What’s new with Yamaha electronic drums in 2014? https://electronic-drums.info/whats-new-yamaha-electronic-drums-2014/
When people think drums, they think of drummers in bands, surrounded by an amazing drum set. What few people consider are electronic drums. This has its reasons. Electronic instruments have had a slow growth over the past few decades. Where as the electric guitar has taken off, other instruments have adopted the transition into electric a little slower. Drums are chief among them. Let’s take a look at what is up with the current electronic drums market, as well as what’s new with Yamaha’s electronic drums in 2014.
 A Rocky Start
The first generation of electronic drums was a bit temperamental at best, and disliked at worst. Many people did not like the sound, as well as the various issues that were still yet to be resolved. However, over the past few years, these problems have been mostly addressed. Now, manufacturers like Yamaha are creating new models, new kit models, and new modules that sound and feel increasingly like the more traditional acoustic kits.
The DTX Line
Yamaha has several models in the DTX line, including an electronic drum sets that benefit from high-quality modeled drum sounds, as well as actual percussions sounds. All of this can be stored as you play, allowing you to play with the sound via music editing software. In addition, things that used to sound terrible or not be possible, like using an actual open and closed foot playing, cross shots, rim shots, and multiple triggers across the snare, are all possible now.
The DTX950K Six-Piece Electronic Drum System with Hex Rack
Representing the best of Yamaha’s 2014 electronic drums set, the DTX950K comes with a large number of features and improvements over the older models. These new models come with advanced DTX-PADS with new textured cellular silicone heads. This Yamaha electronic drums set is comparable to the Roland electronic drums set, including a new 12” XP120S Snare Pad. In addition, it comes with two 10” XP100T and two 12” XP12T Floor Tom Pads. Designed to look and feel realistic, the DTX950K has onboard sampling and dedicated effects, as well as reinforced heads and shock-absorbing mounting system. Matt chrome finished hoops add strength to the individual drums, while also making them look great. If you are in the market for electronic drums, then the newest in the series of Yamaha electronic drums is worth checking out.

Advantages and Disadvantages between Electronic and Classic Drums https://electronic-drums.info/advantages-disadvantages-electronic-classic-drums/
If you are considering either an electronic drums set or a classic drums set, then you no doubt have a lot of questions. Mainly, which is considered better? This question would have been simple if asked a few years ago. Only recently have electronic drums progressed to the point where they are comparable on many levels to classic drums. While this will make your decision more difficult, it will also provide you with many options. Lets take a moment now to review the advantages and disadvantages of electronic and classic drums, focusing on a few key features.
Noise
When it comes right down to it, the reason why the majority of people purchase electronic drums sets are because they are much quieter then classic drums. That is not to say that they are completely silent. They are not completely silent. However, electronic drums can allow you to listen to your play through earphones. This is much preferred over the otherwise loud noise that comes from classic drums.
Price
Depending on what you are looking for, electronic or classical drums may be preferable. When it comes to buying a beginners set, most people suggest going classical, because most electronic drums that are cheap are not good and break easily. The question becomes more challenging however when you get to mid ranged drum kits. Here, mid ranged electronic drums can start around $700, making them a competitive option when compared to buying a classic drums set. In addition, if cost is on your mind, then keep in consideration that electronic drumsticks tend to last longer then their classic drums. As a final note, if you are looking for a used drum set, most people will suggest classic over electronic, as classic will have less problems after use.
Positioning
Depending on your play style and size, positioning may be the key. For electronic drum kits, you only need a minimum of space. Classic drum kits require more room, but are also infinitely easier to position. That is why if customizability is the key, then classic is the way to go. However, if storage is the key, then electronic drum kits are advised due to how easily they can be stored.
Feel
When it comes down to feel, classic drums still beat out electronic drums. The gap is narrowing, but for a comparable price, it is hard to beat the classic design, feel, and sound. However, if you want in built tools that make keeping a beat, listening to music, and recording easier, then electronic is the way to go.

