’ve no dog in your race.
Now I need to clarify that last statement because once I do it will make sense why I walked away. It’s not that I don’t care, it’s because I’m no longer effective. I’ve been neutralized by something bigger than me, than us. Think about it. I’ve got people on my Fakebook who have never studied a lick of science telling me I’m wrong about masks when I have studied Industrial Hygiene at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, have written more respiratory codes of practices than I can remember, ran large IH programs in dangerous industries, and have lectured on these topics. What would I know about size specific attributes of molecular material and Brownian movement as it relates to the design of respiratory protection in various environments?
But Joe the keyboard warrior wins every time because we no longer have open and intellectual debate, we cast natural leaders to the side over false prophets, we shout people down and shut them down who are trying to bring caution to the forefront, and we marginalize those who assert bodily autonomy.
So I left my career. I drew my line and refused to cross it and I was unceremoniously shown my value along with the door. Not unlike thousands of others on the front lines who suffered the same crisis of conscience who couldn’t sacrifice their beliefs for magic beans.
If you read Atlas shrugged, now you get it why the CEO’s left.
See you in the valley.
Jim out.

As I walked the thing of chaos this morning I got to thinking about our future, and by our future I’m not talking just the furry beast and mine, I’m talking ours, the current caretakers of the western world.
Yep, going to be a deep dive this morning, there’s a lot to process out there, so grab a Java and open your mind, we need to talk.
I’m a big picture thinker and fact driven, it’s both a blessing and a curse as I tend to over analyze situations at times to determine direction. Data is my friend, facts drive my decisions.
By all measures we are in a world of hurt right now, we’ve lost leave of our senses and we are making really bad choices these days. We are like the teenagers left home for the weekend for the first time and I’m sure our intention was just “to have a couple friends over” even though mom and dad said no, and maybe we know that things could take a bad turn. Problem is when you are a teenager you don’t realize how hard mom and dad worked to buy and build that home you take for granted, and as the police drive away in the early morning hours as you stand at where the front door used to be looking out on the contents of your home on the front lawn like a scene out of Animal House you get that pit of the stomach feeling of the trouble you are going to be in when your parents get back early from their romantic weekend getaway. Problem is you aren’t think about where you are going to sleep tonight.
The majority of human beings are emotional thinkers, people driven by passion and feelings, not logic and reason. Look no further than South Africa. Right now, right this minute there are food lines everywhere, tens of miles long, everywhere. There’s a mass starvation event occurring there and it’s going to get much, much worse in the days and weeks to come. Didn’t know? No? Are you curious why the fact that many South Africans have no access to food right now and yet it’s not plastered on every news feed 24/7 like the sexual deviance outcomes of a piss poor human being?
You see when you get angry and break your toys you only hurt yourself. But most people aren’t rational enough to understand that until they are standing in line 6 miles away from the only open supermarket in their neighbourhood, because they got mad, threw a fit and burned down their communities.
We undoubtedly are one of the most stupid species on the planet. Only humans would shit where they sleep, even my dog is smarter than that, and he’s not the brightest bulb on the tree.
Folks we are on the precipice of a significant mass extinction event, and don’t just take my conspiracy thinking word for it, sit down and do the research. Look at the indicators. Watch the videos of people being shot dead in the streets, watch the riots and civil disobedience going on around the globe. It’s not a matter of if it will happen here, it’s a matter of when, just like dad knew deep down you were going to have that party the minute their tail lights crossed the town limits.
This is what happens when you don’t think before you vote, elect stupid people, and don’t take responsibility for your actions. We’ve spent the last 50+ years diminishing personal accountability to the point everyone’s a victim and it’s not my fault I can’t eat.
Read that again.
I don’t know any species of mammal alive today that bases it’s existence on another, it’s virtually Darwin’s entire theory in action. Only the strong survive, and believe me, they will and the big Problem is in our current state those we elected to protect the common good will be the ones surviving and you and I my friend will go the way of the do do bird.
Get it yet?
We can still stop what is about to happen here, I’m not so sure other parts of the world will be able too, but we could if we wanted too yet all we focus on is how many people have runny noses, not the fact that the ruling class is purposely trying to burn down the world.
As a student of history (hobby, not academic) I know that time and time again we have allowed the ideology of the few to lead to mass genocides that see one group of people kill millions of people who don’t think like they do.
It’s happening again, and like Thelma and Louise we have the foot to the floor.
Right now here at home we have people ready to completely ostracize from society those family and friends that for whatever reason won’t take an experimental concoction in their arm that’s killing a high incidence of those people to protect them from a virus that has a higher survivability rate than most common diseases and if you don’t think this idea won’t end badly then you should run for Congress.
Seriously, Look at it from this perspective. What if this unproven, untested, and entirely novel concoction starts causing serious side effects in a year or two. Not saying it will, but for the sake of a Friday morning discussion, let’s say it starts causing immune systems to over react with the next mutated strain of the virus, like for example Dengue.
You’ve stuck that jab in your entire first response line, your army, doctors, nurses, police officers, etc. They would be the first to go.
Shame really. Who helps those who help?
Again, I’m not saying thats what’s next, but I’m saying as a safety dude that’s a really bad idea.
I’ve come to the realization that soon I’ll be forced to start making decisions that will be life changing because my beliefs are different from the herds, and I plan on living my life by the principles that have worked for me over these past 53 years. I don’t plan on being part of anyone else’s plan, well, at least willingly.
There’s a photo that has stuck in my head since I seen it in a history book back in the 1970’s, I’ve referenced it over the years as a singular reminder why we need to always confront evil when we see it before it gets out of hand and is allowed to run unchecked throughout society, before ideology takes root. It’s a black and white photo taken in the 1940’s of a young mother standing naked on the edge of a pit holding a naked child as a German S/S soldier levels a rifle at the back of her head. The mother is holding onto the child in the most tender embrace and the child is nuzzled into mom. The helplessness on both faces is dwarfed only by the steely eyed fixed gaze of the soldier who is about to follow orders once again.
Maybe she didn’t want the jab.
Do not think it can’t happen again, it already is. Don’t take my word for it, look it up. Do the research. Don’t listen to the media, they are all parroting a script. Think for yourself.
It’s being done on purpose, think of why create confusion in the middle of the worse Global pandemic ever (hint, that’s extreme sarcasm, look up the percentage of the global population that died during the 1918 pandemic and make your own decision of the end justifies the means). We can manage this pandemic now, we just don’t want too. The allure of power is too strong, the love of power and control is a blood lust few will understand prior to experiencing the results.
I have no love of power, although I understand how to use it and when it’s appropriate, but never understood the need to arbitrarily force another to bend to my will, well at least without a vigorous debate on the rationale for the need to bend the knee. That folks us where we fell off the turnip truck, we stopped having discussions and started being told with no room for debate.
That’s why we can’t have nice things right now, we are allowing the stupid people to rule the smart, and in my opinion that’s a bad thing. Look no further than the arrogance of the ruling class, and you can pick hundreds of examples each day of for thee, not me.
If I sexually harassed women at work I’d be fired the day the report was issued after the investigation. If I lied to the ATF on a firearm background check, a class one felony, I’d go to jail for a term not to exceed ten years. If it came out that I was lying to people about things I should be an expert in, you’d think people would eventually not believe me, right?
But not if your in the ruling class, all those examples are real yet you all can see the lack of accountability and the double standard.
Why do you look away?
I think I know why, but I can’t answer for you, you have to live with your choices like I will min, but I wish I lived in a world where people thought enough about others and less about themselves to not force their will on others’ for the sake of power.
Anyway, it’s another rainy day here at the beach, me and the dog are going to go for a walk on the ocean floor and enjoy the solitude of a beautiful august day in the most beautiful part of the world I know, and be thankful for those men and women who last stormed a beach to allow me at least 50 odd years of freedom to explore my life and experience life the way I believe it should be, unmolested and free.
Where do we go from here? It’s within us.
Jim out.

Oh Canada.....
One needs to look no further than volume 4 of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada entitled “Canada’s Residential Schools: Missing Children and Unmarked Burials” to know the depth of the tragedy that occurred under the watch of Trudeaus own father and other “leaders” of Canada.
3,200 children died at these facilities according to the report, published in 2015. The names of these children are published on Canada’s registers of conformed deaths of named and unnamed Students.
Yes, there’s an official registry of names, has been for some time.
In 2006 the Indian Residential School Settlement Agreement set up the framework for the Truth and Reconciliation Committee and the subsequent investigations into the deaths at these schools. Most of these children died from tuberculosis, pneumonia, and influenza, and as a matter of fact, deaths at the schools multiplied 9 times during the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic.
It’s just history folks; your local library has books full of it.
But yet you’d think we’d just uncovered this horrific part of history wouldn’t you, especially if your one source of the truth is social media, but as Winston Churchill said, “Never waster a good crisis”, and especially one that plays well to help aid in the death of a national identity.
Flair for the dramatic or just reading the tea leaves? You decide, I’m just throwing it out there for discussion. Let’s face it, if you were to do a trip o’round the world you’d see there are many shaming campaigns afoot right now, causing once proud nations to call into question their virtue.
Sound familiar?
Cancel the world. Burn it down.
