Febuwhump 2024 Day 29

Not Allowed To Die

"It is getting dark out, we can go shortly," Christa gathered their weapons and Kier. "How bad is that gunshot?"

"It's in her wing. She'll be downed for this escape." Christoph picked her up and placed the girl on his back.

"What... what about..." Kira whimpered.

"Insanity has been limiting his powers on purpose. He hasn't tried breaking out yet. Hopefully is he hears us he'll get Sachi out as well."

"How... did you know?"

"I sent him after you didn't come back. Pittoo and her family have encountered these guys before so we discussed on what to do beforehand." She nodded as Christa guided Kier out. "Alright let's get moving quickly, Kira where was the door?" She weakly pointed the way. They moved towards the door. "Once we reach the door, don't stop! We're getting out of here."

They saw the door and waited to leave the forest. "Okay, now. Everyone ready?"

"Yeah, we can do this right?" Anna looked back at Christoph.

"We're sure going to try," Christa reassured her. "Alright let's get going. Don't die on us, Kira."

"You're not allowed to die on me, Kira." Anna hugged her tightly. The girl nodded and they all turned towards the door. They sprinted towards it, no one in sight. Anthony slammed into the door and pushed it open. The group entered and quickly made it inside. Kier led the group as they looked for an exit.

"Hey! What are you doing here?!"

"Run!" Christoph bolted down the hallway, the group following behind. Sirens wailed throughout the facility. Kira clutched his chest tightly as they kept running.

"Sounds like they didn't expect us to live," Anna said as they lurked around a corner. "You said Insanity was here too? How can we get to him? Or get him to..." A loud boom came from down the hallway.

"It's okay Sachi, I've got you."

"Insanity! Over here!" The young god quickly went over to the group. "You okay?"

"About as best as I can be Christoph. Alright, let's get out of... here... who are you guys?"

"Long story short, these guys are mine, Kira's, and Anna's selves from a different universe, where we are the opposite gender."

"Alright then, let's go home."

Febuwhump 2024 Day 28

"No... Not Like This"

"We're back, Kier is injured but okay," Anna guided Christa inside. "How's Kira doing?"

"She's been resting, we did all we could with no resources." Christoph rubbed the girl's head.

"That's good, so how are we going to get out of this Christoph?"

"I have no idea. We're limited on scouting capabilities, not to mention very little on weapons and armor as well. We're very weak in this position."

"We do have gun power now, I've been taking out all the bullets from the corpses and we have a few good shots." Anthony handed Christa one of the guns. She placed Kier next to Kira and took the firearm.

"Hm, we could press our luck and push towards the door. If either of the angels gets healthy enough to fly, we can scout out the exit and push towards it." Christa said as she fiddled with a knife.

"If the dome simulates day cycles we can go under the cover of night too. If not we'll have to stealth our way out," Christoph added. "Kira? Do you think you can fly soon?" The girl weakly pulled herself up.

"Kira don't push yourself, please," Anna touched her arm. "We can wait." Kira whimpered but stood up.

"Kier, rest up. If something happens to Kira we'll have to send you out to find her," He nodded and stayed put. "Be careful out there." Anthony stayed close to the group. Kira nodded and quickly flew out.

Kira glided just above the trees. She spotted the door and quickly turned back. The girl flew quickly before a gunshot rang through the dome. She screamed in pain as she kept flying. No... not... not like this.

"There she is!" Anna yelled as Kira fell to the ground. "Shit, Christoph!" He picked her up and carried her back inside.

"I... found it..."

Febuwhump 2024 Day 27

Left For Dead

Kier ran off away from Kira. A few hunters broke off and gave chase to him. The boy ran further away from the group before turning around and striking at the pursuers. He clawed at them as they tried to fight back. Kier quickly killed the group, his body littered with gashes and cuts from their daggers. He pulled himself against a tree before lying down. A few hunters glanced at the boy, before turning and leaving him. Blood trickled from his mouth as his body grew weaker. He stayed put for a long time before a voice was heard in the distance.

"There he is!" Kier whimpered as the voice drew closer. "Kier it's okay! It's me, Anna!" He looked up at her and relaxed.

"We need to get him back now. Who knows how long he's been out here in this state." Christa picked up the angel and sprinted back the way they came. "Don't worry, we'll get out of here."

