Theon and Sansa’s relationship in a nutshell. Seriously.

They’re also simultaneously Greg and Rodrick though bc as a younger sibling that was viciously terrorized, Theon feels like it’s his civic duty to give it back to the Starks tenfold and yes that includes Sansa and Arya because he’s a feminist™️ (only sees 10 women as people)

Because Robb and Sansa are so close in age, as they get older, their friend groups sort of congeal and inevitably start committing incest.

HOWEVER COMMA, in any quintessential kingsansa fic where Theon is a bonus Stark, he has already infiltrated Sansa’s friend group well before that, much to her dismay and naturally—it’s Robb’s fault.

Robb is one of those friends that gets into a relationship and either drops off the face of the earth or starts trying to include his significant other in literally EVERYTHING. Like why is he bringing Jeyne Westerling to the bar to watch the 76ers game…….

Theon would actually rather be waterboarded than spend time with Jon alone so he pretty much has no choice but to outsource for company.

Who else better to hang out with than Myranda (the female version of him) and Mya (who possesses the same lack of impulse control)

Literally the three stooges. All of them. Sansa hates every second. Like he lowkey staged a coup and snatched them from her?

But, to be fair, as the mom friend she feels like she’s gonna have a heart attack every time they all go out together so Sansa is kinda glad whenever they hangout without her because there’s a 80% chance they’re doing something so stupid it’d give her an aneurysm.

They also get into no less than three (3) arguments every time they go out and every time someone accuses him of being her boyfriend she dies a little inside because that’s literally her brother?

Don’t let Theon see a girl he thinks is cute from across the room either because he will literally launch Sansa into the ozone layer if that’s what it takes to smash

Sansa is not allowed to go home with anybody when he’s around btw—not that she would but still. He doesn’t feel like hearing Robb’s mouth.

Whenever she’s dating a guy though, she does go to Theon for advice because he’s always going to be brutally honest. And vice versa.

The straw that really breaks the camel’s back is when Theon starts dating Jeyne Poole, who is going to do WHATEVER it takes to turn a whore into a house boyfriend. By any means necessary.

You’d think that’d mean that Theon and Robb would just hang out with their girlfriends TOGETHER, but what it actually means is that Theon is a semi permanent third wheel to almost all of Jeyne and Sansa’s outings because 1) it’s the only way he gets to spend time with his OWN girlfriend because the only time Sansa and Jeyne go hours without talking to each other is when they go to sleep and 2) he has a car and neither of them feel like driving.

Sometimes she’ll even sit in the back with Sansa? Like is he a fucking Uber driver?

And YES he pays for her food too. Because that’s his sister.

Does she feel like killing him most days? Of course. Is he one of the first people she goes to for fashion advice? Duh.

Would he help her dump a body? Without question. Would he complain the entire time? Absolutely.

Would u share more about your writing process and how you build out your characters? I feel like your characterization is always so unique while still true to the core of each one! Are u writing story timelines or character sheets / do u have a staregy for managing it all

My process is definitely more refined than it was a year ago, or even a few months ago. But I’m still a very type B person at my core, so planning too much is kind of dangerous because then I’ll start to feel like I’ve written the story already and I’ll get bored. I try to keep it as fast and loose as possible while also giving myself a concrete foundation to build from. I start with what I want to happen (which matters most) then I organize that into how I need it to happen. Around this time, pieces of dialogue will start to appear in my head, so I’ll start writing them down as I go. Lately when I’ve been writing, I’ve started with the dialogue at the end of the story, which is pretty strange. But it helps me see the finish line more clearly and by the time I’m done, I know how I’m gonna get there.

As for characterization, I don’t really do anything. I build a story around a concept and I adjust the characters to said concept. If anything, I tend to think of them in shades. Do I want to play with the lighter aspects of their character or do I want to play with the darker aspects? How can I twist those lighter aspects into something more gray? How can I manipulate these traits to achieve my goals in this story?

As you can tell, I owned a LOT of barbies growing up, lol

It’s mostly because of his height lmao. Running backs don’t really need to be super tall. And I’ve based everyone off actual football players in the league for the most part

Harry did not see that girl as his girlfriend. He was messing with several someones at the time and that just happened to be the one that Sansa was aware of. When Jon said Harry was plotting on her, he was actually very much telling the truth. Despite knowing Sansa was in some kind of relationship, he was fully confident in his ability to wreck that home, for lack of better phrasing. When said girl came up in conversation, having ascertained that Sansa would (a) be put off by the fact that he was regularly hooking up with these girls and showing no interest in commitment and (b) no longer feel comfortable talking to him if she knew he was single, he told a white lie. What Sansa doesn’t realize, even to this day, is that she’s the only person that Harry has ever considered his girlfriend. He even waited six months into their relationship to start cheating on her—not that she knew. And to him, that was the height of romance! He loved her enough to hide it well! But then he got comfortable and complacent and well…you know the rest.

Did Jon know the extent of Harry’s machinations? No. Was his suspicion of Harry half based in insecurity and paranoia? Yes. Was he wrong though? Absolutely not.
