Contact deadlines - for both creators and bidders
If you haven’t yet heard from your creator (or from your high bidder: don't worry yet! It's still very early.
The auction comes at a busy time for a lot of people, creators and bidders both. There are lots of participants who don't have the time or bandwidth, this particular week in March, to write the email they want to write. That doesn't mean they aren't excited! It just means they haven't been able to make time to make contact yet.
(Though if you’re a Gmail user, you should also check your social and promotional tabs! It’s entirely possible that you have received an email and you just can’t find it.)
That being said: now is a good time to write (or reply) to your bidder (or creator) if you haven't yet done so. Even if the only thing you can say right now is "I'm very busy at the moment, more later," that will really help soothe the anxieties of the person who is waiting to hear from you!
Now is also a good time to mention that we do have contact deadlines for creators and bidders!
CREATORS are expected to reach out to their bidders by APRIL 1st
BIDDERS are expected to reply to their creators by APRIL 15th
Again, this can just be a quick note to let them know you're busy right now. Just some kind of check-in so they know you aren't ignoring them.
We will post reminders about each of those deadlines as they approach. If you are a bidder(/creator) who has not heard from your creator(/bidder) by the deadline above, that is the time to email us so we can reach out to them on your behalf.

FTH 2025 Donation Totals
Friends, this has been an extraordinary year for the auction. We know how and why this happened: like in early 2017, everyone is scared and upset and looking for a way to do something meaningful.
And—just like in 2017, and every year since—hundreds of us have stepped up to support our most vulnerable neighbors and the organizations working to protect them.
Except this year, we did it on a scale we've never done before.
Last year, our donation total was an incredible $67,776.28
This year's donation total...
are you ready for it....
(you're not ready for it. we weren't.)
This year's donation total is:
Yes, you're reading that right. $127,204.11
We're flummoxed too—and deeply grateful to everyone who has poured their time and effort and money and love into participating in the auction this year, and into the fanworks that will come from it.
If you're curious about how those donations were distributed across the different organizations, here is the breakdown (this breakdown doesn't include employer match donations, which is why the total is a little lower):
Bellingcat: $2,636.19
Congo Leadership Initiative: $2,842
Crips for esims for Gaza: $4,762.60
Disability Law United: $3,835.39
Environmental Integrity Project: $3,712
Fight for the Future Education Fund: $3,108
Freedom to Read Foundation: $7,139.50
Global Project Against Hate and Extremism: $6,473
Hope for Ukraine: $12,613.93
In Our Own Voice: National Black Women's Reproductive Justice Agenda: $3,626
Middle East Children's Alliance: $13,572.43
National Network to End Domestic Violence: $4,999.95
Never Again Action: $4,555
News Literacy Project: $3,745.16
Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights: $10,072.56
Umbrella: organizations serving vulnerable LGBTQ people
Brave Space Alliance: $2,558
Kentucky Health Justice Network Inc: $2,636
Sherlock's Homes: $7,780.77
TransFamily Support: $5,387.01
TransQueerPueblo: $2,949
Other local LGBT organizations: $10,696.71 Yes, you're reading that right again. Three orgs AND the cumulative Other local LGBT orgs broke five figures.
We're especially delighted because, for the first time, the umbrella category worked the way we've always hoped it would! As you can see above, significant numbers of people used the umbrella category as a way to connect to an organization local to them.
As we learned through people's comments on the donation form, some people donated to organizations they were already familiar with (and in some cases had already donated to, or even volunteered at); others used this as a reason to learn more about their local organization and support them.
We'll share more about the "other umbrella" donations over the next few weeks—some more detailed stats, as well as the names of some of the local orgs that people donated to—and we'll invite those of you who connected up with local orgs to share your stories. We love that so many people took this chance to support groups working in their own community, and we hope that we can keep that going next year and beyond!
And speaking of the future!
Now is a great time to follow @fth2025fanworks. We'll use that blog to share any auction fanwork that gets posted to tumblr.
We urge you to keep up with the organizations you supported this year (and the others on our list!) Follow them on social media, subscribe to their newsletters, whatever works best for you. It will enable you to keep an eye on the good work you've helped support, and to find out quickly when these orgs need some extra support, financial or otherwise.
And if you're looking out at the world and feeling the itch to do more, here are some possibilities:
Follow @fthaction, the meatspace activism wing of FTH. We relaunched this project in the weeks between the end of signups and the beginning of browsing period, sharing some reading lists, an individualized activism bingo card, and an AMA with activist and organizer Kat Calvin. (We also did a test-flight AMA with ourselves, talking about the auction.) We'll probably need some time to recover from this year's auction, but we'll be back soon with more resources to share, more AMAs, and more tools for exploring all the different forms that meaningful activism can take and for figuring out which ones are right for you.
Organize your own auction! We've put together a detailed playbook that contains that contains as much information and as many resources as we can provide for getting an auction off the ground, including detailed guides. Almost everything in the playbook is fully public; there are a few forms that are access-locked because google has stupid ideas about sharing forms, but we're happy to give you access to those, too: just drop us an email.
Over here at FTH headquarters we are all in need of a long nap. But we'll be back in a couple of weeks, as promised, to share more about the umbrella orgs and to dig back into @fthaction to see what's possible.
Looking forward to a whole bunch of new fanworks! <3 your FTH mods