Korg Wavedrum https://electronic-drums.info/korg-wavedrum/
The original Korg Wavedrum amazed the music world back in 1994. This legendary musical instrument was instantly famous for its innovative design, performance possibilities, and unique sounds. Well, hang on tight; the power-packed, affordable next-generation Wavedrum Dynamic Percussion Synthesizer is here today and ready to make musical history. Again.
The Power of the Dark Side
Step away from the ordinary. Now you can stand out from the crowd with the Wavedrum Black Limited Edition. Featuring an unmistakably premium look, the Wavedrum Black is finished with a solid black metallic rim and an exclusive BLACK SUEDE™ Remo drum head – projecting a totally different vibe than the cool aura of the original silver scheme. With the Wavedrum Black Limited Edition, you’ll find yourself inspired like never before.
Wavedrum – Unprecedented sound, response, and performance
Sonically rich, programmable, and intensely sensitive, this 2nd generation Wavedrum is bursting with more than enough power and expression to create its own musical legend. The extreme dynamic range challenges the response of an acoustic instrument. Wavedrum responds instantly to any and all playing styles, from subtly-nuanced tapping and stroking to aggressive, rhythmic assaults. From traditional acoustic percussion instruments to unique sounds previously impossible to obtain, Wavedrum serves up an enticing treasure trove of sounds. With Wavedrum, you’re always in control. Instruments that normally require special techniques to play, such as tabla, conga, etc., can be played with ease. Create your own unique performance style, filled with unparalleled levels of expression and originality. Built to travel, the compact and lightweight Wavedrum is ideal wherever your musical dreams take you – from casual playing through to a full-on recording session or a live concert performance.
Open the door to new musical journeys
The Korg Wavedrum delivers inspiration and satisfaction to creative performers seeking new realms of expressiveness and sounds. Moving beyond traditional drum and percussion sounds, Wavedrum also provides totally new and unique sounds that are not available in the real world, and offers new ways of playing to achieve new levels of musical expression. Imagine changing the pitch randomly with each hit, or playing melodic phrases simply by choosing a musical scale and applying pressure to the head. Imagine no more, Wavedrum does it all. While opening new doors, Wavedrum is faithful to its roots. Traditional hand-drum techniques, such as adding pitch and tonal changes to a strike by pressing the head, have been previously unobtainable on an electronic instrument. No longer. Wavedrum can process and respond to these intimate performance gestures as no other instrument can. These same techniques provide a wealth of performance possibilities. For example, Wavedrum can produce sitar and tambura sounds at the same time. You can produce tambura sounds alone by hitting the head, adding the sitar sounds by applying pressure to the head before hitting it. Applying further pressure can change the pitch of the sitar within the selected scale. Only Wavedrum is able to offer such astounding versatility.
Multiple sensors deliver previously unimaginable expressiveness
Acoustic percussion instruments produce sound naturally, in direct response to a physical impact, be it gentle or abrupt. Wavedrum, although an electronic musical instrument, creates sound exactly the same way. The head and rim pickups are directly used as a sound source to be processed by the DSP (Digital Signal Processing) algorithms, and they also trigger the PCM sound engine. Together with the pressure sensor under the head, the Wavedrum responds to each and every subtle finger and hand motion (hitting, rubbing, scratching etc). as well as to the traditional hand drum techniques of open shot, slap shot, heel and toe, mute, etc. Of course, the Wavedrum responds not just to your hands, but to other playing materials as well, such as sticks, mallets, and brushes. The rim has two types of notches, small and large, and these can be used to elicit a tremolo-type effect by scratching with sticks, etc. Combining the rim sounds with the head sounds can create an even richer, more original performance.
