Oh I have a stupid headcanon that I don't think I can fit in anywhere!

I think in their weird rich-kid childhood, both Dante and Vergil were taught to play violin and piano. Vergil had better precision but Dante had better expression. When they were made to play together, Vergil played accompaniment on piano while Dante got to play the melody on violin.

Vergil was better technically on both instruments but mechanical about it. Dante never practiced but seemed to be able to pick things up by ear. A flawless little mimic the first time he heard anything, before he took it and made it personal.

He never took it seriously and Vergil resented that, that Dante could be good at something and not care about it and also that something Vergil very much wanted to be good at eluded him because of something that Dante had but that he lacked:

An unwillingness to make mistakes, an uncertainty about expressing himself, a devotion to the metronome.

I'm sorry but I absolutely believe that Dante's shop just happens to have a pizza place across the street and it is absolutely a depression meal situation for the wahoo pizza man and at some point, when Dante comes back from hell to visit, Nero's gonna sardonically suggest that maybe they should get pizza for dinner to celebrate and Dante's gonna be like omg no I hate pizza, don't you guys have any good indian? I keep trying to describe turmeric to the demon cooks in hell but they hear 'yellow spice' and just add more sulfur, im dying for a kebab

hey Tumblr nation...! was trying to edit and I noticed that despite how irritated Vergil was with Dante all the time, he was his absolute first concern in the attack, he said Dante's name before his mamas and which could mean nothing to you guys but to me this is everything... like he REALLY CARED about Dante. and to be reminded of the events of the games after realising this one small detail makes things all o the more heartbreaking to me... sons of sparda you make me sick

i know The People want more V content, but i think unfortunately i am, in my heart, a Dante Girlie (gender neutral; tm). so i'm like, yeah, ok, we're into vergil bc he is part of dante's whole deal; we're into nero because he's part of dante's whole deal, but v is part of vergil's deal and i'm....just not that into vergil. like i love him, but it's harder for me to put my whole pussy into fleshing him out, you feel. i think you need a real Vergil Girlie (gender neutral; tm) to really dig into v.

I actually love how almost every male female relationship in dmc is platonic. Dante and Lady’s relationship is built off of respect and it could’ve been a silly love interest sure but I think that the creator stating they’ve never done anything makes their relationship so much deeper. Dante doesn’t just like Lady he loves her, he respects her, understands her, and values her talent. I think it’s so beautiful that they have such a deep unspoken understanding, and love for one another that doesn’t manifest itself into romance like most games of this nature would.

Same goes for Dante and Trish. Dante obviously wouldn’t get with her because of her connection to Mundus and her resemblance to his mother. This makes sense, but also I like to think them not getting together is another display of a deeper form of love. Trish learns to respect Dante, and love him for his kindness towards her despite betraying him. He was the first person to ever show her kindness no matter what she did to him. I also like to think that Dante doesn’t just care for her because he sees his mom. It used to be like that fs but later on he started seeing her for the person she wanted to be, and he truly loves who that person is.

And we can’t forget Nico, and Nero!! My shaylas fr. Nero is such a good friend to Nico, and Nico is so good for Nero. They balance each other out so well as they both can relate to having a shit dad (like most characters in this game lmao), and can provide different coping strategies for one another. I think Nero being so family oriented is also really good for Nico as it gives them both a sense of home. Also they’re just so funny together lol.

All the main men in these games respect their female counterparts so much that it would be weird for them to get with each other. I really like it that way we don’t have enough straight platonic relationships where the two involved love each other so deeply without there being romantic tension.
