nix-sankru:
Nix was feeling less than generous, her mood soured from an interaction with a Trikru who had claimed his weapons outshined hers. Of course, considering all weapons were banned from Polis, there was no way to prove that she was the superior blacksmith. It wasn’t the first time someone had sauntered up to her and inflated their ego. It had happened many times, but she had come out victorious each time. Still, she was less than pleased and in her anger, she had slammed into someone smaller than her without a care. Turning on her heel, she glanced down at the dark haired woman, upper lip curling into a snarl.
Still, she held any sharp retort in, inhaling sharply to help cool some of her rage. In truth, she knew she was in the wrong. Even more, she knew that if someone had slammed into her, she would have reacted hissing and spitting. Taking another breath, she eased more of her rage until she nodded, curtly. “You are correct. I am in the wrong. I’m sorry.” She offered nothing more than that, instead roving her eyes over the woman.

Kiyi looked the woman over, noting the scowl. Not that it was surprising, people weren’t known to be warm here in Polis. However it was annoying when people acted as if it was a chore to be civil. “I accept your apology,” she replied, painting a soft smile on her lips with a soft nod. One caught more flies with honey, after all. “Why the rush? I trust all is well.”

tribeca-kom-sankru:
Tribeca didn’t visit Polis very often, but when she did she certainly enjoyed herself. It was the first time she had visited without her sister, so she didn’t have that safety net she was used to, but that hadn’t changed much once she’d actually reached the Capitol. The scavenger had spent most of her morning in among that markets, trading what she had found within the ruins of her homeland for objects and supplies that simply couldn’t be obtained out there due to the severity of the climate.
After her sole reason for coming here had been taken care of, Eca decided to obtain some food for the journey home so she might make it back to the safety of Sangada territory before nightfall. It wasn’t until then that she felt someone bump into the back of her, and saw the very same brute that had tried to take her for a fool back in the marketplace walk by. “You never know, it might physically hurt people like that.” She chuckled, turning to the woman. “Are you okay?”

Kiyi couldn’t help but smile at the other girl’s reaction. Women were so much wittier than men. “Takes more than that to do more than irk me,” she replied with a small nod of her head. “Amazing how these brutes think they own the very streets, isn’t it?”

Kiyi enjoyed the time she spent in Polis. Zula was often in meetings with the Heda’s of the other clans and had little use for a handmaiden until the evenings. Which in turn gave Kiyi plenty of time to roam the city. She’d already traded some things, procuring new clothing for herself and a gift for her queen. But the brunette hadn’t been completely frivolous during her stay.
Polis provided the only opportunity to talk to those from other clans safely. A luxury Kiyi always took advantage of. She enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life, learning the ways of others. However, she was ready for a much needed break. Thus she found herself in line to buy a midday meal when she was nearly pushed to the ground by someone walking past, without so much as a second glance, “You know, an apology never killed anyone.”