DSP synthesis and PCM samples combine for endless sonic exploration
The Wavedrum contains 36 DSP algorithms to conjure an abundance of synthesis methods; analog, additive, non-linear, physical modeling, etc. Using these building blocks, you can create various instrument sounds, natural sounds, or purely synthetic sounds – in addition to Wavedrum’s own unique voice. The PCM sound engine – the other important part of Wavedrum’s sound creation system – contains 200 sampled sounds; 100 for the head, and 100 for the rim, with velocity-switching capabilities. Certain algorithms allow you to combine a specific DSP method and a PCM instrument to the head, and assign a different combination to the rim. This method of controlling multiple sounds within a single program delivers a fantastic playing experience, rich in sound. In other algorithms, the velocity and tone of the strike are used to control the PCM sound, creating a responsive interaction that far surpasses any sample-playback device, one rivaling that of an acoustic instrument.
Planet-wide percussion
Wavedrum begins with a foundation of traditional pop/rock drum sounds such as snares, kick drums, tom toms, and more. Wavedrum also opens new vistas of sound, delivering a wealth of percussion sounds from many eras and cultures around the globe and throughout time. Ethnic percussion instruments, although seemingly simple in structure and performance, are capable of expressing the complex emotions of a culture. These include popular percussion instruments such as cajons, congas and tablas; metallic instruments such as cowbells, and triangles, along with rare ethnic percussion sounds. With Wavedrum, you have instant access to instruments such as the udu, a clay pod percussion instrument; the jegog, a bamboo gamelan marimba from the island of Bali; a talking drum from Africa, gongs, and many other instruments that often require special playing skills. Not strictly limited to percussion sounds, Wavedrum includes stringed instruments such as the sitar, koto, and berimbau as well. For every sound, Wavedrum adds its own new modes of expression, in addition to faithfully re-creating the original sounds.
Enjoy 100 preset programs; create 100 programs that are all your own
The 100 preset Wavedrum programs range from high-fidelity emulative drum and percussion sounds to a world of new and unique sounds. There are a range of parameters available for editing and tweaking to create new sounds to suit your own music or style of playing. In addition to making changes to pitch, decay time, loudness, reverb, delay, and curve (intensity) of the pressure sensor, you can completely alter the sound by, for example, changing the head material parameter from skin to metal. The combination of DSP and sampled sounds can also be changed to create totally new sounds from scratch. These new programs (up to 100) can be stored in the user area. The Wavedrum also has a Live Mode, which can store up to 12 favorite programs (from the preset or user programs) for selection instantaneously during performance.
Jam-along functions for added fun
Sure, you can enjoy the Wavedrum just by playing the sounds alone, but the dynamic and interactive Wavedrum adds some special features that provide jam-along abilities for fun or practice. Practice your paradiddles or simply wail away along to 100 loop phrases from various musical genres. Using the AUX input, you can mix in the signal from any audio source – CD, MP3 player, or even an additional Wavedrum. The options are endless.
Ready, Set, Go
Portable, compact, and lightweight, Wavedrum is ready for any musical outing. Hold Wavedrum on your lap, or play it standing like a hand drum. Place Wavedrum on an ordinary snare drum stand, or add Wavedrum to any electronic or acoustic drum kit. Use Wavedrum as part of a DJ set-up, or add a percussive element to your keyboard rig. Wavedrum is the ideal accent for any vocalist or front person. Using the headphone output allows you to practice in private, anytime, anyplace – without fretting about the neighbors!

Alesis DM7 USB Kit https://electronic-drums.info/alesis-dm7-usb-kit/
Crushing bass drums, cracking snares, melodic toms and shimmering cymbals are all at your fingertips when you sit behind the DM7 USB Kit. Experience the thrill of busting out beats on eight total drum and cymbal pads powered by a sound module with over 400 sounds. Between the stable rack, triple-zone snare pad, choke-able crash and USB connectivity, the DM7 USB Kit gives you flagship electronic drumset features at an ultra-affordable price.
With a built-in metronome, lessons and a performance record feature, the DM7 USB Kit not only accommodates your development but also contributes to it. If you’re looking for a kit to get you drumming fast with advanced features hard to outgrow, look no further than the DM7 USB Kit.
