Another update on Musab's situation

Musab still needs more funds for survival & for Lama to recover. His fundraiser is still very very slow going, so if you could share this and/or donate that would be extremely helpful. His fundraiser is still only at 51% raised.

My name is Moataz, a journalist from Gaza.
My story!
Imarried Huda on June 22nd. I was very happy with her. I photograph humanitarian issues for the world. The war started and we were exposed to a deadly attack that we miraculously survived.

We became homeless, without food or drink. My wife was crying. I set up my tent for the first time after displacement on November 1st. We sought refuge with all the relief organizations, but no one helped me. We are now awaiting the birth of our first child after a long wait. Huda is pregnant... I tried to search for safety by any means, for me, my wife Huda, and our eagerly awaiting son, Malek! 😭

We were surprised by the new displacement and the terrifying sight of the bombing. We lost everything we owned for the second time, we took refuge in Rafah, I tried in every way to provide healthy food for my wife and our expectant child, but we were surprised for the third time by a major attack that made us leave without any food or shelter, Huda is eight months pregnant and we were displaced for the fifth time, this time is the worst, Huda and I stayed for five days sleeping on the burning sand of the sea. We did not taste food for five days, 💔

...
Vetted by "gazavetters 527"
we were forced to sell sweets to save and pay the price of the tent. The date of birth of our first child, Malek, came, while we were preparing our tent to receive him, the place next door was bombed. Huda saw the remains, she lost consciousness, Dr. Ghassan requested an emergency delivery, Malek, our first child, died, I cried bitterly, and she entered a state of blood poisoning. All I want from you is to help me to save my family and Huda and restore my hope in life, from now on you, my family, I want to reach my goal, any donation. Help me save my family, if you can't please I just want to cry💔🥹🙏

if you have a moment, please consider giving some attention to my friend Nader ( @nader202-3 )'s campaign. besides himself, he is providing for his wife, Sally ( @sally2033 ), and their three young children, Laila, Nour, and Ahmed, as well as his parents and siblings. Nader's father was injured in the airstrike that destroyed the family's home; due to the lack of available medical care, he continues to struggle with long-term complications. this bombing also killed several of the Gibril family's relatives, including Nader's aunt, uncle, and cousin with his whole family.
now, their situation has gotten even more dire. earlier this month, Nader attempted to get food for the family at one of the israeli/US-run GHF aid distribution sites. as you've likely heard, these facilities have been used as cover to deliberately kill and injure people who come seeking desperately needed food. over 240 humanitarian organizations have called for the GHF to cease operations, and according to the UN, over 1,000 people have been killed while seeking aid. thankfully, Nader was not among them—but he was shot in the back and is now recovering from this serious injury without the benefits of easily accessible medicines, nutritious food, or even a safe and quiet place to rest.
Nader and Sally's children are all under ten years old. they are acutely vulnerable to starvation and the long-term consequences of malnutrition. if the Gibril family's campaign doesn't raise sufficient funds to buy food (which can be over $200 USD per day), Sally or one of the other adults in the family will have to risk their life seeking aid from the GHF. this is not tenable. they should not have to choose between being shot and watching their beloved children fade away from starvation.
your donations and engagement with Nader and Sally's campaign mean that Nader can recover without having to worry for his family, that Sally won't have to risk death or injury to feed their children, and that Laila, Nour, and Ahmed can survive and stay healthy. even just sharing their posts, following one or both of their blogs, or dropping a kind word is a reminder that they are not facing this terrible situation alone. whatever you can do to help is valuable.
(The Gibril family's campaign has been verified by @/90-ghost and is facilitated by @/pocketsizedquasar-3)

Where's my milk, Daddy?

This is a question young Omar asks every morning, with hungry eyes and a hoarse voice from crying, in a heart-rending scene.
It's not a casual question; it's the cry of pain of a hungry child… and a cry for help from the heart of stricken Gaza.
The Hashem family, like thousands of families in Gaza, lives a daily tragedy in order to feed their infant.
Today, obtaining a carton of baby formula has become a distant dream, its price having become unaffordable for families who have lost their homes and sources of income due to the siege and destruction.
Hashem, the grieving father, goes out every day in search of milk… roaming the streets and pharmacies, returning each time with empty hands and a heart heavy with helplessness.
In his home, a helpless mother weeps silently, and a child who will not stop crying from extreme hunger.
This is not a scene from a movie; it is the harsh reality of a besieged people, in a world from which milk has disappeared… and with it, compassion.
🚨 More than 66 children in Gaza died of malnutrition after Israel closed the crossings and prevented the entry of milk and essential food supplies.
A single carton of milk could save a life. Don't underestimate the impact you can have. Share the Hashem family's story… Save Gaza's children from a slow death.

