I know what ANET is trying to do w/ making shorter expacs - the living world seasons were originally released for free and in this economy that's not sustainable anymore - but man I wish they'd do living world seasons again to touch on smaller storylines and little lose threads. Just charge like $10-$15 for them, right? I just KNOW we aren't going to get to see, like, the human royalty drama w/ Jennah now interested in Logan but he's actually fucking Ellen Kiel in this next expac but I want it so bad shitty political romance drama is my THING etc.

More GW2 art!! Let me introduce you to professor Yakkey!

I've only ever really focused on Enn (my main, reaper) and I decided I wanted to try another class properly, so I went for engineer cuz it sounded hard but fun cuz, you know, guns. So I made my lil asura (because of course he's an asura) and started playing around.

And then my mind started wondering, adding him to Enn's story, headcanoning a bunch of stuff and then I feel in love with my new lil angsty rat. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH AAAAAAAAAAA

I'm only just finishing LWS2 with him, so there's still a lot to do story-wise for him, but it's so very fun!

I keep sketching him everywhere so I wanted to make a proper drawing of him and when I was taking screenshots for references he looked so angry and funny that I used that as a base for this drawing lmao.

Anyway quick, short intro for anyone who cares: Yakkey specializes in biomedical engineering and, even more specifically, in making prosthetics look as close to the limbs they're replacing as possible.

He's a doctor, but people call him professor because that's what his krewe calls him. It kind of started as a joke, but it just stuck.

He's a Magister for the Durmand Priory and could potentially go even higher, but he isn't as interested in that at the moment.

And some small headcanons:

He got the scar on his face from a rogue golem back in college.

His eyes are sensitive, so he wears glasses most of the time.

His eyes also look strange so people tend to stare, which he hates, so, again, glasses.

He's gay af and has a situationship 👀 going on with Canach. Why? Because I say so.

guild wars is an insane setting because it's a normal fantasy world but also the closest elf analogue that exists is humanity. what people would at first glance assume to be ""elves"" are actually just vaguely humanoid plant monsters made to serve an unbelievably ancient god-dragon that's also a living jungle and also all of the plant people are at maximum 25 years old because their entire species are basically collectively babies in terms of how long they've existed in-universe. also the orcs are giant cat people. the gnomes are rats. the dwarves are normal but also they're steadily going extinct and also all living rock people now. nobody even knows what a horse is

The eastern zodiac is comprised of 11 real life animals and 1 mythical creature, the dragon.

In the MMO Guild Wars 2, for the Lunar New Year festival they use the same zodiac. However, dragons are an actual real creature that everyone knows about. But Guild Wars 2's lunar new year also features a zodiac of 11 real life animals and 1 mythical creature... the horse.

Because in GW2, horses don't exist.

So this is the f!asura version of that line and honestly it's just. SO cute. Like I love the kind of dry delivery Steve Staley has for the m!asura but Colleen really did good with that one.

So in Thunderhead Keep there's that renown heart to raise the Pact's resolve, boost morale, etc. Behind the large open area there's a Vigil Tactician who needs water. If you walk up to him and give him water with an asura, he has a unique voice line.

However, he doesn't have a unique voice line for ANY other race that fulfills his request. Not even humans. He ONLY flirts with an asura commander, m or f.

This is baffling and hilarious. Dude clearly has a type...

hello guild wars 2 players. i want to play a game.

in front of you is a meta event where there's a less than ideal amount of players to complete it.

if, during the meta event, you complain about other player's DPS (damage per strike), anyone that might be AFK, or claim the meta is going to fail in the map chat: PVP against you and only you will be enabled. i will personally drop from the sky as a Power Reaper (extremely buff necromancer) and beat the shit out of you.

why? it's simple: if you are complaining in map chat about any of the above, YOU AREN'T DOING ANY DPS. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. HIT THE GODDAMN ENEMY.

you have fifteen minutes until the meta ends. the clock is ticking...