NATURAL FEEL AND FEATURES
The DM7 USB Kit gives you five, great-feeling, velocity-sensitive drum pads that are designed to withstand heavy hitters, without sacrificing their ability to capture performance dynamics. Play all day and night without driving your neighbors nuts due to the pads’ responsive rubber surface that is quiet and resilient. No need to purchase new drum heads every few months like an acoustic drumset; these pads are tough. As smart as it is tough, the large snare pad has three separate zones to allow discreet sounds to be performed at once. Now you can open a track with a solid snare sound, lay down a mellow cross-stick in the verse and then crank up the chorus with a blistering rimshot, truly replicating the versatility of an acoustic snare drum.
Just as tough as the drums, the DM7 USB Kit’s three cymbal pads give you fantastic feel and performance. Providing the same level of realism found in the snare pad, the crash cymbal allows you to immediately stop or “choke” the sound by grabbing the pad with your hand. This technique is often used to great effect in just about all music genres, but isn’t always available in electronic drums.
SOUNDS AND CONTROL
The DM7 drum module will have you banging out beats in no time. An intuitive, easy-to-use layout quickly scrolls through the 50 preset kits built from the more than 400 individual sounds. Once you’ve found the right kit, fire up the flexible metronome and practice exercises to get on the path to perfection. When you’re ready to lay down those practiced beats, play along to the 52 internal songs to see if you can keep up! Also, the DM7 module allows you to connect and mix your iPod through a 1/4″ line input to play along with your favorite songs. Record up to 10 performances and then listen back with your friends to show them how awesome you are.
As your skill progresses, the DM7 drum module will continue to grow with you. Tweak the pitch, panning, and reverb level of individual sounds and then create up to 30 custom drum kits to express your personal sound. The DM7 USB Kit can also be used with your favorite music software. Through a standard USB connection, you can use the drum and cymbal pads to play and record straight to your computer. The possibilities are endless.
HOLDING STRONG
The last thing you want to do when you get a drum set is spend hours assembling it. No worries; the DM7 USB Kit ships with a pre-assembled rack that lets you get to jamming quick. Four posts give the DM7 USB Kit a solid, balanced foundation that won’t inch away from you as you play. Drum and cymbal pads are all fastened using large wingbolts that allow you to obtain a comfortable grip and tighten securely. Cymbal arms feature mini-boom tilters for a great deal of flexibility when positioning, and the kick pad is equipped with retractable spurs to hold it in place.

Alesis HR-16 http://ift.tt/2hVfHYD
One of Alesis’s first drum machines. With 49 sounds including 10 kicks, 7 snares and a complete ethnic set all of which are 16 bit samples this drum machine is a great bargain! Its partner in crime is the MMT-8 sequencer. But the HR-16 has its own sequencer with 100 patterns and 100 songs available. The drum tones can be tuned, have individual level controls for mixing, and there is 16 voice polyphony which means up to 16 drum tones can be used within a pattern. Patterns are programmed in either step or real-time. With external click inputs and Midi, the HR-16 is capable of integrating your older drum machines or sequencers with Midi systems! The drum sounds, however, are pretty cheesy.
Alesis HR-16B
The updated HR-16B model had lots of new sounds cool for enough techno and electronic music. And it still costs about the same price. It is possible that some HR-16’s may have been modified to use the HR-16B’s ROM chip to get those sounds. The HR-16 is gray and the HR-16B is black. Either one makes a handy little drum machine that’s so cheap these days that it is more than worth adding to your studio – it just might come in handy one day. It is used by Orbital, The Grid, Autechre, Sub Dub and the Stereo MC’s.