Febuwhump 2024 Day 26

"Help Them"

The group was brought out to a large dome. The two angels stayed silent as the rest struggled against their captors. "Alright, you guys have ten minutes to get out there and defend yourselves. We'll be sending hunters out for you and you'll need to reach these doors to secure your safety. You can do anything to get here, by any means necessary. This does include killing. Good luck." The group quickly got up and ran deeper into the trees.

"I think we're far enough in, let's rest for now." Christa rallied the group together.

"So, do we have a game plan?" Anna asked.

"Not even close," Anthony panted. "The hell are we supposed to do anyway? We lost track of the door." Kira's feathers ruffled. She looked around frantically. Kier followed suit. He guided the group into a large hole at the base of a tree. Kira moved away from the group, slowly. Her body tensed as a loud bang rang through the dome. The girl's eyes widened as something flew past her cheek and struck the tree behind her.

"There she is!" The girl ran out of the group's sight, Kier running in the opposite direction.

"Wait! Kira! Kier!" Anna yelled!

"Shh!" Christa covered Anna's mouth. "Wait." The group stayed silent. Gunshots echoed through the air at random intervals. They stayed still for what felt like hours until footsteps could be heard drawing closer. Kira ran back into their line of sight. Blood trickling down from small cuts scattered across her body. The girl roared as hunters drew closer to her from all directions. The hunters swung at her with knives, Kira biting back and clawing at their bodies. They fell back, some falling to the ground dead. She whined as they steadily hit her more and more.

"I have to help them."

"Wait! Anthony!" Christoph jumped up after him. Anthony grabbed one of the dead hunter's knives and lunged into the fight. Christoph quickly caught up and fending the swarm off. The girl aided the two and finished the hunters off.

Kira collapsed onto the ground as the final pursuer was slayed. Her hands and mouth were covered in blood. Anthony leaned down and held her tightly. "It's alright, it's over."

"Kira, where did Kier go?" Christoph kneeled down next to her and rubbed her cheek. The girl weakly pointed away from them.

"We'll go look for him," Anna moved over to the group. "You guys take Kira inside the tree and rest up. We'll bring him back and go from there." Christoph nodded and responded.

"Alright, good luck out there."

Febuwhump 2024 Day 25

Waterboarding

"Master?!" Sachi shot up and moved towards Insanity.

"She can speak, hurry up!" She whimpered as hands grabbed her arms and held her still. The girl stopped in her tracks.

"Sachi, it's okay I promise. You can talk to them." He watched her warily. He struggled against his bindings as they strapped him to a table.

"It will be, as long as you cooperate," Sachi stood frozen in place. "If you answer our questions, we won't have to torture him."

"What... what do you want?"

"What are you exactly Sachi?"

"I... I don't know..." Her wings twitched as the table leaned down. Insanity's feet moving upward. "I don't know, I don't remember."

"You don't remember? Well, what happened then to make you forget?"

"I, um. My... my trainer... he... he hurt me."

"Hurt you how?"

"I don't... I don't remember."

"I see," they placed a cloth over the god's head.

"I'm telling the truth! My trainer would hurt me if I spoke without his permission."

"I see. Exactly how long ago was this?"

"I... I don't remember. It was... a long time ago."

"Mm, Sachi, you have wings, a tail, ears, and two different colored eyes. Were you born with them?"

"Mm," Her eyes widened as they dripped water onto the cloth. "S... some of them."

"Some of them? Explain."

"I..." Her breathing grew rapidly as more water was being poured. "I wasn't born with my green eye."

"Oh?"

"It turned green, after... after something happened. I don't remember." The water stopped and Sachi kept her head low.

"Hm, alright then. Thank you for your cooperation."

Febuwhump 2024 Day 24

"I'm Doing This Because I Care About You"

      "Where is she?" Anna frantically looked around.

      "She's here, that's all I know. There's so many doors." Christoph pulled out a small remote. "This should blink when her tracker is near." He moved it around as they sprinted through the halls.

      "Have we gotten any closer?"

      "Wait," he stopped in front of a door. "Yeah, she's in here." Anna ran towards the door, her hands pressing against the door. "Anna, quick in here!" Christoph pushed her into a closet. They peeked through the opening between the door and the wall. A masked figure swiped a card over black panel on the wall. They pushed the door and walked in. After a few minutes they exited and left. Christoph silently ran out and caught the door before it closed. "Come on Anna," he held the door open. "Hurry." She ran in after him, Christoph closing the door behind them. He slipped a card over the door latch before carefully backing away.