Why don’t we all stop for a minute and think through these things a bit more rationally before we start re-living life from 100 years ago because that’s where we are going if we keep the accelerator pressed down on this type of thinking.
First of all know this. I believe the oppression of any person, group of people, or belief of people is wrong where it does not fundamentally opposite moral and legal standards of the society represented. I believe we must hold a set of cultural norms as a collective in order to prevent anarchy and have some semblance of working towards a collective good.
We need to stop allowing Those Who Think They Know Best control over our minds. Folks, you only needed to watch the “Trust in media” piece the Mainstream media ran a number of years back to see the level of collusion being forced to keep the narrative going in the direction Those Who Think They Know Best want it to. This isn’t a conspiracy theory, this is what is actually going on right now, whether you choose to accept it or not, we are watching the biggest coup in world history.
I know, the ol’ gourd is swollen inside the thin aluminum sheeted noggin cap again right?
Ok, so ask yourself why then are they announcing all these native graves years after the government spent millions finding and cataloguing them as part of a healing effort with the indigenous community?
Sure, they may find more graves, but ask yourself why would they time it as they have, during a Plandemic and leading into a “Great Reset” where the goal is to create a One World Government and eliminate countries and races.
Canada needs a black eye right now, much like the USA did. How can our countries be destroyed if we love ourselves and feel good about the good we do in the world? But no, we need to be reeled in, our morals questioned, our status on the world stage called out for the atrocities our forefathers committed in the name of progress. That’s what Those Who Think They Know Best plan to see done, to shame us into submission.
Canada, the strong and free.
Wait, check that. Canada, the home of government mandated indigenous child murder.
Got a ring to it don’t you think?
Right about here is where the government led news agencies would clip the sound bite to see my cancellation clause met, but continue to hear me out.
I’m very sad about the concept of residential schools, and very embarrassed that my forefathers would think for one minute that taking children from parents to “re-educate” them to “their way” of thinking. My commitment to the world is to do everything in my ability to make sure atrocities like this never happen again, that when I see one group of people attempting to subvert another group through deceptive tactics for the purposes of nefarious means, I will scream from the tree tops and do everything in my power to prevent it from happening.
Including wiring rants to let people know when bad things are going on that history will judge us badly for.
Like now.
So as you sit here on a half cancelled Canada day, as people are questioning if they can go for a walk in a park or cross an imaginary line to hug their dying mom, all the while being told that they are a horrible person who has benefitted from a society that preyed on everyone and everything to reach the top of the hill, try and keep in focus that we are all infallible humans who only become animals when we forget how to be human first, and when we allow others’ to control our minds and the message.
If we want to ensure not one more child is ever harmed in the care of others, if we want to be the society we truly want to be then remember one thing.
It’s within us to do good or evil, or to permit it.
Happy Canada Day 2021.
Jim Out.
P.S. peace to the children. May we never again.

Potholes on the information superhighway, and other things to miss
So as I sit hear listening to the sound of the wave gently caressing the soft sandy soiled walls of the eroding bank in front of our COVID driven overly expensive waterfront view, I’m staring at two words blinking at me from the screen of my laptop that are causing me to smile, that deep internally satisfying smile we only get when something so perfect touches our souls.
No internet.
Now that may send shivers down the spine of even the most hardened 15-year old gamer as they sit in front of their Xbox One for the 100th time as it does a 12 gig regular update, but not me, it brings a sense of inner peace. See I’m a gen X’er, born during Canada’s centennial and raised on skinned knees, streetlight hide and seek, and the best music generation of all times, if you discount the renaissance. Love me some Mozart.
But why would the lack of access to the internet of things, an absence of bit transfer, make me so happy?
Because we have become enslaved by technology, and we are indebted to a few technocrats who now control almost every aspect of our lives. Don’t believe me? Leave your phone at home for a day. Let me know how that works out for you.
Think about how easy it is to unperson someone now. They unpersoned the President of the United States in under a day, so think about how easy it would be to make you disappear from society. If you’ve ever read Orwell’s 1984 you’d understand how immensely easy Winston Smith’s job would be in 2021, how quickly you could scrub the very existence of a person from society should a bad actor, say like a government bureaucrat who didn’t like a post you made on twitter criticizing their political candidate. They can shut off your access to your bank account with a keystroke, no cash for you and speaking of cash, once our current paper/plastic currency goes away that control gets even tighter as you won’t make a single transaction without the government knowing about it, and eventually approving it.
Approving it you say? The government can’t tell me what I can and cannot buy! Really? C’mon Prole, you have a short memory. It was only a few weeks ago Walmart had to caution tape off clothing aisles in their stores across Canada so the unwashed masses couldn’t buy new clothes because they aren’t essential goods.
Well I’m glad to hear that, that mandate will fit well into my retirement plans, but I digress....
China has had a social credit system for some time; it’s a way the ruling class keeps the Proles in line. You write blogs like this that criticize the government; they turn off your access to things like travel. Miss too many days at work this month? No access to smokes or liquor for 60 days. Click. Unpaid parking tickets? Forget about booking that cruise Winston.
Do you think I’m making this up like some dude in 1948 writing about Ministries of Truth? Do you think this isn’t coming? It’s coming at us like a drug infused Charlie Sheen at dollar night at Baby Dolls.
Think vaccine passports. Seems innocuous (pun intended) enough doesn’t it. I mean countries have always required vaccinations to travel into them right? But here’s what you aren’t thinking about. If I wanted to travel to Mozambique I’d need a malaria vaccination, maybe a few others, but it’d be my choice to get vaccinated to do the travel. If I didn’t want to be vaccinated, I’d just not travel to Africa in the first place. No biggie.
But they are pushing to vaccinate the world population all at once, all for a bad flu (yes, I know people died, but people die every single day from the same family of viruses, some years more than others) and at the same time some countries are trying to mandate vaccination passports, like Canada for example. I bet most of you didn’t know that the Government of the right dishonourable sock puppet, the crime Minister of Canada, the son of Fidel himself has issues a request for proposal to tech companies to develop and operate a biometric identification system to imprint Canadian subjects’ identities to vaccination status.
That’s right, if you live in Canada soon you will be required to give up your biometric information to the government in exchange for a few beans, that is as long as you follow the mandated vaccination schedule and eat all your veggies. Think my tinfoil hat is on too tight? I’d challenge you to sit down and do some research on some of the bills Trudopes minions are tabling right now. They literally aren’t hiding their agenda any longer they’ve become that bold.
Combine that with the mass buying of single family homes buy large equity funds like Blackrock. There’s no conspiracy theory, both CBC and the National Post have reported on this, and it’s not new, large corporations have for a long time controlled the majority of the residential rental market but now they’ve changed strategy and have started buying homes in suburbia.
Why?
Control.
By 2030 you will own nothing and you’ll be happy. This is the agenda of the progressives, to even the playing field for everyone, equality is the end goal to ensure everyone is equal. Except them. Someone has to live in the farmhouse and drink the milk, you know, for brains and stuff.
Within the next decade those who stare at goats will control every aspect of our lives through the use of technology. Gone will be the days of individual freedoms and opportunity. It’s not a far stretch from where we already are if you think about it, we can easily be cancelled nowadays for simply sending the wrong 128 character combination across the IoT. Remember Jim? Oh yeah, he was a pot stirrer right up until the time he posted that tweet about JT’s wife liking chocolate better than vanilla then POOF he was gone. Whatever happened to him?
Holy squirrel’s batman, it’s hard to focus this morning. Sorry.
We give children iPhones and then can’t understand why they become introverted and troll their friends on social media by the time they are 12 or spend their nights locked in their bedrooms talking to strangers or conducting cam shows for magic tokens they can trade for new possessions.
This pandemic just helped that little model move up the greatest hits chart just a wee bit faster now didn’t it. I heard the word “Cave syndrome” for the first time yesterday, a connotation that some people will have a hard time re-integrating into society once things “open up”, and by “open up” I mean our tormentors allowing us by virtue of some untold regulation to resume our lives in a new normal.
A new normal of more control.
The allegory of the cave is a good one (double points right there folks!). Yes, I was going all Socrates/Plato on that one. Most people do not grasp the enormity of the reality of where we are going, nor do I think they even care because they have been facing the blank wall for way too long and have developed Stockholm syndrome as a result. If you don’t know that the water temperature is increasing, and you are enjoying what you think is a hot tub fiesta, well then all of this will be lost on you anyway so you might as well embrace the bubbles. Technology is a double edged sword that we’ve swallowed whole, damn the torpedoes. We have become so dependent I fear there’s no escape what’s next.
But not here.
Blink. Blink. No Internet.
I’m going to ensure there’s always a Barchetta stored here, you know, for the future, it just likely won’t be red. Red cars always attract attention.
For now I’ll enjoy the sound of the surf, the wind through the trees, and the feel of the cover of a good book in my hands as society races to obliterate itself at an alarming rate, one I’ll never understand. And I know one thing, i’ll use my phone to access the ‘net when needed, then shut it off when not. That’s freedom folks, that’s what I was promised, and that’s what I’m living.
Namaste.

Made in China
I don’t know about you, but it sure feels like we are living through the start of World War III.
Now before you scroll past and think my tin foil hat is on too tight this morning, hear me out. It’s not like this doesn’t make sense or anything, if you connect the dots it would appear that the next global conflict will look much different than the previous two.