  Specifications
Drum Sounds – 49: 10 bass drums, 7 snares, 5 toms, 2 open hihats, 1 closed hat, 3 cymbals, Hi/Low congas, 2 woodblocks, 2 maracas, 2 cowbells, claves, cabasa, shaker, agogo, triangle, tambourine, handclaps, finger snap, side stick

Yamaha DTX520K http://ift.tt/2jwkZxC
Utilizing the TCS head for superior stick feel, the XP80 provides snare head, open rimshot, and closed rimshot voices in each of the three zones for authentic snare expression. The ride and crash cymbals both feature cup, bow and edge voices and are “choke-able”. The realistic sounds of the DTX500 module lets you sound your best, and with the advanced practice tools and easy song recorder you will be getting better all the time.
DTX-PADs – For Quiet Practice that Improves Technique
After years of designing and manufacturing some of the world’s finest drums, Yamaha knows what it means for drums to feel good and play naturally. Yamaha designed the DTX-PAD to be the new standard in electronic drum pads, providing drummers with a pad that feels good, offers playability that is as close as possible to acoustic drums, and is exceptionally quiet. Teaming up with the world’s top drummers to satisfy their demanding sense of perfection, Yamaha focused their knowledge and experience and created the DTX-PAD. This next generation drum pad allows for true development of acoustic drumming techniques. The DTX520K utilizes the DTX-PAD for the snare, with authentic stick response and ability to play open/closed rim shots essential for snare performance.
Legendary Yamaha Sound Quality for All Your Drum Kits
The DTX500 drum trigger module features Yamaha’s high-quality tone generator with realistic acoustic drum, cymbal, and percussion sounds. You get the sounds of hi-end oak, maple, beech and birch drums, with details like velocity-switching samples (that changes sound characteristic as you play harder) so you will feel like you are listening to a “live” set of drums. The 50 preset kits are ready for you to perform a wide range of music styles, and you can select your favorite sounds to create custom user kits, and add digital reverb effects and master EQ to sweeten the sound. While the DTX-PADs provide an authentic drum feel, the DTX500 drum trigger module provides you with amazingly realistic drum sounds. Using digital sound technology derived from the MOTIF ES synthesizer, these instruments come alive from under your sticks, directly responding to your dynamic performance with full musical expression.
Play Along With Musical Practice Songs
The songs of the DTX520K let you play along in different styles with or without the recorded drum track, solo the bass player, or with the full ensemble to make playing fun and practicing seem more like a band rehearsal.
Practical Tools that Improve your Groove
Yamaha’s popular groove tools have set the standard for educational functions that are not only easy and fun to use, but actually help you become a better drummer. The DTX520K has a collection of training functions including the popular Groove Check that displays whether you are playing early or late, so you can more easily correct undesirable habits. Rhythm Gate is like a drumming game that automatically mutes the sound if you playing is too far out of time, so you quickly learn to control your groove and play “in the pocket”. Practice has never been this much fun!
3-Zone Cymbals with “Choke” Feature Deliver Realistic Expression
The cymbals of the DTX520K feature our advanced 3-zone cymbal pads which can express a different sound in each of the cup, bow and edge zones.
Expressive Hi-Hat System for Advanced Performance
The DTX520K features a hi-hat system that uses a remote hi-hat pedal controller (included with the kit) and trigger pad to provide realistic hi-hat expression. The pedal and pad can be located anywhere around the kit, much like the popular remote cable hi-hat systems for acoustic drums. Moreover, the hi-hat can express various styles of play such as open/close position, closed pedal and foot splash. You can even play tip and edge voices for adding subtle nuances to the beat!
AUX INPUT Connection to Play Along With Your Favorite Tunes
The DTX520K includes an audio input for connecting an external music player to the module so you can play along with your favorite music, either though the main output or in your headphones, so you can quickly master the piece you want to learn note for note.
Programmable Click Tracks with the Hi-Performance Metronome
The DTX520K is equipped with a high-performance, programmable metronome made for drummers that allows complicated rhythms and tones to be set.
Impressive Expandability and Upgrades – Add up to Four Pads
The DTX520K gives you peace of mind, too. Even after purchasing the kit, you can expand by adding up to four pads if you want more toms, cymbals or a double-bass configuration. All kinds of upgrades including support for the DTX-PADs are possible.