Donation proof is due THIS WEEK
Hear ye, hear ye, the donation deadlines approacheth!
Right now, we're sitting at about 90% of high bid donations confirmed which is great! If you're one of the ~10% that haven't already submitted your proof of donation to us, this is your reminder!
Check your creator's auction posts to see which organizations they selected and make your donations. You can cross-reference their list against this post to see if any of their selections could use some more love and maybe send your donation that way.
High Bidders, you have until tomorrow, Wednesday, March 12th to submit your proof of donations.
If you don't get your bid in by the end of Wednesday, the winning spot will be given to the second highest bidders and you may be banned from future auctions.
Second High Bidders, you have until Friday, March 14th to submit your proof of donations.
If you're having any trouble, please let us know as soon as possible so we can try and help. And don't forget to check your spam or social tabs folder if you think you should've gotten a bidder email from us but haven't seen it.
Thank you all again for participating this year!

There's still time to sign up to join ROFL!
One of our favorite side projects at FTH is the Regiment of Fan Laborers, or ROFL: a group of beta readers, sensitivity readers, expertise pickers, translators and other fan laborers who are on hand to offer FTH creators assistance with their auction fanworks.
We love this project because (like the auction itself) it helps build connections and community between fans. It's also a great way for creators to find out how amazingly helpful fan labor support can be!
And? You can sign up even if you didn't offer a fanwork in the auction!
The ROFL signup form will be open through Wednesday, March 12th. Fill it out to join the roster to offer fan labor support to our creators as they work on their FTH2025 fanworks. Whether you want to join for the year or just until you've helped one person, we'd love to have you! (If you said "yes" to joining ROFL during auction signups, no need to do it again! We've got you.)

Bouncing bidders!
We still have several bidders whose emails are bouncing! We have multiple possible usernames for each of them - if you know anyone who goes by any of these, or something similar, let us know and tell them to email us at fandomtrumpshate at gmail dot com ASAP! They will lose their auctions if we don't hear from them by Wednesday evening.

Check spam, Promotions, AND Social!
Our only issue used to be our emails occasionally going to spam folders. But now most Gmail users have Promotions and Social tabs as well, and we're getting a lot of reports of our emails winding up in those places.
Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do on our end to change this. That's something that happens on the recipient's end, and a number of things factor into whether —and how— a particular email gets filtered. You, however, can do a few possible things to make sure you get our emails in a timely manner:
Check everywhere reguarly - if you're not in the habit of looking at these tabs, now is the time to start. We might not be the only relevant emails that are winding up there, either! If they're filling up with so much junk that you don't want to check them and have to deal with it, maybe it's time to unsubscribe from some of those lists.
Whitelist us - Click on an email from us, click the meatball menu at the top of the email (three vertical dots that says "more" when you hover over it) and choose "Filter messages like this". It will bring up a box that autofills our email address in the "From" area; click "Create filter" and then check the box that says "Categorize as" and choose "Primary" from the list.
Turn off these tabs entirely - Click the gear at the top of the page and choose "See all settings," then click "Inbox" and uncheck the tabs you don't want it to sort email into. This will ensure that all emails wind up in your primary inbox. Turning off "Smart features and personalization" in the General settings tab will also disable these tabs.

A note about Crips for eSIMs for Gaza
If you have not yet made your donations and are planning to donate to Crips for eSims for Gaza, please be aware that their donation platform is Canadian and their default currency is CAD.
All bid amounts are in USD (and there is currently a fairly significant exchange rate between them) so please be sure you do the conversion and donate enough to meet your bid, and when you submit your receipts include a screenshot of the conversion rate you used. Thanks!