      "Kira!" Anna ran over and held the girl tightly. "You're okay right?"

      "Yeah, I am... but, why are you here? You shouldn't be here. It's dangerous."

      "Hey, I'm doing this because I care about you. You know I'd risk hell to see you safe and happy." Kira blushed and quickly pecked her cheek because turning away.

      "Thank you, we need to get out now."

      "Who's this with you?"

      "Oh, this is Kier, a... different version of me," The dark winged angel waved at the two girls. "He... has people like you. Just gender swapped."

      "Oh? So are you waiting for the male version of me?" The door on the opposite side of the room opened up. "Speak of the devil."

      "Kier!" Another boy ran in and hugged him. "You're okay right?" He nodded.

      "Yeah I am," he responded.

      "Good, who are these guys?"

      "Oh, um... Anthony, this is Kira and..."

      "Anna, nice to meet you," She waved back. "So you're me, but a boy? Strange."

     "Strange indeed." Christoph moved behind the two girls, watching quietly. He turned as a noise came from the door.

     "Shit, we need to go!"

     "No, you're not." A voice responded from the door as the card was slipped out from behind the door. Christoph ran towards it, but door locked before he could grab it. He banged on the door. Banging could be heard from the other door as a woman slammed her fist on it.

      "Shit, shit! Anthony, is Kier okay?"

      "Yeah, he's safe."

      "Ugh, alright. I guess we'll have to wait here. Oh," she glanced over at Kira, Anna, and Christoph. "My apologies, name's Christa."   

      "Christoph, well... I guess we wait now."

      "Yeah, I guess so."

Febuwhump 2024 Day 23

Presumed Dead

      "Hey, hey!" One of the masked figures shook Insanity awake. "Wake up. We want to talk to you."

      "Shit! What do you want?!" He moved away from them.

      "That girl that was with you, what is she?"

      "Where is she? She's not hurt right?"

      "I'll disclose this information if you cooperate."

      "Mm, she's an immortal being. That's about all I know."

      "I see, what's her name? How old is she?"

      "Sachi, as for her age, I have absolutely no idea."

      "I see. Well then, she's..."

      "She's what?!"

      "We don't know her condition. She's unresponsive and refuses to do anything. She doesn't fight back and is very still."

      "LET ME SEE HER NOW!" The hairs on his neck raised and power concentrated towards his hands.

       "Not an option right now. We'll see what we can do to save her, then we'll decide."

      "NO! I don't care! You will let me see her now!"

      "Hey! Stop! I promise, we'll do everything we can." Insanity grit his teeth.

     "You better, or else."

Febuwhump 2024 Day 22

"You Weren't Meant to Be There"

      Christoph lurked around a building. He watched the strange people enter the door. He waited for the last one to enter before walking up to the door. Christoph placed a hand over the door handle, body tensing. He looked over his shoulder and back at the door. He pushed the door open and entered silently. His eyes wandered all over the room.

      "Shit!" A loud thud came from behind him. Christoph turned around, quickly.

      "Anna?! What are you doing here?! I told you to stay at the castle."

      "You said you were gonna investigate. If Kira is in here, I want to help."

      "But, you're not supposed to be here. For good reason too. This place is dangerous. If anything, I bet Kira would agree and say you weren't meant to be here."

      "Yeah, I know. But I can't stand seeing her hurt. So I want to help."

     "Mm, fine. Let's just make this quick."

Febuwhump 2024 Day 21

Unresponsive

      "Okay, they're on their way," I91 looked back at Kira. "I'll be standing behind you, but you'll need to approach by yourself." The girl nodded as I91 backed up towards the door. Kira turned to the door on the opposite wall. She perked up as the door opened as two new people entered the room. Another person dressed like I91 entered first, pulling a leash behind them.

     "It's okay, they're not going to hurt you." Her brows raised as they walked in on a fours. They locked eyes and stared at each other. Kira backed away and hid behind I91's legs. She looked at the mysterious person with shock.

      "They look like you, both of you have black wings." Kira couldn't move. "Strange world isn't it? From what I've heard, they act similarly to you." She kept her eyes on the presumed angel. I91 tapped the girl's shoulder. "You okay, Kira?"

      "Kier? Are you okay?" They didn't move and kept staring at Kira.

      "Is that their name? Kier?"

      "Mmhm, he's a strange little one."

      "I see, well, what now? They don't seem too responsive right now."

      "They told me to leave him in the same room as her."