MIDI Connection Offers More Possibilities
The DTX500 trigger module is equipped with a MIDI output port for connecting the kit to additional devices or a computer* for music production applications. *Computer connection requires MIDI interface (ex: Yamaha UX16 USB-MIDI Interface)
RS500 Ergonomic Rack System with Real Drum Hardware
The RS500 rack for the DTX520K/DTX540K uses curved steel pipes for a compact setup that offers durable stability, and features a ball clamp that lets you precisely position the snare pad.

This electronic drum set features a completely new sound module with 108 quality drum, cymbal, and percussion sounds. Its pads feel great and its hardware and rack system are high quality.
UNMISTAKABLE ALESIS FEEL
Like all Alesis drum sets, the DM6 USB Kit features realistic, natural-feeling playing surfaces. To reduce vibration feedback, we selected natural rubber drum and cymbal surfaces for the DM6 USB Kit’s pads. This five-piece kit gets you started on a dual-zone snare pad for two-sound compatibility. You can dial in a snare drum sound in the center and a rim click, rimshot, or something totally different like a cowbell on the rim!
The DM6 USB Kit also comes with three tom pads, an upright kick drum pad, hi-hat, crash, and ride cymbal pads. It even comes with an Alesis bass drum pedal and the kick pad is compatible with any single or double bass drum pedal for your personal feel.
OUTSTANDING SOUND
The DM6 module features an internal collection of top-notch drum, cymbal, and percussion sounds that will blow you away. You can edit and save your drum kits for custom sounds. You get 10 presets and 5 custom slots. In addition to the sounds in the DM6 module, there’s a USB output that sends the notes you play out as MIDI signal, so you can use the DM6 as a trigger-to-MIDI interface with drum-module software such as BFD, Toontrack, or Reason for a limitless collection of sounds.
The DM6 has headphone and amplifier outputs so you can play quietly in phones or connect up and rock out. You can also connect your iPod or CD player and mix it in with the DM6’s stereo input jack.
PRACTICE TOOLS
The DM6 module has a metronome, an essential tool for keeping steady time whether you’re practicing alone or with a band. The DM6 also has a built-in sequencer with 40 preset music tracks for play along.
RUGGED HARDWARE
A drumset is only as strong as its weakest link. The DM6 USB Kit mounts on a heavy-duty aluminum rack. The standard 1 1/2″ tubing enables you to add on with Alesis and other brands’ clamps and mounts. The kit also comes with a full set of mounting hardware and cables, as well as rugged kick drum and hi-hat pedals.
Get more than you ever thought possible with the DM6 USB Kit.

Roland R8 http://ift.tt/2jwuPiS
One of the very best drum machines ever. It has excellent sounds which can be expanded by adding additional sound cards (808 and 909 cards). Great rock, electronic, ethnic and industrial style drum kits! Most of the sounds are editable – tune, decay, attack, nuance, output, etc…
But its coolest tricks are the Feel Patches which give your program a human-like groove! The sounds are ROM based samples, the R-8 has 32 note polyphony, 68 instruments, 100 patterns and 10 songs! The R-8 later became the R-8mkII with more memory and sounds. It is used by Orbital, Underworld, Jimmy Edgar, Autechre, 808 State, Dave Holmes, Fluke, Human League and The Shamen.
Specs
Polyphony – 32 voices
Sounds – 68 Rom samples
Controls – tune, decay, attack, nuance, output, etc…
Patterns – 100
Songs – 10
Arpeg/Seq – Sequencer
Keyboard – None
Control – MIDI
Date Produced – 1989, R-8 mkII – 1992

Yamaha DTX560K http://ift.tt/2jrIK9M
Because the DTX-PADs provide a feel close to that of acoustic drums they feel comfortable to play, help to improve your drumming technique, and integrate naturally into a hybrid acoustic-electronic kit. The DTX500 module has 427 drum, percussion and effect sounds for any musical situation and offers comprehensive training functions including Groove Check, practice songs, and easy MIDI recording. It is also a very capable MIDI controller for virtual drum instruments.
