HAPPY LESBIAN VISIBILITY DAY and happy birthday to me
I finally redrew, compiled and made enough to put together a 46 page zine of Sapphic Disco Elysium stuff. If you follow me, you'll see a lot that is familiar, but I have gone back and redrawn basically... most of it. and added to it. and honestly, there is a lot I didn't get to, so the pdf comes with lifetime updates

long live the car crash hearts by exastris_scientia
EVERYONE GATHER ROUNG. we are reading vampire fanfiction. nobody has written the 100k 1970s louis’s minion slowburn of my dreams yet (though i live in hope) but frequently i remember ‘get the boy whatever he wants’ and go crazy. this is the fic i read when i go crazy. in a just world this would be at the top of the danlou ao3 tag and start a revolution

14. Recommend your favorite fic.
the future will take care of itself by adjourn
answering both of these at once because as a creature afflicted with indecisiveness i have no idea what my fav of all time would be or how i’d go about choosing it… however i DO know that my favourite gen fic is 33k of arthur morgan, beloved doomed cowboy, accidentally stumbling into a career as a successful artist after lying to some guy in a bar

6. Recommend a fic that does something cool with format or structure (epistolary, social media, 5 things, non-linear, etc.)
heard from your mother (she doesn’t recognize you) by rupertgayes
a full rewrite of supernatural season 1 that dares to ask the question ‘what if there was slowburn destiel in this’. when i say a full rewrite i mean the author has essentially ported supernatural to a new engine. episodic format means it really does feel like spn but with better textures and a version of the plot that actually engages with all the sociopolitical threads woven into it. REALLY GOOD. i can recommend watching the show episode by episode while reading this chapter by chapter for maximum effect. i did this back in february when i was trapped in the throes of a sinus infection and it was the most fun i’ve ever had while being unable to breathe through my nose

Recommend a fic that lives in your brain rent free.
a sharp-angled azimuth by leoandsnake
i think probably if i was confronted with a sign that said ‘AO3 WRAPPED. you have read A SHARP-ANGLED AZIMUTH: PART 4 OF UN JOUR JE SERAI DE RETOUR [XXX] times since 2021’ i would run away from that sign without looking at it because seeing the number would kill me. the original jeanharry gateway drug and the reason i know the meaning of the word soupçon

The Autopsy of Harrier du Bois by bajabussyblaster, siliconesausage
a recent gem from the disco tag that, via the miracle of css, looks exactly like a scene from the game. although honestly what's more impressive is how it READS exactly like a scene from the game, often to the point of being eerie. the workskin is the icing on the cake. heed the tags but the descriptions aren't gratuitous or especially gory. i would also like to take a moment to reflect on the username 'bajabussyblaster'
12. Recommend a fic that formed or changed your opinion on something (characterization, backstory, relationship, etc.)
the savage price of piety by Mici
reread this the other day and was reminded that it doomed my relationship with tdt before it could even begin… it's so potent & vivid, wonderfully written, and feels so very very plausible as a backstory. i had three years in which to internalize this as canon and then miss stief was like ‘actually aurora wasn’t declan’s mother at all. please incorporate this stranger into your worldview’ and i felt like a cat being fed a pill. very much a Jesse what the fuck are you talking about moment

He Was Meant to Rule Corporate America. What Comes Next? by magnoliabud
this is an interview with kendall roy in the new york times. it is written entirely straight. i love interview fics that do this i think it takes so much balls. this is part of my KSCU (kenstewy cinematic universe) because it manages to hit the sweet spot between fix-it and character study and because the kenstewy itself is perfectly dosed. i feel like writing outsider pov is not dissimilar to putting rosewater in a macaron. i mean it’s also not like that at all but hopefully you get where i’m going with this

widdershins by hope
i am going to answer both of these at once by saying something deeply insane but i need you to bear with me: this is supernatural genfic from 2006 about a newly widowed john winchester, children in tow, stumbling into a lynchian mobius strip time loop. and it rules. it honestly does. at the very least i haven’t read anything quite like it before or since. link goes to ao3 but i first read it on the author’s now defunct livejournal as a teenager who spent every waking moment browsing spnstoryfinders

The Collision in Cardiozone HQ by glittermilk
gosh it’s been a hot minute since i last yapped about cardiozone… this is archetypal kimharry & one of the first bookmarks i reach for whenever the disco vapours afflict me. 95k and by the end you will be desperately wishing there was more. funny, well paced, well realised (i ❤️ disco fics that on some level capture The World along with The Characters), and possesses charm & personality in spades. best read at night, so it can cast a little spell over you. the ending to this day fills me with unfathomable envy
11. Recommend a fic you think is a hidden gem/deserves more reads.
SOUND & FURY! BY BARDNUTS!
there is a little man in this story named twill cavander. he is a bard (allegedly). he is a freak (unquestionably). once you meet twill cavander there is no going back. he’s the only durge you’ll ever need. you will finding yourself looking at official bg3 promotional material and thinking What the devil is going on here. they forgot about twill. S&F is suitable for both enjoyers of bg3 and people who DON’T like bg3 but have a lingering affection for terry pratchett, nbc hannibal, and/or homoerotic buddy comedies. read it.