Think about it. China has been posturing for years to become the next world superpower, and if you can see through the medias bullshit you can read the overtures that are being made in the Asia region along with the saber rattling in the Middle East, you can see that it didn’t take long for Biden to unravel almost 50 years of progress towards peace.
War is inevitable and necessary to the state, and if you ever read Sun Tzu “Art of War”, a Chinese war treatise from the 6th dynasty you would understand the supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting. He also said that the outcome of war is pre-decided and gave solid advice on the best way to conduct campaigns to conquer foreign powers.
Now before you get your panties in a bunch, I’m not accusing China of deliberately inducing a world-wide pandemic through the use of a genetically modified pathogen after spending years devaluating the US dollar using printed money (not like we have room to talk, but we also haven’t been on a buying spree like the Chinese have in say, Canada for example.), but if I were President Xi Jinping that’s what I’d do. The best war is one where you risk no resources.
Again, not saying the Chinese are attempting to destabilize the United States, not at all. Just saying if I were going to take over the world that’s how I’d do it, from a far, using disinformation and creating confusion and chaos in the streets of my enemy. Not like it hasn’t been done before.
See many of you see people like me as conspiracy theorists, people who are to be dismissed because we believe in things others’ think are foolish, things that seem farfetched and impossible to be going on in a frame of present reference. I just see myself as a guy who likes history and reads a lot of books that were written before Google came along and dumbed down our nations. Anyone who has ever read a book on the rise of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party in 1920’s Germany would understand completely. If you were to pick up a couple other books on how Hilter rose to power on the back of that party, you’d understand also how quickly people can be manipulated, and how the media and ideology can quickly create a firestorm of hate that makes it easy for societies to crumble. Read even further on how the German army used deceptive tactics to invade Austria and Poland so quickly they didn’t have a chance to prepare.
That’s not a conspiracy theory, that’s history and we all know those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
I guess watering down history is a good thing, right? Taking down statues, changing historical accounts in the name of political correctness, and not encouraging people to critically examine all aspects of history to learn from them helps us become a better society.
Let me give you the Cole’s notes version of how quickly things can go off the rails when the wrong ideology gains traction in a society where people intend to do evil. Again, not saying our current situation is remotely commensurate with our current situation, but it’s a good example of how quickly things can go from good to evil.
Here we go.
1933 - The Nazi Party takes power in Germany. Adolf Hitler becomes chancellor (or Prime Minister) of Germany. Nazis temporarily suspend civil liberties.
1934 - Hitler combines the positions of chancellor and president to become “Fuhrer” or leader of Germany. Jewish newspapers are no longer allowed to be sold in the streets of Germany.
1935 - The Nazis intensify the persecution of people that do not agree with their political philosophy. Jews are deprived of their citizenship and other basic rights.
1936 – Nazi's boycott Jewish owned businesses. The Olympic Games are held in Germany; Signs barring Jews are removed until the event is over. Jews no longer have the right to vote.
1938 - German troops annexed Austria. On Kristallnacht, the “night of broken glass,” Nazis terrorized Jews throughout Germany and Austria and 30,000 Jews are arrested. Jews must carry ID cards (papers!) and Jewish passports are marked with a “J”. Jews no longer had businesses, attend plays, concerts etc. (maybe they were unvaccinated??) All Jewish children are move to Jewish schools. Jewish businesses are shut down; They must sell businesses and hand over securities and jewels. Jews must hand over drivers licenses and car registrations. Jews must be in certain places at certain times.
1939- Germany takes over Czechoslovakia and invades Poland. World War Two begins as Britain in France declared war on Germany. Hitler orders that Jews must follow curfews; Jews must turn in radios to the police; Jews must wear yellow stars of David.
Now I’ll stop there.
Those are all non-debatable historical facts, no subjectivity in my interpretation, just the facts m’am. Look how quickly one ideology took hold in a country ripe for change. At the time of the 1930’s German’s were desperate for change as they had just came out of world war 1 and were suffering from paying reparations for their conduct during that conflict and when Hilter came along he lit a fire under the German people by blaming the Jews for the loss of WW1.
Five years. Five years from the time a tyrant took power until he was able to start killing 6 million people.
Now if you are one of those types that believe “it can’t happen again” look no further to all the other genocides over the past 100 years, up to and including the Uighur crisis currently going on in China where they have over 1 million Uighur Muslims in concentration camps and they are mass sterilizing these people to the point it’s actually consider a genocide, as it’s reducing the Muslim population in the western provinces of China though declining birthrates. If these women don’t submit to forced intra-uterine devices or monthly pregnancy tests, they are put in prisons.
Put in prision because they needed to take a test, shot, or device and wouldn’t?
Say it ain’t so Joe, say it ain’t so.
Folks, some people are evil. Rotten to the core. They have no soul and are in the most desperate need of getting laid of any person on the planet. That’s reality. You can choose to stick you head in the sand and pretend the boogeyman doesn’t exist, but in truth the boogey man will always exist because humans are nasty evil creatures capable of the most horrendous conduct, and if you think ignoring them or passing laws to prevent them from doing things are going to stop them, well you are just stupid. Sorry, I can’t soften that up any because I owe it to you to be blunt in these times.
Now if you’ve made it this far I think you would agree that something is amiss these days, there’s too many conspiracy theories of the past few years that are now seeming to be true, yet no one wants to talk about where the end game is. I’m not sure what it is, but I have some theories, most involved China or George Soros, but the data indicates more towards the former versus the latter.
Trudeau loves China, he’s said so on many occasions to the point of gushing over their communist form of government. His father was a Marxist, and his mother loved communists. Literally. **bow chica bow wow**
Hunter Biden and the Big Guy are in bed with the Chinese in a different way that Margret and Fidel. We’ve seen the emails, the testimony, and the allegations. For them, it’s about money. Last week the Big Guy shut down the investigation that Trump started into the Wuhan lab. That’s now created a firestorm that will likely make 9/11 look like a traffic accident. Coincidence? I think not.
We recently had two Chinese scientists with ties to the Chinese People’s Army kicked out of our highest security epidemiology lab here in Canada after CSIS had concerns they were passing information back to the Wuhan lab (a lab so highly classified Canadian scientists have a hard time getting security clearances to access it), and Trudeau drew the ire of senior Canadian military personnel when he bullied them into allowing the Chinese to hold winter war games at CFB Petawawa. Why is Trudeau so moonstruck with China?
Dot, Dot, Dot.
Once again, I hope I’m wrong. I really, really do, but go back and walk that timeline again and ask yourself if you now understand why Netanyahu hit Hamas as hard as he did.
Never again.
Can you blame him Comrades?
Now as you sit here in North America today, especially in Canada, does it not seem eerily similar to what has happened before in history? Keep in mind that Jews were loaded onto boxcars under the premise to take them to safety from the angry German peoples.
I really do hope my tinfoil hat is too tight and it’s cutting off the circulation to my frontal lobe, I want the Canada back I grew up in, and the America I fell in love with. I just hope this really is just a bad bug that’s part of a cyclical pattern of virology and this isn’t the start of a global war to reorganize the planet power structure and de-populate the globe.
The dots just tell a different story.

The Royal Divorce
It’s 6:30 AM and I just got my first ping back from a team member who is bright-eyed and bushy tailed in the office already and raring to go. He’s replying to an email I had just sent him that to me signals a significant change in direction for this pandemic, or whatever this is.
I love my team. I’ve been fortunate over the last 15 years to have amazing people around me who love what they do.
I also love what I do.
Holy crap. It’s Friday, it’s not raining, and the super volcano in Yellowstone hasn’t blown us all into a sunlight starved apocalyptic world where former 20 something zombies walk around devastated streets searching for cell service so they can google how to grow a potato.
Yes, the coffee is that good this morning.
Good morning wonderful people of Facebook, how are you all holding up out there? Shout out to my Canadian peeps who haven’t been allowed off their property since Doug Ford realized he could shut down Canada’s biggest economy faster than his brother could sniff a line a coke of a hooker’s ass.
I miss Rob. He was the real politician in that family. He didn’t pretend.
But I digress.
It’s been a life changing week for me here somewhere on the east coast of Oceania, after 53 revolutions around the sun I made decision to cut some negativity out of my life and I blocked some people. Now I didn’t just block some people on social media, it was made clear to at least one of them to never darken my door again.
I took my power back this week from two of the biggest bullies of my life.
Now to protect the innocent I’ll not name them because if I did you’d be able to identify the poor family members of those assholes. No, wait. You can’t because I blocked their entire family trees as well because the fruit observed basic rules of physics and they learned the way of their forefathers. I used to say online that I took pride in the fact that in the 14 years I’ve been on social media I’ve only ever blocked one person, a local woman who advocated for the killing of cops. I have lines in the concrete you just don’t cross with me, and that would be one of them. I 100% support the men and women of law enforcement.
This week my position on shutting out negativity changed. I’ll spare you the details (HA, I know, right?) but let’s just say a childhood of abuse to a lifetime of control stopped when I finally said enough. I wouldn’t dare compare my struggle to that of someone who suffers domestic abuse, because I was never physically afraid of them, especially after spending 15 years dealing with those in society who don’t play nice together, but I can now understand what it must feel like for someone who has gone through that process and have gotten to a break though point where they realize it’s not their fault their partner was an asshole.
