I’m not really sure why, but I absolutely love the sides of my canvases. Maybe it’s because it displays some of the underlying thought behind the piece. The backgrounds of works of art are for sure underappreciated. Even if they aren’t “important” in the work, they are the beginning. They have effect on the feeling of the rest of the work – for mine, anyway. They help determine what the rest will be, either in the colour theory that will affect the tone of the piece or even sometimes the subject matter. If you’ve got the wrong background, the subject won’t work right. It won’t read right. Maybe that’s why I love the sides so much. Who knows!

You know, I’m a season and a half into watching Danny Phantom and I’m just starting to realise how sad it is that Danny has a secret identity.
Here’s the thing, all the villains know who he is. They know where he lives, and who is family and friends are. And you know what? I can’t remember Danny ever freaking out about that. He just accepted that his enemies had this information and could use it against him.
Danny doesn’t care that his enemies know who he is, but he’s terrified of the idea of the people he loves knowing. His greatest fear isn’t his enemies coming after him in his own home, it’s just the idea that these people - these people that he’s willing to put his life at risk to protect on a daily basis - wouldn’t be able to love him anymore if they knew what he was. I think that may be the saddest superhero story I’ve ever heard.

you can rest easy knowing hedwig was well looked after in the afterlife; it was confusing and terrifying and sad at first but a little while after arriving she felt a light weight on her head and looked up to find her boy, harry potter, staring warmly down at her and smoothing out her feathers, just like he always did
except… he had hazel eyes? and he looked a bit older than hedwig remembered, and who was that red-haired woman with him?
hedwig is confused again. but harry is here, and all is well, so she tucks her head under her wing and falls fast asleep.
