Klaroline Awards 2016 Trivia

In celebration of this year’s successful awards, here is an updated list of trivia about one of the fandom’s favorite events. Hopefully all of you had fun participating in the Klaroline Awards 2016!

1. Again, Klaroline Awards 2016 is brought to us by @jeweljessicajones, @carolineswomanhood, @howeverlongs, @eriberry89, @lalainajanes, @willowaus, and @lclrgsl. Thank you girls for all your hard work to make this event possible!

2. There were 93 awards given this year, the most in the Klaroline Awards’ 5 year history.

3. There were approximately 31,620 votes in this year’s awards, or 5,746 votes more than last year.

4. @klarolinedrabbles, @hybridtunnelvision (clangwee) and @erica-dreams-in-colour (she.dreams.in.colour/she.daydreams.in.colour) all hold on to the distinction of being the only 3 shippers who have been nominated for awards every year since 2012.

*Remember some shippers chose not to participate in the awards / participated in earlier awards but chose not to participate in later awards.

5. @hybridtunnelvision and @erica-dreams-in-colour also both hold on to the distinction of being the only 2 shippers who have won awards every year since 2013. They were nominated for a total of 5 categories during the first year of the Klaroline Awards, but because both of them did not win in any category, nobody has won an award every year since 2012.

6. The record for most number of Klaroline Awards wins is now held by @erica-dreams-in-colour and @livingdeadblondequeen (livingdeadblondegirl) who each have won 9 awards. Five of their combined 18 awards were won this year.

Runners up for most awards are:

8 awards – @queenvampirebarbie, @klaroline69

6 awards each - @loveoblivious, @royalcaliber, @klarolinemag

7. @queenvampirebarbie remains to be the only Klaroliner who has managed to win awards in more than two ‘fields’ (blogging, video and graphics). She is also the first and only shipper so far to win the Jack of All Trades award, introduced in 2015.

8. The most number of votes for a nominated story this year is 248, which is the number of votes Growing Up Beside you by @lalainajanes received to win Best AH-AU Fiction. Runner up is Jar of Hearts by @cupcakemolotov.

9. The most number of votes for a nominated writer this year is 274, which is the number of votes @thetourguidebarbie received to win Best Smut Author. Runner up is @misssophiachase, who received 262 votes to win Best AH-AU Author.

10. The most number of votes for a category this year is 787 for Best Overall Twitter Profile, which was won by @klarolineepic . Runner up is 776 for Funniest/Sassiest Tweets, which was won by @Klarolinefucked.

11. The most number of votes for a nominee this year is 672, which is the number of votes @klarolinemag  received to win Most Resourceful Twitter. Runner up is 590 for @Klarolinefucked, who won Funniest/Sassiest Tweets

12. The most vote-rich awards this year are the Twitter awards. All ten categories had more than 700 votes each.

13. There are 9 shippers who won all three categories they were nominated in this year: @parallel-outlines, @howeverlongs, @hellsbellschime, @klarolinedrabbles, @queenvampirebarbie, @erica-dreams-in-colour, @she-walked-away (soapmaniac22), @lalainajanes and @cupcakemolotov.

14. The record for most number of individual Klaroline Awards nominations is still held by @hybridtunnelvision with 17. Runners up are  @erica-dreams-in-colour with 15 nominations and @cbk1000 with 12 nominations.

15. The record for the most number of Klaroline Awards won by an individual work is still held by the story Coven by @loveoblivious, which has won five awards.

Klaroline Awards Trivia

In celebration of the Klaroline Awards, I compiled a list of trivia about one of our favorite fandom projects, which started back in 2012 and is now on its fifth year. Hopefully this will entertain you and encourage you to participate!

Trivia are based on information posted in the @klarolineawards blog and at fanlore.org. If you see something I missed or needs correcting (specially those who changed URL’s), just message me and I’ll fix it.

DISCLAIMER: This post is not intended to promote competition or influence the fandom’s perception about anyone or anything  (i.e. endorse someone or imply that Klaroliner 1 is better than Klaroliner 2 because she has more awards/nominations/votes), it’s just a write-up of statistics for entertainment purposes.

2. There have been 270 Klaroline Awards won in the last 4 years. The least number of awards was given in 2012 with 46, while the most was given last year with 85 awards.

