This technique is similar to that of artist Bob Ross. Bob Ross’ technique is based around avoiding the need for fussing over each and every detail in the painting. He occasionally breaks out the thin brush for a few accents at the end, but it’s all about using the physical properties of the paint to create the physical effects organically.
Watching him do mountains is a great example. The texture kinda just falls out of the knife.