      "Alright, I'll trust your intuition," I91 touched Kira's shoulder. "Okay well, I'll be back soon." The masked figures left leaving the two winged people alone.

Febuwhump 2024 Day 20

Truth Serum

      "Ah, shit!" Insanity jumped as a needle pricked his neck. "What was that for?"

      "Just a little something to help us out. Now, where do you come from?"

      "What do you mean?"

      "Do you originate from this dimension?"

      "No?" His eyes widened. "The hell did you do to me?"

      "Unimportant, now what are you?"

      "What do you mean?! Why would I tell you I'm a god?" He backed away frantically.

      "Good, very good. You said you're not from here, where are you staying exactly?" Insanity stayed quiet, sweat dripping down his brow. "You know I will force you to answer, just talk and those two girls you know won't be put in any danger."

      "I'm staying in a castle. With a bunch of other people."

      "Who's the owner?"

      "This guy named Christoph." They stayed silent for a moment before responding.

       "I see, I'll be back for more questions later."

Febuwhump 2024 Day 19

"Please Don't"

      Kira followed I91 into the room. They rubbed her head and sat down next to the girl. She whined a little as I91 started bandaging her wounds. "I know, I'm sorry." They perked up and tapped something on the side of their mask. "Subject is in the room you requested. Oh, I see. You're... not going to... right? Please Sci52, she's just a little girl. Please don't do this. I don't think we should... I know, I shouldn't get attached, she's just... different. Alright, I'll wait for them." They sighed before returning their attention to Kira.

     "They're... not going to..."

     "Oh, no honey. They're not going to kill you. I just talked them into doing something that wouldn't hurt you. Well, at least physically."

      "I see," she watched I91 treat her wounds. "What are they going to do?"

      "I don't know. But I'll be here with you, okay?"

      "Mm, okay."

Febuwhump 2024 Day 18

Too Weak to Move

      "Alright, lock them in for the night, I91 take the girl to room 056. She's scheduled for a new experiment tomorrow."

      "Wait, no! You can't do this to her!" Kira started looking around frantically. "Kira run!"

     "Wait! K... Kira, right?" The girl's eyes darted to the voice. I91 approached her warily. "Hey, we're not going to hurt you. I promise. Please, I want to keep you safe." Kira whimpered and took a step back. "Shh, okay," I91 moved closer. "It's okay, I promise."

     "Don't listen to them Kira!" Insanity fought against the restraints. Before he could move, a dart struck his neck. "Mgh! Kira! We'll... get... out..." She looked over to find his body growing limp.

      "Shh," a hand was placed on her head. "It's okay." Kira looked up to find I91's gloved hand touching her.

     "Give... give her back! She doesn't belong to you!" Insanity fell to his side. He fought against the drug.

     "I091, proceed to take her to room 056."

     "You're... you're not going to hurt her, right?"

     "Don't get attached, but if it makes you feel any better, as long as she cooperates there will be no need to harm her." Kira looked up at the figure.

     "Okay, let's go then." I91 guided her out of the room. She looked back at Insanity. "He'll be okay, I promise. We need to get you patched up."

Febuwhump 2024 Day 17

Hostage Situation

     "Mm," Insanity pulled himself awake. "Huh?" He strained to move. "What the..."

     "Don't move, you're completely restrained." The voice came from around the room.

     "Who are you? What do you want from me?" he yelled.

     "None of your concern, now from what we've gathered you came here for one of our subjects. Is that correct?"

     "Why should I tell you?"

     "It'll make this cooperation easier if you just answer us."

     "I'll never tell you."

     "Fine, bring her in." He looked towards the door as it opened up. The room glowed dimly as a few people walked in.

     "K... Kira?! You're actually here?!"

     "Insanity? Wh... where's Sachi? Why are you here?"

     "I came to take you home."

     "But, you... you didn't have to do that. I... I could have..."

     "I know, but Anna is getting worried sick."

     "I know, I'm sorry... mm!" A cold blade touched her throat.

     "We're not normally this crude, but it's the only way to get you two to listen. Now, the other girl is fine. She's watching from a different location. I need you to cooperate new guy."

      "And if I don't?" Kira whimpered as the blade caressed her cheek.

     "Retorting to such low measures is not our ideal, but this will do. If you don't cooperate, the girl gets cut. Easy as that."

     "Rgh, fine. What do you want?"

     "Answer me this, are you here for this girl?"

     "Mgh..."

