An absolute classic retold through the lens of familial cycles, projection, and what is born of hate and pain— then love. Woven expertly with enchanting, fantastical character designs and charming dialogue that flows.

A story-book, classic feel with Kluge's unique style; texture and form plays in stark, bold sequences that move with poetic rhythm. Beautifully constructed composition. Artwork that makes you linger and retrace the page twice over— each page flows well on a screen and will translate well to page, making for easy to read material across devices.

This retelling of Beowulf is one of my favourites. Kluge captures the spirit of the tale in a new, fresh light without losing its roots. Its message rings out long after the final page.

Reading Fever Dreams of a Parasite's 'Feast of the Dreamer' like this was made for meeeee—

Grave robbing. Cannibalism as a gateway to a dreamscape. Rot, decay. Organs compared to fruit, ripeness included. Ascension through autocannibalism. How do you inject a story into your veins?

This anthology is going to make me eat pages. The first story had a centipede-esque Entity in the Mojave desert and everything.

So I watched Possum (2018) today and it's immediately become one of my all time favourite films— filming on 35mm kodak really drives home that the shiny, too-clean look some films/shows have now detract from the vibe potential.

I could write an essay on Philip's puppet and all it represents— it's face, his face. The house itself, the way the puppet is slung up being mirrored by the way his arms dangle. The way Philip regresses into a child around other adults is genuinely painful. Accepting 'sweets' that make him gag. The way the dialogue of the movie, especially Maurices', is like prose.

Go in blind to watch this film. I seldom watch horror films that actually inspire any kind of dread or tension, but Possum dragged rust across my nerves the whole way through. The climax is everything— the metaphors are like a bullet to the skull once you get there.

Survivors of Philip's circumstances will feel all of the weight of this. And that fucking puppet really is horrifying, but it becomes tragic once you know.

bingewatching will never come close to bingereading. there is nothing like blocking out the entire Earth for ten hours to read a book in one sitting no food no water no shower no bra and emerging at the end with no idea what time it is or where you are, a dried-up prune that's sensitive to light and loud noises because you've been in your room in the dark reading by the glow of a single LED. it's like coming back after a three-month vacation in another dimension and now you have to go downstairs and make dinner. absolutely transcendental