3. There were approximately 25, 874 votes received during the voting period last year, which is more than twice the 12,089 votes received during the voting period of the first Klaroline Awards.

4. By virtue of being the first winner to be announced, on November 26, 2012 at 10:25AM, @accola-holic technically became the first ever Klaroline Awards winner, winning Best Drabble Blog.

5. There are only 3 shippers who have been nominated every year since 2012: @klarolinedrabbles, @hybridtunnelvision (clangwee)  and @erica-dreams-in-colour (she.dreams.in.colour/she.daydreams.in.colour).

6. Both @hybridtunnelvision and @erica-dreams-in-colour have won awards every year since 2013. They were nominated for a total of 5 categories during the first year of the Klaroline Awards, but because both of them did not win in any category, nobody has won an award every year since 2012.

7. The record for most number of Klaroline Awards won is held by @klaroline69, a drabble blog involving past and present 12 authors, with 8 award wins.  Individual Klaroliners who have won the most number of awards are@marvelouskatie and @livingdeadblondequeen (livingdeadblondegirl), who each have 7 awards. 

Runners up for most awards are:

6 Awards each: @xxwhisperofdreamsxx, @jomosfamilyjewels(thedeej), @erica-dreams-in-colour, @radientwings 

5 Awards each: heystrippah, @loveoblivious, @hybridtunnelvision, @queenvampirebarbie, @willowaus, @loveoblivious, @royalcaliber (channelmoderngifs) @klarolinemag

8. Only one Klaroliner has managed to win awards in more than two ‘fields’: @queenvampirebarbie, who has won awards for the fields of blogging, video and graphics. Fittingly she is the first and so far only winner of the Jack of All Trades Award introduced in 2015.

9. The most number of votes for a nominated story is 397, which is the number of votes The Devil’s Backbone by @willowaus received to win Best Canon Fiction last year. Runner ups are The Parisian Deal by Borzoi with 381 winning Best Romance Fiction and Coven by @loveoblivious with 333 to win Best AU fiction, also in 2015.

10. The most number of votes for a nominated writer is 370, which is the number of votes @willowaus received to win Best Klaus Author last year. Runners up are @maevelin with 269 votes to win Best Dark Author in 2012 and @tonkola (Ms.Full.Of.Light) with 266 winning Best Fluff Author in 2015.

11. The most number of votes for a category is 822 for Best Drabble Author in 2012. This award was won by @klausykins. In the most recent Awards, the most number of votes for a category is 543 for Best Smut Author. This award was won by @cupcakemolotov.

12. There have been three instances of a tie throughout the five seasons of the Klaroline Awards. Two happened in 2014 when @romanoffsbite (nfinneman) and @mikaelshake both got 210 votes to win Best Fanfiction Poster Maker while @hellsbellschime and @ravenclawslibrary each got 91 votes to win Best Meta Blog. The first tie happened in 2013 when @idiot–winds (idiot-wind89) and @klaroline69 got 235 votes each to win Best Smut Author. 

13. There was a special instance in 2012 when @xxwhisperofdreamsxx was named winner of the Best Overall Video and Best Overall Video Awards even before voting began, because all five nominated videos for the first category were made by her and she was the only nominee in the second category.

14. The record for most number of individual Klaroline Awards nominations is held by @hybridtunnelvision with 15. She had 6 nominations in 2013 when Oneshots and Drabbles were separate categories and drabble nominations were excluded from the “You can be nominated in 3 categories only” rule. Runners up are @erica-dreams-in-colour with 12 nominations and @cbk1000, @jomosfamilyjewels and @marvelouskatie with 9 nominations each. 

15. The record for most number of individual nominees for a category is 11. In 2014, @klausswordholder, @teamklausftw, @klaus-therippah, @k-laus , @skyangel22, @cbk1000, @ishipitlove, @originalgroupie, @klausbowtie, @margoatrobbie (formerly klaussucks) and @themayhemducklings (formerly lostheart95) were all nominated for Best Klaus Blog. @klausswordholder was the lucky winner.

16. The record for the most number of Klaroline Awards won by an individual work is held by the story Coven by @loveoblivious, which has won four awards.