There is light at the end of the tunnel and it’s not the train.
As I watched the drama unfold between Princess Peachfuzz and Prince Carrottop and their family, I realized at once the fallacy of life where we think because we shared a common womb that we need to be BFF’s for life, and that there’s a familial pecking order that is irrevocable for life.
It’s not and this week the divorce was final.
I mean let’s face it, I realized a few months ago that neither of these people has ever once, and I mean once done anything of themselves for me aside from make my life a living hell at times. But they never had a problem coming to my homes over the years, eating my food, drinking my booze, and then berating me for my life choices, which by the way I’m 100% proud of and you’ll not convince me otherwise that not sucking the family tit dry or finding yourself locked up in prison were better choices.
There really should be a spray you can use on Liberals.
Anyway, I guess my message to everyone this beautiful Friday morning, the start of a wonderful maritime spring weekend, is to take stock of your life and decide if those who don’t add value to your life are worth letting in. Aren’t you worth it? If you allow any other person to have control of you in anyway and it’s not a mutually beneficial need, then why would you bother? I let my boss control me because I need to work, therefore that’s mutually beneficial, but I don’t need a family member telling me how to live, especially when by every measurable metric I feel that I have lived a much happier life then they have. But that’s just my opinion, and we all know about opinions.
It’s been a great week on a few fronts, work is amazing, and we are making great strides in getting the world set straight again (my alternative rant this week was on Government and how they are like a bunch of bears trying to hump a football.... but I'll save that for next week because that isn’t going to change) and over the past few months I’ve been reminded of why I love what I do. It’s been 17 months of hell but I’m hopeful for the first time in a long time that people may be waking up to the attempted re-engineering of the world, and if the world gets re-engineered to the perfect race and I’m not part of the final solution then so be it.
I’m going to live until I don’t. I feel you Prince Carrottop.
Folks, it’s been an amazing half century and I’m positive of what I do have control of for the next half will be even better, because I’ve an amazing woman by my side, my kids and families are doing well, I’m surrounded by positive caring people in my circle and am firing on all cylinders towards making my community a better place.
Note I didn’t say world. The world isn’t my responsibility, my life is and if I live my best life and support those who are living theirs, I know we can make the world a better place without having to say we are making the world a better place. It will be done by osmosis.
Well my coffee cup is empty, but I’ve lots of coffee in the pot and the sun is starting to beam on my face with the promise of a great day. What about you? Is your mug half full or do you need a top up?
Coffees on here and it’s always on for those who need a safe space and a soft shoulder.
Live everyday like it’s your last, just fight to make sure it’s not. It’s within you to live.

The wheels on the bus
There is an episode of the Simpsons where Ralph Wiggum’s is sitting in the back of the school bus as the bus careens recklessly towards the Springfield gorge, crashing into parked cars and sending residents scrambling to avoid its death path. As the scene shifts from a bird’s eye view of the carnage to an inside shot of the bus where Ralph Wiggums, sitting in his seat alone staring straight ahead laughs nervously and states, “I’m in danger”.
That folk’s is how I feel right now.
Happy friday beautiful people of Facebook land, how are we holding up? We are entering week #62 of two weeks to bend the curve and there’s no end in sight to the lockdowns in Canada, those special moves of the elected elite who when confronted with no other solutions from their pea sized brains they pretend that if nobody moves, nobody gets hurt.
Except life doesn’t work that way.
One of my friends said the other day he wished the politicians would stop calling people essential workers, and I could not agree with him more. Every worker is an essential worker. What kind of human being tells another that their value is not valued by society? What kind of monster would rob another peron of their worth based on their perceptions of the contributions another chooses to bring to the table?
Those who believe their worth exceeds everyone else's of course.
If you haven’t caught on yet, let me give you a hint. The likes of Nancy Pelosi and Justin Trudeau don’t care about you. Chuck Shumer and Kamila Harris couldn’t care less if you live or die. It’s only to keep up appearances and get your vote they are interested in. Now don’t get me wrong, some politicians are in it for the right reasons, just keep in mind, most aren’t. They are in it to win it.
Now my rant today isn’t about politicians, they are the subject of my scorn and ridicule far too often. Today I want to talk about the rest of us.
We’re the ones on the bus.
So if you haven’t been paying attention, the world has lost it’s collective mind. It’s either that or we are part of some kind of global social experiment, we are in World War III and don’t realize it, or the giant kid in the sky is shaking the jar vigorously. There’s no rhyme or reason for what we are seeing out there, all done under guise of a “pandemic”.
Now before those of you who normally don’t get this far before your eyes glaze over and you jump to images of me sitting here with my tin foil hat on too tight, hear me out for a minute. There’s too many things that don’t add up, yet we as a collective society (and I use the small dubba-u we because I’m not buying all of it) embrace everything like we are licking the beaters when mom used to bake a cake. Problem is I’m pretty sure they are going to turn the mixer on at some point.
Now I get this “corna is a serious deal. It has a high R value in some variants (transmissibility) and has a high mortality rate in certain segments of the population, but there seems to be more to this than simply preventing deaths, as the cure has become far worse than the disease itself. The shadow pandemic damage has far outweighed the death toll. Suicide rates are through the roof (New Brunswick now has the highest rate in Canada), divorce and realty lawyers are making out like Tony Montana on a cocaine fueled binge, and the economic toll being paid by the current generation and the consequences of political pork barreling will have effects for 50 years on our grand and great grandchildren, and that’s IF they balance budgets starting in the next 5 years.
There’s more to this but I can’t put my finger on it, and I’m not sure why more people aren’t asking more questions.
Why are we killing small business? Small businesses are the heart and soul of our communities, these are the moms and pops who sponsor ball tournaments and hockey leagues. These are the people that ensure we have access to food and services, like getting a hair cut or having physical therapy. It broke my heart the other day to see one of my friends post about not being able to make their mortgage payments because the government keep shutting their salon down.
Why would we shut her down for having a 4-5 people a day get their hair done by her but we can let 200 people congregate in the holy aisles of Walmart? That makes sense, right?
Why are we pushing vaccines that aren’t really vaccines on people who aren’t at risk? They don’t prevent you from getting sick or transmitting the virus, as a matter of fact they don’t even meet the definition of a vaccine, but we are shaming people into taking them even despite they have very little risk of dying from the virus? Why give healthy people with good immune systems drugs they don’t need that were rushed through development in six months with almost zero clinic trials? (Hint: You are the clinic trials btw).
Why are we locking healthy people up, sperating families, making people die alone and giving no closure to people? Makes perfect sense that we deny someone who’s at end of life from seeing their loved ones becaue you know, they might catch the ‘rona before they go.
People confuse me. I’ve actually said on more than one occasion in polite company that our elected leaders have taken leave of their senses with some of the arbitrary and capricious rules these bone heads are coming up with behind closed doors in the suide of public safety.
No. No it’s not. I can tell you with every fiber of my being it’s the entirely wrong approach to this issue. A safety or risk/based approach would not call vaccines that kill healthy children “safe”, nor would we lock everyone up until the boogeyman goes away.
Why? Because we gotta eat. We’ve got to love. We need to feel. We weren’t made to be locked up like the terrible children we are being treated like.
The most egregious example of how we are failing as humanity is how quickly we are allowing our rights to be trampled in the name of this exercise. It's an embarrassment to our forefathers, who let their sons and daughters march off to fight oppression on distant shores knowing full well many wouldn’t return but understanding that the sacrifice for future generations was required or society would pay too dear a price for their inaction. We owe it to their memory to not fold like cheap lawn chairs and allow our hard fought for rights to be trampled by corrupt politicians cheered on by maniacal Karen’s cheering all the way.
Like I said, we’re in Danger.

the world as we thought we know it
Ed. Note -- As I wrote this blog this morning, yet another Ontario family is moving into my neighbourhood, escaping the clutches of a tyrannical woke Ontario (their words, not mine) for the peace of the east coast. I’m pretty sure when this all shakes out this town is going to be radically changed for years to come, but here’s to hoping. - Jim
I know, ya’ll think my tinfoil hat is on too tight these days. Maybe it is, and maybe that’s not a bad thing, but at this point does it even matter, we are watching a train wreck of epic proportions and no one seems to care. It’s like the words from Trooper’s Santa Maria, “But nobody moved, from where they were laying, cause nobody really cared”. I guess Netflix and Chill means more than I had thought.
I was watching (listening) to Scott Adams last evening as I do every few nights and for those who don’t know Scott, He’s the guy who draws Dilbert, and hosts a daily vlog (or whatever the kids are calling them these days) which I enjoy, as there are few left leaning types I can really listen too, and he’s one of the best. We don’t often agree, but the past few nights he and I have been in lockstep on a few things, and that’s very rare but interesting when it happens. Last night however it was something he said about midway through his podcast that really caught my attention. He started out by saying that as you get pulled “behind the curtain” (a showbiz reference I guess) you get to see/learn things that most of the world doesn’t, as if the elites really do run the world (hint: they do) and he teased the crowd by saying something to the effect that he learned something this week that’s bigger than any news story, something so large it would shift people’s minds completely. He went on to say that he couldn’t say what it was because they’d come after him, but that people should question more of what they see and hear. He framed it in the context that people would not even believe the truth if they heard it.