500-year-old Snake Figure from Peru (Incan Empire), c. 1450-1532 CE: this fiber craft snake was made from cotton and camelid hair, and it has a total length of 86.4cm (about 34in)

This piece was crafted by shaping a cotton core into the basic form of a snake and then wrapping it in structural cords. Colorful threads were then used to create the surface pattern, producing a zig-zag design that covers most of the snake's body. Some of its facial features were also decorated with embroidery.

A double-braided rope is attached to the distal end of the snake's body, near the tip of its tail, and another rope is attached along the ventral side, where it forms a small loop just behind the snake's lower jaw. Similar features have been found in other serpentine figures from the same region/time period, suggesting that these objects may have been designed for a common purpose.

Very little is known about the original function and significance of these artifacts; they may have been created as decorative elements, costume elements, ceremonial props, toys, gifts, grave goods, or simply as pieces of artwork.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art argues that this figure might have been used as a prop during a particular Andean tradition:
In a ritual combat known as ayllar, snakes made of wool were used as projectiles. This effigy snake may have been worn around the neck—a powerful personal adornment of the paramount Inca and his allies—until it was needed as a weapon. The wearer would then grab the cord, swing the snake, and hurl it in the direction of the opponent. The heavy head would propel the figure forward. The simultaneous release of many would produce a scenario of “flying snakes” thrown at enemies.
The same custom is described in an account from a Spanish chronicler named Cristóbal de Albornoz, who referred to the tradition as "the game of the ayllus and the Amaru" ("El juego de los ayllus y el Amaru").
The image below depicts a very similar artifact from the same region/time period.

Help a weird Black girl Do Art: Shirts Edition
So hey while I'm here:
I'm really proud of these designs. I've spent more time going back to art as a means of expressing sentiments and values I find important bc typing about them on the internet just isn't 'doing it', y'know?
It's also not paying any bills and uhhh...I love having food and medical care!
I know there's a lot going on but I'm faithful that we still live in a world weird girls who hang out at home studying heretic texts can make a living, so I should probably let you all know I have a website! With merch!
This took a while to set up for many reasons, one of which being that it has been SO hard to find a supplier that had shirts with ZERO POLYESTER - These are 100% COTTON! I also found someone with unique designs that have lots of amazing detailing (The hoodie has lined hood/pockets and THUMB LOOPS <3) to where it actually felt like these were wardrobe staples not just random EZ print tees.
The current items available are expressions of autism, spirituality and nonbinary identity and there's more to come so please check it out!
I am also looking for a POD sticker company still, and would be interested in offering posters and such if you all would like. If that's the case PLEASE LET ME KNOW IN THE TAGS! Also store recommendations!

Just finished this choker breastplate!
I was inspired by the deep blue colours in this abalone button
It's made of moose hide, abalone, bone beads, brass cones, wool tradecloth, sodalite and lapis lazuli beads, glass pearls, and firepolished glass beads.
I had a lot of fun making it :)

World Famous Painter Highlights the ‘Grace’ of Black Women With New Work
By Sonya Eskridge
Cameras followed Kehinde Wiley, a New York-based portrait painter, as he decided to explore the inner and outer beauty of Black women for his latest project.
Kehinde is known for his creating portraits of young Black men, showcasing them in a way that mainstream society rarely does: strong, noble, soulful and heroic. He sets them against and even places them into classical-inspired pieces like a portrait modeled after Jacques-Louis David’s Napoleon Crossing the Alps. It’s been the main focus of his work for years up until now.
Recently, Kehinde decided to color outside the lines of his comfort zone by creating pieces with Black women as the subject. The whole process was captured for PBS in a documentary titled “Kehinde Wiley: Economy of Grace.”

Nour (@noor509) is raising funds so he can provide basic needs for his two children, one of whom was born in the middle of this genocidal war! Imagine trying to raise and feed a baby in a genocide, in the midst of constant bombings and with no aid being allowed in! Israel has killed at least 17,400 children during its war on Gaza! With Israel's constant attacks, survival is no easy feat, especially with a baby so young!
To make things worse, their Gofundme fundraiser was closed by GFM when the campaign organizer Andrea (@roadimusprime) switched how he transferred the money to Nour. They have created a PayPal link to collect funds, but donations to Nour have been suffering ever since! Please share and donate if you are able to! Every little bit helps!
Nour’s GFM was Shared by 90-ghost! The link doesn't work now because Tumblr took down Nour's old account, but see the reblog in the Wayback Machine link here, also see the screenshot of 90-ghost's reblog here and here.
7/7/25 update: Nour's Paypal has also been Shared by @/90-ghost!!

I lost 15 kg this month. My weight is now 42 kg. I don’t know what next month will bring.
I gave the campaign to my younger sister — not just in case I don’t survive, but so she might have a chance to save whoever’s left in our family.
I’m only 23. I used to dream of living like others — to 60 or 70. But people like us don’t get to dream that far.
If these are the last words I ever write… I just hope they reach someone who still has the power to care.
