people seem to be forgetting that "you don't need to transition medically to be trans" was born out of a time when blair white was the most popular trans person online. when the overwhelming zeitgeist was "you need to have bottom surgery, top surgery, ffs/fms, you need to be skinny (and white) you need to xyz to be really trans. if you dont do all of these things you are a faker who just wants attention." I remember there was a whole scandal about non-binary people entering in a binder swap program were accused of "stealing resources of trans men" because "these theyfabs aren't even going to transition anyway why are they taking all of our binders"

"you don't need to transition medically to be trans" was and is a response to virulent exclusionary transmedicalism. and it is not in opposition to "we need to make HRT and surgery available to anyone who seeks it"

favorite piece of Max characterization this episode is him having to out loud say "yes, and" to get himself to go along with people's plans more. he gritted that through his teeth with his eye twitching

Being stealth is not an option that only exists for trans men. Being cis passing is not an option that only exists for trans men.

If you really truly think that trans men have it easy and can go stealth whenever because being cis passing is so easily accessible to them and really truly think that trans women have it worse because they're clocky and can't pass as cis and will never be able to be fully stealth — you're just transphobic actually. Transmisogynist even.

At this point in my own personal life I literally know more stealth, cis passing trans women than I do stealth, cis passing trans men and most of those women are non-op at this point in their transitions.

Stop lying to trans women by telling them they'll never be able to pass ""as easily"" as trans men. You're just being a transmisogynist when you do.

Doctors purposefully give people very conservative life expectancy estimates because it is better for the person to have their affairs in order long before it is necessary than to be shocked by how rapidly their health is declining. This should be obvious but you would not believe the amount of people who are like “My father was given 3 months to live 5 months ago. This is proof all doctors are idiots and stupid. Look at him.