I agree 100%. I believe the average person on this planet now is so afraid, confused, and polarized that they don’t know which way is up, hell just the fact that the world rolled over so quickly makes me sad, but it wasn’t unexpected. We are weak, soft, entitled humans.
As much as you want to deny it, we are in the world’s largest Psyops experiment right now. Governments are pushing the boundaries of human endurance, and we are beginning to turn on one another, whether it’s for not wearing a government mandated facial shaming device when outside your home, or if your neighbours son, fresh home from out-of-province school is out on the patio on his tablet chatting with his best girl when he’s suppose to be self isolating in the basement chained to the wall and fed with a stick.
Disclaimer: Yes, it’s a particularly bad flu. Yes, people will die from it. Yes we should be cautious and prevent catastrophe.
Speaking of being cautious, what is up with the average person beating down their neighbours in the rush to get an experimental unapproved chemical concoction thrust into their arms? WTF dude?
I’ll never understand that mentality. Yes, vaccines save lives and can stop the spread of viruses. Yes vaccines form part of any strategy to manage a pandemic, but it’s just one part. The idea that people are lining up 9 months after a vaccine is started into development for a “new” coronavirus and calling for a mandate to compel every human to take this vaccine is absurd.
It’s madness.
First of all, the concoction they are jabbing into your arms at 0.5 mg/dose isn’t even technically a vaccine. The CDC states a vaccine is “a product that stimulates a Peron’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease. It also defines Immunity as part of the vaccination process to say you can be exposed to the disease without becoming infected.
The current “vaccines” do neither. You can still become sick, and you can still spread it, there are several examples from Washington State, Florida, and Pennsylvania right now where fully vaccinated individuals now have the Coronavirus.
So why get the jab if you can still get it (albeit not be as sick) but you can still spread it? Why are we on a full out campaign war on “getting the jab” followed closely by “vaccination passports”.
It’s about control. It’s about gaining your compliance when told to do something. It’s about stripping your freedoms away all the while you feel like you don’t need them anyway.
I posted a video on social media yesterday of a Pastor of a Calgary church on Good Friday telling a bunch of Calgary police to leave the property and not come back without a warrant. He was very passionate in his calls for them to leave, and believe me when I say that video made me feel great despite the insults he was hurling at my brother’s and sister’s who were sent there to bring justice to the community.
Watch the video, it does a heart good.
Why? Because we have something called the Bill of Rights, and despite the fact it’s “granted” by our “government” it’s the only thing that holds this country together under one set of guiding principles, and despite some doctors proclamation of doom and gloom, people have the right to practice religion, they have freedom of speech, and security of the person and property. Our forefathers fought and died for those rights and we should be a bit more like the Pastor in preserving them. He’s a Polish pastor, who knows what happens when a government is allowed to run unchecked and what happens to the population when it does, and he wasn’t having any of it.
But the more telling story isn’t his fire and brimstone sermon aimed at the poor police (I bet his Good Friday sermon was off the charts!), it was what the police did next.
They left. As Monty Python would sing with a minstrel or two, “They turned their tails and ran they did, they turned their tails and ran and hid). Sorry, but the police don’t just leave when a crime has been committed, or they feel a crime will be committed by the parties in question. He literally shouted them away. Why did they leave?
Likely for a couple reasons. One, they didn’t want to be there in the first place. They were following orders or were dispatched to the church because some politician or Karen felt there were too many people practicing their religion on the holiest of days in the church. Two, they knew there were no grounds to be there because of the recent court ruling that freed the other Alberta pastor who was jailed for holding religious services, remember him? In Canada we jail religious leaders.
Say that again real slow. In Canada, we jail human beings who bring comfort and relief to those who need it in the name of a higher power under a constitutionally protected provision of religious freedoms. Or at least we used to. Now we are no better than the backwater republics we shamed as the former leader of the free world.
So if they knew the courts were not going to support them, why bother? That’s a great question.
I’m not even a religious person, we had Chinese (am I allowed to say that?) food for supper Easter Sunday, but I will fight for your right to practice yours just as hard as I’ll fight against any government mandating forced vaccinations or passports against freedoms.
Over a year ago we were told it was 15-days to “bend the curve” to get back to the “new normal” and such and now look at us a year later at the hands of a government run amok led by over-jealous reality tv stars who haven’t the first clue how to govern and couldn’t stick a hot poker in a snow bank to save their lives.
Folks we are rolling over at an alarming rate and accepting the removal of our rights and freedoms under suspicious circumstances, and you can “tin foil hat” me all day long, I don’t care. Things don’t add up, there’s too many red flags flying and yet as a society we simply want to turn to those “in charge” and say “Please sir, may I have some more”.
They say you won’t miss it until it’s gone and I firmly believe this to be true, especially when it comes to things like mobility rights. Imagine now if they do require vaccinations before you can travel, work, shop etc., (especially ones that provide no protection to others and only minimize your symptoms). We haven’t even talked about those who’ve died, or those who have had their lives changed forever from the initial side effects of the vaccines.
Yes, I said initial. What will happen a year from now as the COV-SARS-19 virus continues to produce hundreds of variants a day (despite what they want you to focus on like some B.1.1.3 etc.) and you come to find out in that rush to get jabs in the arms that the vaccination of the older population first drives the virus into the younger people who then start getting sicker than they originally did because the virus is morphing to stay alive. That’s right, things like Antibody Dependant Enhancement[1] can occur when you start messing with the human bodies abilities to fight off disease naturally as it has for hundreds of thousands of years.
All I’d ask is for you to do your research and have informed consent before you get the jab, and don’t shame others’ who chose not to for their own personal reasons. Like me. I won’t be getting the jab because there’s no compelling reason for me to do so at this time. I’m relatively healthy (Yes, I’m obese so I fall into that risk category) but I have no real heath issues aside from the extra weight I carry around, and I know how to protect myself from the virus, so I’m choosing not to get vaccinated. I. Or people like me, shouldn’t be shamed because our beliefs are different from yours, and the solution doesn’t solve the problem, you only think it does because that’s what you are being told. \
Make your own decision and live with it. If I get the COVID and get sick enough (4% of my age category) to be hospitalized, so be it. I’ll take my chances on that versus being forced to have a chemical injected into my body that will do Gawd knows what to my immune system or any other system for that matter.
The other thing that just baffles me is how people actually believe the flu was eradicated this year. Sorry, are you serious? Do you think every single person in Canada was so diligent at washing their hands that we had no flu season this year?
I should have been a real estate salesperson in Florida selling swampland to tourists. Actually, that doesn’t sound like a bad idea for the next phase.
Anyway, wash your hands, stay socially distant, stay home if you’re sick, and wear a government mandated facial shaming device so you can conform and not be publically humiliated by Karen at Costco as you go to give your Easter offerings to the commerce Gods when you aren’t allowed to go to church to pray to whatever God the constitutions protects your right to bow to.
Get it yet?

Good Dog-Bad Dog
Holy crap it’s Friday and I’m sitting at home in front of the fire, coffee in hand and psycho dog at feet (Yes Dad, I still have job). Looks like we survived another 1/52th of our orbit around a slightly cooler yellow ball of life in the sky and we’ll get to fight the ‘rona for at least another day.
That is if the four legged spawn of Satan doesn’t try to kill us today.
I figured I might use my words today to give ya’ll an update on the fur monsters progress since the last time there was a trip to the Emergency room for any one of the residents at Furlong HQ.
So Lenz, and we have not started calling him Lennie yet because at this point it’d be like refering to Harvey Weinstien as “my cuddly uncle”, has began his transformation from working animal to pet. He no longer sleeps in a locked crate, or spends his days in his outdoor kennel. Nope, now he sleeps spread out in the middle of our king sized bed from 9 pm until 4:45 am, regulating Gloria and I to a mere 1.5’ x 6.5’ slice of diametrically opposed real estate on either side of the bed. Every evening it’s a game to see what letter our sleeping pattern will be, H, N, Z, I, etc. as Lenz determines the path forward, because he generally goes to sleep first, and then there’s just no moving him. Not that you’d want to.
Remember how it took 4 months for us to actually see him sleep? When this ct decides its nighty nighty, you let him go. You don’t wake the nuclear reactor if you plan on getting any sleep yourself. We’ve also toyed with the idea of getting rid of our alarm clock radio because Lenz’s internal clock keeps much better time, and at 4:59 am he’s wide awake (but you’d never know because he’s in K9 stealth mode) until the first notes of whatever music 103.9 is playing at the moment. At that exact moment my body has been trained to fly quickly into a fetal position as Lenz leaps from a low sitting position over me to the floor on the other side of the room in one motion, and if there’s a body part under his hind legs when he launches, there will be curse words and A535 in the immediate aftermath. Obviously 8 months out of training hasn’t unconditioned his agility and strength, but more about that later.
