"I know I should, I'm just... hesitant. I know I have trouble regulating my emotions, and can blow situations way out of proportion, but... he treats me like I'm overreacting all the time. Like I'm just being stupid and irrational and need to get over myself. I've been learning to trust myself again, and talking to him makes me feel like I'm losing that. But I keep thinking... maybe he's right? I honestly can't tell, and it's terrifying."

"You're not. I don't think you are. I think they just don't know how to work with us. Why don't you try spending some time with them? Get to know them yourself."

It feels like I am fighting them, I am a villain to them, and Hazelnut just sees me as an irrational child, and it's..." His fingers twitch. "It's hard to keep from believing that. But I didn't think I was being unreasonable..."

"You are not the bad guy here. I was trying to assure you that I'm okay before. It wasn't my intention to make you feel like I was fighting you. I just didn't want you to worry about me. But I don't consider you the bad guy, and I don't think anyone else does, either. I want to work with you to help look after me. You haven't hurt me. I can see that you're just protecting me. I'm not going to fight that."

"I'm just... I'm tired of hurting you. I'm tired of being the bad guy. I'm so sick of this. Wherever this goes, it will hurt, so I may as well do what I can to make you happy."

"I don't want to hurt you, dove. Never again. I will always put you first, forever. Okay? I'm not going to date him. If nothing else, you made it clear that was a hard no. I just have to know where the line is so I don't cross it."

"No, I'm... I think I really am just overreacting. Sorry. You can date him, I shouldn't have gotten in your way."

"You may as well date him, then. It seems like he's going to treat you the same either way, so why not?"

in decaf's defense, joshua did actively try to hide how much he was hurt, so he really just doesn't know what all haruto did to joshua.

"It being done away from me makes it worse, to be quite honest. He wanted to isolate you. He intentionally tried to turn you against me in particular. And if you were in a whole other universe, there would be absolutely nothing stopping him from doing it again. His job would already be half-done, in that case."

"Well, yeah, that's a good point. I had kinda figured the only reason anyone was hurt by that was because they were so mad about what he did to me, but I forget the two of you were more in contact. And me just... Keeping this private, away and in that universe, that won't be enough of a separation to keep you safe? If that's really the case, then I'll drop it. I really don't want to hurt you."
