PART I: The Party || Chapter 4: Black and Green

Chapter Summary: A mysterious aasimar joins the party after Orcington is slain and they meet a mage researching the dragon.

The combatants wasted no time in going all out on each other. The violent swinging of both axe and sword looked more like flashes of colour than objects moving, though neither was wielded with much finesse. Every strike had the precision of that of a hunter to prey and every blow could only be described as brutal. 

While both Althea and Orcington were competent fighters, it was clear who had the upper hand from the start. Althea struck with grace and almost all of the orc’s counter attacks were parried easily, whilst Orcington struggled to land a hard blow against her armour. It was almost saddening to watch. Almost.

PART I: The Party || Chapter 3: Zachariah

Chapter Summary: Zachariah joins the party, Orcington starts a tavern fight, Len meets an assassin and Althea challenges Orcington to a duel.

The next few days were spent travelling, supposedly following the trail of the dragon. It went fairly uninterrupted with each party member entertaining the others through various means - Jared with music, Len with random stories of his life and Orcington with jokes, tea and crumpets. Althea reacted to each form of entertainment with either indifference or dulled amusement, but never chose to participate herself. The others never questioned why - Len felt that the others were probably as intimidated by her as he was.

Once a week had passed, the party came across a small grove that appeared to neighbour a village. A brief sigh of relief escaped Len - he always enjoyed it when his travels brought him to more civilisation, though normally that was because it meant new people to scam. This time it brought slight unease for… reasons his mind refused to disclose to him. Focusing on the fact they were no longer walking on an endless forest path seemed like a good idea.

Chapter Summary: Meeting the party.

Some hours passed before Len deemed it safe enough to emerge from behind the stage. Nobody would search for him that long, and while, yes, he wouldn’t be able to scam unsuspecting folk for lunch money, it wasn’t a bother. Most nights were spent with an empty stomach due to forgotten meals anyway.

A quick glance around told him all that he needed to know; A crowd was starting to gather in the area and he could only assume an either obscure or popular band was using music to keep the audience entertained while they waited. To put an extensive list of observations short, Jared’s performance would be happening soon.

PART I: The Party || Chapter 1: 5 Gold

Part Summary: Lennardis Silver is a rather young fellow that lives his days wandering the continent with his talking cat by his side. He follows a general routine of walk, sleep, scam, leave, repeat in the next town. That is until he meets a group of ‘adventurers’ hunting down a dragon.

He’d never guess that “hunt down a dragon” translated to “join the largest criminal organisation in the world and kill a few dragons.”

Chapter Summary: Selling a stick, talking to a cat, fantasizing about the moon and preparing for a concert.

A stick with some bark shaved off. Five gold for that? That sounded reasonable. Sure, it was a bit much for a twig, but it was what the twig did that really sealed the deal for random stranger number 24, or Darek, as he called himself.
