I'm terrified for season 5 of SPOP. What am I going to do?

Okay, the hands though.
The difference in angles - Adora is standing, Catra isn’t. Catra’s hand is shaking, which could be emotion, or she could be hurt (or both). Adora reaches out to her, but stops just short so that Catra has to decide if she’s going to close the distance or not.
I’m here. I’ll help you. But only if you choose it.

at some point i gotta get around to writing a meta about how “it doesn’t matter what they do to us as long as we’re together" and “it doesn’t matter what they do as long as we’re together” don’t entirely mean the same thing and reflect a difference in how adora and catra see themselves and the world.

a little bonus follow-up to this, since a good few people were disappointed there wasn’t a kiss at the end ;)))

ok i’m sorry i’ve been trying not to think about it but i am thinking about it. specifically thinking about catra blinking a couple times, confused, one because scorpia is stunning, two because she just asked her to help her zip up her dress and i guarantee you she’s never been asked to do anything like that before. so she’s like “uh. sure.” and goes behind scorpia and before she really realizes just how close she’s going to have to get to her to do this she’s already there, her hands hovering over the small of scorpia’s back, and the same moment the closeness hits her, so does the sheer amount of intimacy that comes with this. they were both raised in the horde, it’s common knowledge amongst anyone with combative training that an attack from behind is the easiest way to take someone down, and yet here scorpia is, vulnerable not just in position but in that she’s fully exposed as well, trusting catra, asking her to zip up her dress from behind. it should be simple. it’s not.
and catra catches herself thinking about it too hard, huffs, and goes to zip her up thinking about how stupid she’s being. but then as her fingers grasp and she tugs up it occurs to her again how vulnerable a person’s back is, how sensitive your skin can be especially as low as scorpia’s dress cuts, and she doesn’t want to accidentally catch her skin in the zipper. it would be smarter to go slow, to brace her other hand on the fabric of her dress. so she does. it only takes a few seconds even still, but she sees a small hook above the zipper, likely there to secure the dress further. scorpia turns her head back, starts to say “oh there’s a-“ only to be cut off with “i see it.” catra secures the hook, just on the inner hem, feels her fingers brush against scorpia’s bare skin, and is she breathing a little too hard? can scorpia feel her breath on her back? did she just imagine scorpia’s own breath hitching at the brief contact of catra’s hands that could so easily wound, and her own back that she so naively trusts her with? her hands linger.
scorpia stutters out a thank you, and catra steps away from her, coming back around to her front but she stays turned away for a moment. her face is warm, warmer than it should be over something so small. she’s surprised at how much and how fast her hands miss the brief pressure of scorpia’s skin against hers. well, if they’re going to this thing together to raise some hell, they might as well try and sell it. catra turns back to scorpia, hand held out, grinning. tries not to sigh when scorpia smiles back and gives over her hand.

You ever hear a song from years ago and think “Wow that’s such a Catra song”? Such is the case with “I Will Not Bow” by Breaking Benjamin