So regardless of the day of week we head downstairs and have our coffee, and by our coffee I truly mean our coffee because Lenz has developed a taste for breakfast blend, and every time I forget to hold my cup in my hand when I get up to do something, I come back to find his barkness standing over the cup with his 12 inch tongue rapidly darting in and out of the cup consuming my morning joe, all the while looking at me with those big brown eyes as to say “don’t judge me”. He also has developed a taste for expensive scotch, but I’ve learned to drink the 14-year and older malts out of a sippy cup to avoid any more embossing apologies to the neighbors, and the trauma to their cat.
Speaking of chasing tail, Lenz unlike his predecessor Ozzy, is not a ladies’ man. Lenz refers to terrorize the members of the female persuasion, mostly by going into full K9 mode when they come visit. No before ya’ll start going all #metoo, there’s a theme. It started with a visit by our realtor who was wearing a long puffy coat, and when she came in to get our signatures on some papers one evening, Lenz went full K9 on her. Keep in mind the ‘rona has prevented us from fully socializing him yet, as we have had hardly anyone at our house since our dark overlords imposed dracoian lockdowns in the name of safety on us (idiots). So any time anyone informs us they are coming over, I keep him on a short leash until he gets a chance to get comfortable with a stranger in his home (and believe me, it’s his home now). So back to our poor realtor who is now standing in our kitchen with a 70lb mouth of teeth gnashing at 100 clamps per hour between full barks and lunges, and I can see her eyes (they are the size of dinner plates) darting between the great white shark teeth and the thin nylon fabric of his walking leash, I imagine praying that the leash holds (Note: he’s gone through 3 so far). He doesn’t normally respond that way to visitors, and it wasn’t until our masseuse came over one evening wearing a puffy jacket that I figured it out.
He sees them as bite suits.
I guess you can take the dog out of the RCMP, but you can’t take the RCMP out of the dog. (Ed. Note – that would explain his love of coffee, scotch, and general distrust of people).
He and Gloria seem to be getting along better, the references to “your f-ing dog” have declined, and I’m no longer allowed to lock him in his crate at night, so that means they’ve bonded somewhat, although the cheeky little bastard as smart as he is doesn’t seem to get that if you keep chewing her favorite slippers, your longevity within the circle of trust will always be tenous at best. Yesterday he ate her favorite Roots slippers.
They still aren’t speaking as of this morning.
Actually he’s been getting less destructive as we find ways to engage him to keep his boredom down, but last month there was the pergola incident. In our backyard we had an aluminum pergola over our dining table that over the winter had the screws loosen a bit that gave it a bit of a lean, so much so we tied two ropes to it one night after a wind storm as I wanted to get some plates made to reinforce the attachment points, and had to go to work. I figured I’d fix it that evening when I got home. When I arrived home that evening there was twist aluminum everywhere the pergola used to be.
Apparently Lenz kept untying the ropes for fun, and Gloria kept re-tying them, up until the point Lenz finally got bored with the game and used the two ropes, once he untied them again, to pull the pergola down, and then quartered it. There was aluminum everywhere, it was a scene directly out of Dr. Detroit (you know the one in the junkyard).
So I guess now we need a new pergola built.
Don’t get me wrong, he has his good points. He’s the cuddliest German shepherd of all times, he loves to spoon and will literally pay on top of you and fall asleep. He eats all leftovers, so there’s not much to go in the compost bin, and he’s the best security system in the world, because if you break into our house you will be the one calling 9-1-1, and that’s if you have it on speed dial. He is one protective MF, especially of Gloria.
All kidding aside, he’s turning into an amazing dog, he’s cute and cuddly on the outside and hype vigilant and protective on the inside, and he’s making progress to civilian life after leaving the force last summer, so there’s hope for getting him to a normal life as a pet. Mind you I’ve been out 13 years and I still struggle at times, but at least he and I can relate (usually over a scotch) and he’s a great listener, and as long as I can keep Gloria in slippers I think he’ll be around awhile. At least until the new pergolas built anyway.
Have Friday folks, be kind to one another, or I’m sending Lenz over for a visit.
Jim out.

bend the knee, not the curve
Welcome to day 362 of the 14 days to bend the curve.
No seriously, this is a thing. If anyone hasn’t sat back and taken a hard look at what our elected officials have put us through in the last 12 months, and came away from that reflection with a WTF attitude, then we’re screwed.
Mind you I think we are screwed anyway, I think we are now part of some giant social experiment concocted by those who think they are in charge, and we’ve played directly into their hand. Canadians rolled over like a cheap canoe when the government started shutting down borders and restricting the movements of Canadians, in direct contravention of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Putting people in useless masks and shaming them when they didn’t, then using government tax dollars to run ad campaigns to encourage Canadians to rat each other out for holding family dinners.
If you supported or encouraged any of this you my friend are part of the problem.
We knew by the middle of last summer that this virus had a recovery rate of over 99.47% and the primary group affected most severely by the disease were those 60 and over, with the predominant mortality occurring in the 70+ group, especially if you had one or more co-morbidity.
For this we shut down the world, destroyed the economy, and incurred staggering amounts of debt, all in the name of safety.
Any safety person worth their salt would have told you this was the wrong approach, and as a matter of fact I did (fun fact, I used to be a safety guy in salt mining, so….), I’ve been on record since June 2020 saying the best way to handle this pandemic until it becomes an endemic is through isolation of the venerable populations, rapid testing to identify asymptomatic persons before they have a chance to cause outbreaks, and good personal hygiene habits |(wash your hands, stay distant, stay home if you are sick). Wear a mask if you want, but understand the risks and limitation of doing so.
That’s it. Oh, vaccines? Yes, if people would like, but keep in mind a few fun facts about vaccines before you understand why they aren’t the panacea they government is telling you they are. First of all they only protect you, no one else. While some studies state they may reduce the transmissibility of the virus, it doesn’t stop it; they only reduce the intensity of the sickness you will experience through the reduction of the viral load, which in turn will reduce the potential for passing it onto your loved ones.
Just like the flu shot. Remember the flu? The flu shot, developed over the last 50-60 years is around 60% effective at preventing serious symptoms in people from Influenza A or B. For those who don’t know, the flu we had back in the day is actually the Spanish flu. Anyone remember that? As well, if you are paying attention, people are dying from the vaccines. Look it up. Healthy people dying within days of getting the second dose, cardiac arrest, liver failure, the immune system turning on itself. It’s all out there for you to look up to make a rational decision if the risk is worth the reward, and for you to make an informed consent to getting the vaccine. Up to you, but not for me. I’m healthy with no co-morbidities, I’ll be taking my chance on the ‘rona, and if that means I don’t travel, oh well. Been there.
This is an endemic, meaning it’s going to be around awhile folks, so we better get learning to live with it. Hiding from it is not going to work, because again, any safety person worth a damn knows that “nobody move, nobody gets hurt”, but nobody eats either. You have to get out of bed every day or you’ll die lonely and afraid looking out from under a cloak of fear given to you by those who would want to see you fearful and afraid.
My tin foil hat must be on pretty tight this morning, I’m getting angry that people are just lapping up what the people who have unchecked egos to go with the side of unlimited power are telling them and not even questioning why they are doing it. It’s the greatest human social experiment of all time.
Take for example the ritual face shaming devices these virtuous doctors of holy health and wellness are pushing on the unwashed masses. Ask yourself what reducing the flow of oxygen to your brain will do over time, better yet, Google it a bit. Any health official who recommends restricting you’re breathing for any reason, especially telling people to wear these restrictive devices for 8, 10, or 12 hours per day. I watched someone the other day put a pulse oxyimeter on with a mask in place. 89% oxygen within a minute of putting on the mask. 98-99% is normal. Took it off and it goes back to 98%. Now go back to the googling and ask yourself how much damage we are doing to society when every 4th car has a person driving around alone wearing a mask.
Oh and how judgmental we’ve become. People afraid and projecting that projection onto those who aren’t, shaming them for their transgressions whether it’d be for not wearing a mask properly or because their mom or dad is a rotational worker and they might be carrying the ‘rona on the school bus. Suicides amongst children are at an all time high. Shouldn’t kids be being kids instead of wanting to kill themselves because the adults can’t get along?
I’ll be honest; I’m kind of disgusted with the whole thing, but not unsurprised. As someone who loves history and has spend many nights reading books on how societies of the past fell and how ideologies of the few can cause pain to the many, it was entirely predictable this would happen, I just didn’t expect it in my lifetime. Call me a conspiracy theorist if you must label me, if you haven’t figured out by now I just don’t care, but at least pay attention to what is going on around us and try to care. If we don’t start caring and at least pushing back, we will very quickly find ourselves once again beholden to Kings and Queens and no longer free persons.
Our freedom, won by our forefathers and paid for with their blood is worth fighting for, and if you don’t think we are on a slippery slope, turn off CNN and GOOGLE and start watching some film from around the world from non-traditional sources. Watch what’s really going on and ask yourselves if a virus that has a recovery rate of 99.47% rates the type of response we are seeing. Go look at Australia and some of the powers the government has imposed. Watch some of the footage of how citizens are being treated in England.
It just doesn’t add up from a science or good governance perspective. I thought we were just trying to protect the hospitals.
Anyway, what do I know aside from its Sunday morning and I need another coffee. Good morning Comrades, be kind to one another. It’s mandatory.

For the first morning in I don’t know when there are no brown eyes looking up at me (or in reality, my toast) while I sit in front of the fire enjoying my first sip of java on this gorgeous Saturday morning.