     "Answer me." The girl whined as the knife moved across her shoulder.

     "Yes! Yes, I am."

     "Good."

     "Is that all?"

     "Of course not. We're just getting started."

Febuwhump 2024 Day 16

Came Back Wrong

      Insanity ran quickly down the hallways. Sachi sprinted next to him. "Just keep running, we'll find a way out." The hallways glowed red as sirens wailed. An announcement kept repeating 'Intruder, dangerous, do not approach!'

      He turned down another corridor, his chest burning. "There, it's an exit," He bolted for the door, holding Sachi's hand tightly. "We're almost there!" Sachi cried out and her hand slipped from his.

     "Master!" Insanity turned to find her pinned other the ground. He reached out for her only to be thrown to the ground. "Master!"

     "Shit," the young god tried to push the body off himself. "Sachi!"

     "Came back the wrong way." He felt a cold needle prick his neck. "We're not going to hurt you."

     "N... no... you can't... s... Sachi..." his body went limp and he fell into unconsciousness.

Febuwhump 2024 Day 15

"Who Did This to You?"

Kiran closed the bedroom door behind her. She turned, her ears twitched. "Whoever is in here show yourself," her eyes locked onto a tall figure cloaked in black. "If you have something to say, say it. I'm not afraid." The figure rushed at her, striking her stomach. Kiran gasped for air but stayed on her feet. "Ah," she wheezed. "Shit..." The archangel summoned a dagger of light into her hand. She swung back at the figure, cutting their coat. "I'm not going down that easy."

Nick ran to the door. A group of servants surrounded the door. "What's going on? Is she hurt?"

"Something has been going on in there, we haven't entered yet."

"Why?"

"She's not alone in there." He banged on the door. "Kiran!" The boy frantically opened the door. He found the archangel on her knees. Light flowed out of her body from small cuts. "Kiran what happened? Who did this to you?!"

"Heh, some bastard thought he could take down an archangel, alone too. He put up a good fight that's for sure." She clutched her chest. The light dagger faded away as she fell into his arms.

"Shit shit! Don't leave me!" He held her tightly.

"Don't worry honey, I'm just weakened. I'll be better in no time, I promise."

"Good," he picked Kiran up and placed her on the bed. "I'll be back, I'm going to get Alois."

"I'll wait for you to return."

Febuwhump 2024 Day 14

Blood Stained Tiles

      Insanity snuck through the halls, Sachi following behind him. They downed themselves in black coats and kept lurking through the building. "Kira's tracker said she was in this building. We'll just have to find the room she's in."

     "Hey! You're not supposed to be in here!"

     "Sachi run!" He grabbed her hand and bolted down the hallway. She picked up the pace and ran next to him. They ran down the twisting corridors Insanity pulling her through a door. "In here!" Once she was inside, he slammed the door behind him. He frantically locked it and turned around. The dim blue lights illuminated the room. The young god quickly pulled out his console, a blue glowing cube. Insanity placed his hand on the top and holographic panels flew out around him. "Okay so, she's here alright. But that's it, the signal from the tracker gets fuzzy."

      "Wh... what is this place, master?"

      "I have no idea," he scanned through different panels. "Some research facility it looks like." He jumped as banging came from the door. "Shit, Sachi... I need you to hide."

      "What? Why master?"

      "Things are going to get a little chaotic and I don't want you to get hurt." He guided her into a standing cabinet. "Stay here okay, don't come out till I say so, okay?"

      "Yes, master."

      "Good girl," he closed the cabinet door. She peeked from behind the door. Insanity put the console away and backed away from the door. There was a loud crash and lots of movement.

      "Hey! What are you doing here?!"

      "What's it to you?" A long blue glowing blade formed from his fists. He swung at the people in front of him. They went down instantly. Sachi tried to keep watching, but Insanity kept moving in and out of her vision. More people kept flooding into the room. There were lots of screams and blood. Insanity fought for what feels like forever till the surge of people finally stopped. He took a deep breath and moved towards the cabinet. Both of his fists glowed blue with long blades of energy coming from them. "Sachi, you can come out now."

     Sachi gently pushed the door open. Her eyes widened at the sight. Blood was everywhere. The tiles were stained red, walls splattered with blood, and the young god's face had patches of blood covering his face. He retracted one of his blades and held his hand out for her. "It's okay, we're going to get out of here soon." She ran into his arms and silently hugged him. "We'll get out, I promise."