Where we stand with donations so far
We're almost caught up processing all of the donations that have come in so far, and we wanted to give you all a snapshot of where those donations are going.
So far, the organizations drawing the most donations (given as percentage of total donations) are:
Middle East Children's Alliance, with 10.3%
the Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights, with 9.7%
the Freedom to Read Foundation, with 9.0%
and Sherlock's Homes, with 8.5%
The organizations with the fewest donations so far (again, given as percentage of the total) are:
Fight for the Future Education Fund, with 0.3%
TransQueerPueblo, with 0.6%
There are also several organizations in the 2-2.3% range, including Brave Space Alliance, Bellingcat, the Environmental Integrity Project, and the Congo Leadership Initiative.
While we believe deeply in the work being done by every single organization on our list, we hope you'll consider sending some love (in the form of donations) to the groups that have gotten less support so far.
EDIT: if you'd like to make a donation just because, you can do so here! Please mark it as "on behalf of ROFL" (aka the Regiment of Fan Laborers.)

If you're a high bidder who hasn't heard from us...
...Please email us and let us know! We've got about half a dozen high bidders whose emails keep bouncing, even after we've spot-checked for typos or obvious variants.
If we cannot reach you/don't hear from you by the end of Wednesday, we will pass on your auction to the next-highest bidder!

Got a little leftover cash?

Maybe you lost some (or all?) of your bids, maybe some auctions didn't go as high as you'd planned for, maybe you didn't have time to place all the bids you wanted - many people find themselves with a little extra to donate after the auction. That's why we keep the Fan Crafts Bazaar open after the auctions close!
Come check out a wide variety of physical fanworks representing over 35 different fandoms (and many crafters who will make you something for any fandom you want):
3d decorations (5 crafters)
art supplies (3)
bookbinding (17)
cosplay-related (2)
fiber arts (13)
home goods (2)
jewelry (4)
merch (3)
other (1)
painting/drawing/prints (4)
sewing (6)
stickers/stationery (4)
Some are holding their own auctions (most of which will close on March 10 -- but be sure to double-check, some may end their auctions sooner!) Others are offering a set number of premade items... and when they're gone, they're gone!

We’re all feeling generous but please wait for emails!
Bidders:
Please do not send in donation receipts yet! You'll soon receive an email from us listing your high bids and the link to the donation proof form. If you don’t have a Google account you will need to email them to us but please wait and send it as a reply to this email!
In fact, it’s best if you wait to get our email before you donate at all, just to make sure our records match yours in terms of which auctions you won for how much, and which organizations your creators chose.
Creators:
We know that some of you are excited to offer gifts to your second bidders! As it mentions in the email you got last night, please wait and let us coordinate this, as we need to make sure we have accurate records of everything. We will email you in a couple of days asking if you want to extend a second chance offer, and if you do, we’ll email your bidder.
Both bidders and creators - Please remember not to put pressure in either direction when it comes to second chance offers! Not all creators have time/energy to extend them, and not all bidders can afford to accept them. This is one reason to let us handle all communication, so that nobody feels personally on the hook for something that they have not yet committed to.
We love the post-auction energy and we are SO HYPED to find out what our final total will be (all we know now is… it’s BIG), but as the auction grows it gets even more important for us to keep accurate records… and unfortunately it also takes longer for us to coax Google’s tools into generating everything we need. Thank you for your patience!
Find some more food for thought in this post while you wait...

ATTN HIGH BIDDERS: while you wait for your emails...
This is a great moment to review our list of supported nonprofits and consider which ones are most appealing to you! (Here is a post that collects the individual write-ups we did of each of those orgs.)
Some important notes:
Some creators will have selected a subset of organizations from this list, and you'll need to honor those choices.
There are also a few dozen auctions in which the creator has listed an outside organization in addition to the ones from our list. Be sure to follow the links from the creator's page to learn more about these orgs!
Our umbrella category this year is orgs that support vulnerable LGBT folks. We've chosen five exemplary organizations, and of course you're welcome to donate to them. But we also encourage you to investigate similar organizations in your own community, and to direct your donations there -- that's the goal and purpose of the umbrella category!

🪡 The golden needle tag is now live!
We know how hard it is to browse EVERY auction, especially with over 1600 on offer this year. As we enter the last 30 hours of the auction, we’re opening up the ’golden needle’ tag.
This features all auctions that are looking for their first bidder - that could be you!
So take a look at what’s on offer, and if you haven’t put your first bid down yet, now is the time to get some golden needles in our very large haystack.

FTH 2025 auctions are open for bidding!
Remember:
Bids placed before 8am EST on Feb 25 or after 8pm EST are NOT valid (please let us know if you see an early bid and we'll delete it)
The tag page is the easiest way to find auctions within your fandom. This post explains how to search multiple tags at once.
The auction-tracking spreadsheet we shared last year will not work for this year's auctions, but here is an updated version! Make your own copy of the '2025 FTH Watchlist Template' and replace the example auction info with the details of the offers you want to track. Copy and paste the formula that checks the auctions for bid data into as many rows as you need.
Unfortunately, notifications are NOT working for individual auctions this year, so please check those bid sheets regularly.