That’s right, we’re dogless.
His Royal Highstrungness is off socializing with strangers this weekend as mom and I enjoy a respite from the ever on ball of energy, call it a parenting break, but its actually more of a “let’s test our homeowner’s insurance policy against a lawsuit” type test. Part of me wants to unplug the phone for the next 36 hours in fear they call to tell me to come get my dog because he burned down the place.
Isn’t fear wonderful? It’s the one emotion that significantly limits us as humans from reaching our full potential. Babies are born without a sense of fear, but it develops rather fast. Some scientist believe the reason for this is to allow human babies to learn to move around with their bodies in their environment before fear stops them from wanting to learn to move. Think about it. If babies were born with the fear of falling, they would never move. They’d just lay there, paralyzed with the fear of falling, safe in their comfort that if they don’t move, they won’t get hurt.
Kind of like most humans have become.
Don’t deny it, I see it. I see you. You’ve allowed them to take control of your fear. Everyday I interact with people who have lost control of their ability to perceive risk and evaluate controls to keep themselves safe from harm.
I see it in the eyes. I hear it in the text of comments on social media. I feel it in the emptiness of our streets.
You are laying there paralyzed in fear. Just where they want you to be.
Relax, it’s natural for you to be in complete fear of the world right now, that’s what they designed. I’m 53 years old, I think I’m fairly intelligent, I’ve navigated through life so far with the tools my parents and teachers equipped me with, I’ve not ended up in jail (facebook jail doesn’t count) and raised a couple half-decent kids (let’s see if they read these) and travelled around the globe a bit to see how the other half live, but here’s what I’ve had to live with in those short 53 years.
I first recall the world famines that were coming in 1975, it was already too late for civilization and I felt guilty about eating my beans and weiners. Next it was air pollution and how it would cause an ice age by the 21st century and that the world was going to get very cold. I remember wondering to myself if our furnace would be able to keep the house warm. We had to get rid of brown paper bags to help the forests help us, and these new plastic bags were going to save the world.
By the late 70’s, the ozone layer was going to kill us all as the spray cans were ripping a hole in the atmosphere and deadly gamma rays were going to melt our faces. Then in the early 80’s, acid rain came along threatening to destroy our world in a few years with deluges of toxics water from the heavens, but by the late 1980’s they ice age had been called off, and they decided to turn the heat up and global warming was born.
Droughts, famine, and sea levels rising were the order of the day, and I can remember Dr. Friz VanWacko at Dal telling us in 1987 that within 30 years the Maldives were going to be under water, gone forever.
Funny, Facebook has been pelting me with ads for the Maldives for the last month, they must still be open or we need a fact check on aisle 6. I’ll also be honest, the ads are working, but I digress…
I can go on and on, but you know where I’m going, right?
GET IT YET?
Folks, they want us to live in a perpetual state of fear. Fear is the greatest motivator, and those who seek power use it as the lever to get us to do what they want, whether it’s an abusive spouse or Justin Trudeau, they use fear to keep us in control.
And we let them. We let them and they win, so shame on us. Then they use us to control others’, shaming is the new black. They’re now using us to control others’ and its genius. It is the ultimate way to subjugate a population. Keep people cowering at home under the bed, afraid to move all the while you make the changes you want in the world with no resistance.
Genius. We’ve seen this before, right?
We’ve become just like that newborn baby. A baby that knows if it never moves it will never get hurt. It will be safe.
But it will also never move, grow, or experience life. It will be denied the value of living a life fulfilled, of experiencing all the things this life holds that makes the risk of moving worthwhile, and sadly at some point it will shame the other babies who fail about in reckless abandon seeking their stairs to climb, all because they are too afraid to move themselves.
I’ve known debilitating fear, fear so deep you can’t breathe. I also learned early on in my life that when you are confronted with a crisis you have three “seconds” to live. A second to realize your in crisis, a second to panic, and by the third second you must respond to the threat or you will die. I learned that from Scuba Steve, my scuba instructor when I was 13. Best life advice ever, and no matter if I had gotten myself in a bad place on a motorbike or exceeded my comfort level chasing someone through the woods at 4 am, I remembered the three second rule.
Folks, most of society is stuck at second two. Seriously, people are paralyzed in fear.
How will you respond? How will you move past fear?
I know how I’ll respond, the same way I’ve responded for the last year. Going to keep washing my hands, keeping socially distant, and I’ll stay home if I’m sick, but that’s it. I refuse to cower under my bed, I want to live a life of happiness and fulfillment, just like I have through multitudes of crisis I’ve been subjected too over the last 53 years. Oh, and I plan to offer Justin my vaccine. He needs it more than I, because I don’t fear death, I fear not living.
Sorry for being so deep this fine Saturday morning but I felt I had to get this off my chest. I see the fear in many people’s eyes who used to live large lives. People who used to laugh, carry-on and really live have become skittish and fearful, posting mask-shaming and virus sightings on-line, and if that’s your choice on how you want to live, I respect that. But it’s how you are going to live, not me.
Happy Saturday fine folks of the world, what are you going to do today to fulfill your life?
I’m going to enjoy finishing my coffee and counting the hours down until I go out into the world and pick up my brown-eyed buddy, hopefully who hasn’t trashed the place on his first visit.

Lead, follow, but get the F$%& outta the way.
Forgive me father for I have sinned. It’s been 30 days since my last rant.
But what a 30 days it’s been. Trumps gone into hiding, Mr. Potato head is in the White House, and Justin Trudeau is asking for Canadians to just “Trust him “with their very lives as he lines Canada up at the vaccine food bank for developing nations.
Or as I like to call it, the new normal.
Did you miss me sheeple? I know a bunch of you missed my slightly right of center muisings because you told me you did. Well, some of you did. Ok, one of you may have implied you missed hearing my voice booming from the silicone based mountaintops.
So what a shit show eh? The wheels are slowly staring to come off the bus, people are starting to crack and I think if someone doesn’t hurry up and grab the wheel we are all about to go flying over the precipice like a collective Thelma and Louise. Think I’m kidding? Is anyone paying close enough attention to what’s going on. I bet you thought it was cute the first time someone you knew was sent to Facebook jail didn’t you. It was funny to watch someone have their access to “society” cut off because they think differently than you do. Cool isn’t it.
If you were curious to know why I shut down my social media presence in the wake of the cancelling of the President of the United States, you haven’t been playing along. That’s the single most scary thing that I have ever witnessed. Single most scary thing ever.
Imagine if they can cancel the “most powerful” person in the world what they can do to you and I.
I’m going to let that one marinate with you for a bit, it’s fairly deep and really deserves a fair amount of thought because what can happen next is very very very scary.
Anyway, I’m in a fan frickin tastic mood this morning and I’m not going to ruin a nice coffee glow go to waste on the negative, I’ll instead focus on the positive.
So for those playing along at home this week (*groan*) our politicians (much different than our technocrat overlords) are busy trying to find new ways to screw with your life and make you question reality completely. Take it from someone who works with the fine men and women of the politbureau on a daily basis that there’s only one image you need to burn into your brain to completely understand your government’s response to the 2019 through 2028 plandemic.
Visualize a large group of egotistical bears collectively trying to fuck a football.
Now do you get it?
Folks, we have completely lost our collective societal mind at this point. Out east where I live we have political demigods who actually believe they can eradicate a virus by throwing up a stop sign and deputizing a fish cop to interrogate Canadians on why they are getting their groceries on one side of an imaginary taxation line or the other. We literally are ripping families apart, denying people basic dignities, destroying our economic base, pitting peoplekind against peoplekind, and generally just trashing the place.
We are, we are literally trashing the place because we don’t have leaders in the public realm anymore, we have celebrities who think they are leaders because they have nice hair.
You are seeing it. Look no further than the summer residence of the former first lady of Canada, when each day, at the assigned hour of noon, the Crime Minister of Canada arises from his slumber in the basement (Bed head is critical for the 19-35 female demographic), puts on a grim face and parades before the chose few and makes it rain cold hard Canadian taxpayer cash onto the charity de jour so his admirers can watch gleefully from afar and show air hands at the generosity We Canadians show.
All the while our G7 nation is amongst the worst off in the WORLD for vaccinating our subjects.
We should be so proud, but we shouldn’t be surprised. We created this mess by giving everyone a trophy, by making everyone the same. We started penalizing those who excelled in their chosen fields and then we rigged the game.
We lost our way because we chose to follow the wrong type of people.
In my real life I often get to interview people who are vying for their next role, their next step in their careers, and one of the questions I always ask of an aspiring candidate is “Who are your role models and why?”. I think that question speaks volumes about a person’s character and who they aspire to be. But it’s not the first part of the question that’s important to me, it’s the second. I want to know what this persons leadership style is going to be like, because we emulate those we admire most.
Problem is we have chosen to follow leaders like Justin Trudeau and Nancy Pelosi.
Justin Trudeau is not a leader, not even close to being a leader. He’s a figurehead with an ego. He’s not unlike a certain health minister here in our region. They believe their own press. They believe they know what’s best for you & I despite the fact what they are doing isn’t working the way they think it is. They are dangerous leaders, and their actions have led us to the edge of the cliff I spoke of earlier.
We needed a plan, we needed transparency, and we needed bold actions.
