If anyone knows about wanting impossible things, knows the pain of wanting to be loved by someone who will never reciprocate, it's Vlad. And that's the irony of it; the only one who truly understands Dani's torment is the rotten-to-the-core cause of it, and he doesn't even know he's the object of his unwanted child's all too familiar obsession.

Cold indifference. Dani almost wishes Vlad would viciously hate her instead, just so he would care about her existence. She wishes that she could be the indifferent one, that she could go a single day without thinking about a family and a father she'll never have. Or that her hatred for him would hurt him, even a little. Or that her hatred would stop feeling so much like love.

(another snippet in the cold hands continuity, a slow burn cheese melt reconciliation scenario in which a lost Dani cares too much and a tired Vlad stops caring about anything altogether)

Oh my god! They're so adorable! And Val's gorgeous hair and Danny's lil fangies! I can't, this is so cute!

Fr though, I love the way you coloured them, and how expressive they are, including the lineart. I love how the lines get all squiggly in places and sharp in other, it scratches my brain because it isn't so smooth and sharp like other art styles. I guess what I mean to say is that I love your shapes and the expressive way you do lineart. •^•

It's been a while since I painted ghost king Danny. I went with the aurora borealis crown this time. Also more animation experimentation with 2d and 3d stuff.

I struggled with the background a bit. Below is an alternative version, I can't decide what looks better.

A friend recently brought to my attention that Something's Wrong With Danny Fenton is now on the first page of DP fics when sorted by kudos (excluding crossovers) on AO3.

I'm genuinely so floored and SO SO grateful to everyone that has read and left kudos on SWWDF!

When I started it that year for Invisobang I never would've guessed that it would do as well as it's done. I worked so hard and I wrote something that I'm tremendously proud of. I'm happy that it's resonated with so many people. It was a lot of work to write and don't even get me started on the editing.

I will be eternally grateful to @kkachis for her skill and dedication as an editor - not only did she tackle that fuckin' thing, but she did so while remaining subjective and unafraid to tell me when the style was working and when I needed to reign it in. We both learned so much over those 3 months, and we continue to learn from eachother to this day.

To celebrate, and in honor of SWWDF, I want to show a little hint of something I've started working on to share with everyone.

When I started SWWDF, the thing that terrified me the most is that I knew I wanted to swing for the fences stylistically. I wanted to write it the way I would something that I was going to submit to a literary journal for publishing. I did this full well knowing that it may be a style that turned people away at the door. It's not for everyone and that's okay! Little did I know how many people would love it 😅

I struggled a lot in the beginning to find a balance between narrative fiction and my voice as a literary fiction writer. I had a low level but near constant anxiety that the style was "trying too hard".

My struggle and fears in 2021 is what's inspiring me to write an essay of sorts on this topic. If I could help or inspire other writers to play with style when it comes to fanfiction then that would make me pretty happy!

Anyway! Thank you again for this achievement!

Also! Let me know/send me an ask if any of you have specific questions you'd like me to address in the guide/essay about how I use/d style in fanfiction. Any questions will give me a better idea of what to narrow down on and cover.

obsessed with how in Danny Phantom

when the network (i presume) went to the show's writing staff and said, "love the show, but the kid's a superhero, give him a logo, we need a logo"

they clearly thought. but uhhh chief his super hero costume is the outfit he died in. we can't change it.

but they *had* to change it.

and instead of any half-dozen solutions i can think of off the top of my head (e.g. season 2 power up, take advantage of his already canonical light shapeshifting powers)

they went "okay so a ghost genie re-writes reality so he never met Sam and therefore neve rdied so Sam convinces him to die all over again but not before slapping her own home-made logo on his chest"

ridiculous. awful. love it.