We got platitudes and charity for female education in the 3rd world when we should have immediately started construction of ICU surge capacity and pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity. We needed a national testing strategy and the ability to convert Canadian fiber into N95 masks and gowns. We needed communities to organize to protect and service their most vunerable. Something as setting up empty hotels for first responders to use while rotating shifts and safe day cares for their children so they could man those lines 100% without having to worry about their families.
Why didn’t our leaders do this?
That’s because they were busy pushing their political agenda’s along versus doing the job they were put in place for in the first place.
I’m disgusted by our politicians in power. Photos ops, daily TV shows where they lead with fear and chastise the unwashed masses for their bad behaviour all the while living not like thee because I’m me. It’s pathetic yet we applaude and say thank you sir, may we please have some more.
I want more vaccines manufactured in Canada for those who want them (you can have mine, I’m good taking my chances with the ‘rona). I want a secure supply of medical PPE made in Canada, not China. I want programs that make sense and policy that follows science, not just medicine. I want a leader to run the crisis response not some medical demigod with an ego on a power trip that will kill more people than it saves.
I want real leadership in times of crisis, not political theater.
I’m beyond frustrated and I know it’s apparent in my prose. I want better for my community, my province, my country, and my world. I want sanity and rationale approaches to get the world moving again. I want politics to go away.
I want a lot apparently.
I want the world back, but to do that we need to shift thinking to a more moderate view versus keeping on the polarizing path we’ve been on the past 20 years. We are allowing politics to control human safety to the point now we are killing people with the controls we put in place to keep people safe. I read a great quote from Mike Rowe last night I think sums up my position on life that I think everyone needs to read.
"if you elevate the business of staying alive to the very, very top of all things, then the only thing you'll ever do is stay alive. You won't go anywhere. You won't try anything or build anything."
This is what we need from our leaders, ones that understand risk and how to translate needs into actions using a transparent plan, not making one up week to week. This is what we should all want.
Ok, I’m done for now.
Get out there and live safely, but live. Oh, and stop voting for celebrities, start voting for leaders.
Love ya all.
Jim Out.

New Year, Old Me
The smell of breakfast cooking is filling the house, my dogs is at my feet chewing on his indestructible dollar store ball as happy as a clam (ed note. – how do we know clams are actually happy?) and 2021 has begun with sunshine streaming in every window filling the day with the promise of a bright and prosperous future. Even Gloria is in the kitchen singing to the music playing on the radio.
Then there’s the 30 centimeters of snow forecast for tomorrow. Fack.
I love my Christmas vacations. We took a cruise for Christmas two years ago, I’ll never do that again. Not just the competition with 1300 little off spring for wifi when we were trying to sell a house Christmas eve, there’s just something about doing a whole lot of nothing for 10 days that really appeals to the inner child in me.
I’ve played countless hours of Minecraft. I’ve watched hours of videos. I’ve read, I’ve cooked. We’ve talked about whatr’s next, what’s been, and who. We’ve played with the dog, a lot.
The only thing missing was the kids. I miss them dear
Christmas was awesome for it just being the three of us. We did that on purpose.
2020 was a challenging year in many respects. We lost Ozzy in June, that was a major life event for us both that neither of us saw coming. Then there’s the plandemic, yes, tin foil hat in fully bloom, the politicians of the world are wrecking society over a bad flu. Even politicians in the 1918 pandemic weren’t as incompetent. As someone who has managed risk my entire career I can unequivocally say they fucked this up, likely on purpose. I say on purpose because there’s no way the stupid could be this collective. The costs to society based on the actions of our elected officials over the past year have damaged mankind (not peoplekind moron) and will have lingering effects for decades.
I just can’t grasp the level of incompetence I’ve witnessed in our governments, but I’m not surprised.
2020 professionally was one of my best years ever, mind you I worked a lot, but I’ve never been afraid of that. From mid-March until July I worked every single day from Moncton, dealing with bad decisions made by governments every single day trying to keep the country going. Imagine dealing with hundreds of governments, none who talk to each other and correlate activities. It’s an epic shitshow every day, but it’s honest work.
I’ve met some amazing new friends this year, and we’ve developed some new relationships. I’ve watched some of my team members grow exponentially, as well as watched some of my peers hit their stride. It’s awesome to see people at their best, and knowing you had a hand in helping them get to that place. That’s what I live for now.
Living back home has been a major challenge for me, not some much for Gloria. We came back for her, she wanted to be home and now she is. Life is good here, don’t get me wrong, but I hate living in the fishbowl. People talk too much and invest themselves in others’ business way too often, it’s that part of living here I don’t like. Everywhere else we’ve lived no one cared what kind of car you drove or where you went on vacation, but down east it’s blood sport. The difference for me this time round is I just don’t care what they think or say, their opinion means nothing. Unless I’m paying you for advice, I’ll give it the due consideration it deserves. The day I learned that was likely the day my life changed for the better, and I remember it well.
I’m starting to enjoy living home again, but not for the reasons you’d think.
I’m enjoying the familiarity of people again, the people who interact with us at our favorite restaurants, stopping and chatting with people at Superstore, knowing what is really going on in our community. Those are the kind of things you miss living the lifestyle we did for 20 years bouncing all over the globe. We missed that connection with community.
We are enjoying making our current house our home and putting our touches on it. It’s been a labor of love because as my realtor Cathy said the day we were doing the home inspection and I had a parade of contractors lined up on the street, there’s no way I’ll ever get my money back out of this place. Nope, I won’t. But I’m ok with that. I grew up watching this house and wanting it, now that I own it it’s fun to bring it back to it’s original beauty and improving it’s functionality. Plus we have awesome neighbors and everyone looks out for one another.
I like my job. I like my boss. I still enjoy what I do, and that’s a positive. I’ve been very fortunate to have worked with amazing people throughout my career, but over the last year dealing with a pandemic, 18,000 employees across dozens of companies and multiple jurisdictions who move the goal posts daily, I’m very thankful for the team I work with are all A players. We accomplished more this year than I would have ever thought possible given the circumstances.
Then there’s politics. Relax, you knew it was coming, I’ve not ranted very often about anything that doesn’t at least brush up against politics.
2020 was a political shitshow of epic proportions. In Canada we have a buffoon as Prime Minister who is selling out this country to communist China. He’s not even hiding it anymore. The WE scandal should have affronted every single Canadian and we should have marched on Ottawa to demand his resignation and incarceration.
But we didn’t. So we get what we deserve.
In the USA Trump lost a crooked election, and no, you cannot convince me otherwise. It was a surgical strike in key swing states carried out with militaristic effort. I watched hearings in Wisconsin, Illinois and Georgia. There was enough fraud to cost Trump the election. But am I upset? Yes, a bit. Will I get over it? Of course. The democratic party has no morals, the ends justify the means and they had no qualms about using deception and fraud to elect a senile career politician who has accomplished nothing in a 47 year career on capitol hill, one who is racist (not an opinion, there’s his words in video and print) and can’t remember what state he is in most of the time.
And they elected him with more votes than Obama? Seriously?
The entire election reeks. Thousands of consecutive ballots, all votes for Joe, with no down ticket selections. Consecutive. Let me say it again for the kids in the back. Thousands of consecutive ballots for Joe with no down ticketing. (Down ticketing is voting for a set of party candidates, so President, Judges, etc on the ballot). Can you even begin to grasp the statistical probability of that? Let’s just say the odds of having that many consecutive ballots all for just Joe are astronomical, kind of like getting hit by lightening in your basement on your birthday while having a heart attack during a solar eclipse.
Even that’s more statistically likely.
But at the end of the day, if congress accepts the electors then Biden will be my president. I’m not that stupid or arrogant to say otherwise, although I know in my heart of hearts he stole it. But that’s irrelevant, and he has to look at himself in the mirror every morning just like I do.
What I have learned in the past year is local politics are more important than national politics, and we need to move towards more local control of our resources versus Provincial or Federal control. I’m excited for our new town council and have great hope they will energize this town, as we are poised on the precipice of opportunity. People are relocating here from all over, buying homes sight unseen. Why? Because its small and safe. That’s my theory anyway. With the gig economy, many workers can work from anywhere (I did it for years) and why live in a congested city with all the issues and expense that come with it when you can live like a king in small town Nova Scotia. For the first time in my life people WANT to move here, not away. That’s a huge opportunity that we need to build on.
Anyway, I guess I’m trying to say that while 2020 had it’s challenges, for us there is a lining in the cloud that we shouldn’t overlook. We ended the year on a high note with the perfect New Years eve for the three of us, a few drinks, a cigar by the fire, and McDonalds. Yep, 2020 didn’t deserve anything more than a McChicken and fires.
So those are my final thoughts for 2020, the year has now passed and 2021 has arrived, full of promise, hope, and excitement. What you will make of 2021 lies within you, and you alone. You can choose to climb a mountain or read a book, but all I ask of you is you help us maintain the ability to have the freedom to choose. That is my only fear going into the new year is that we are allowing our freedoms to be taken away at an alarming pace, with no sign of resistance. That’s not a good thing. Once your freedoms are gone, you won’t easily get them back.
Happy New Year folks, its going to be amazing. Either that or the murder hornets show up and then it’s over.
Jim Out.