The DTX560K utilizes the DTX-PAD for the snare, with authentic stick response and ability to play open/closed rim shots essential for snare performance. You also get single-zone DTX-PADs for the toms and floor tom.
The songs of the DTX560K let you play along in different styles with or without the recorded drum track, solo the bass player, or with the full ensemble to make playing fun and practicing seem more like a band rehearsal.
Practical Tools that Improve your Groove
Yamaha’s popular groove tools have set the standard for educational functions that are not only easy and fun to use, but actually help you become a better drummer. The DTX560K has a collection of training functions including the popular Groove Check that displays whether you are playing early or late, so you can more easily correct undesirable habits.
The DTX560K also features our professional 3-zone cymbal pads, which can express a different sound in each of the cup, bow and edge zones. These cymbals have a good stick feel and low acoustic noise, which is essential for electronic drums when used for private practice. In addition to a very natural swaying motion, they also have the “choke” function 360-degrees around the edge.
Real Hi-Hat System that Reproduces Your Every Nuance
The hi-hat system of the DTX560K features a dual-zone trigger pad (for edge and bow sounds) that mounts to the included Yamaha hi-hat stand for realistic pedal action and versatile positioning. Moreover, the hi-hat can express various styles of play such as open/close position, closed pedal and foot splash. You can even play tip and edge voices for adding subtle nuances to the beat!
AUX INPUT Connection to Play Along With Your Favorite Tunes
The DTX560K includes an audio input for connecting an external music player to the module so you can play along with your favorite music, either though the main output or in your headphones, so you can quickly master the piece you want to learn note for note.
Programmable Click Tracks with the Hi-Performance Metronome
The DTX560K is equipped with a high-performance, programmable metronome made for drummers that allows complicated rhythms and tones to be set.
Impressive Expandability and Upgrades – Add up to Four Pads
The DTX560K gives you peace of mind, too. Even after purchasing the kit, you can expand by adding up to four pads if you want more toms, electronic cymbal pads or a double-bass configuration.
The RS500 rack for the DTX560K uses curved steel pipes for a compact setup that offers durable stability, and features a ball clamp that lets you precisely position the snare pad.

Dauz http://ift.tt/2fagYNT
Welcome to the Dauz drum company website. We have been making quality electronic drum pads since 1985. While many companies make electronic pads, kits and modules, we have been dedicated to making proven Road Tested Tough great feeling drum pads that will be maintenance free and last you a lifetime.  Beat them you can’t kill them
Our products have been chosen for some of the biggest tours from Pink Floyd, Rush, Yes, ELP, NIN, KMFDM, Jethro Tull, Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Cirque Du Soleil and many more.
Top players have picked Dauz pads for their touring rigs like Neil Peart, Ricky Lawson, Abe Laborial Jr, Carl Palmer, Chris Vrenna, Omar Hakim, Dennis Chambers, Ed Mann, Chad Wackerman, John Stamos, Ginger Fish, En Esch, Gary Wallace, Nick Mason, Jon Anderson, Pat Mastelotto, Kevin Ricard, John Mahon, Nigel Olssen, Rod Moragnsten, Jonathan ( Sugar Foot) Moffett, Doane Perry, Luis Conte, Mike Manginni, Zachary Alford, and Nick Yueng to name a few.
Some things never change like classic timeless design of a DAUZ drum pad. We have made the same road worthy electronic drum pads for years setting performance and affordability standards. Dauz pads are designed and made by drummers . Product that works no hype, no crap pure utility. We make durable great feeling classic gum rubber drum pads used by discriminating professionals world wide We offer five different pads all of the highest made in USA quality with different feels and sizes for any application. You need to check them out .
Drummers get ready, the future of performance is in your hands. What once was an odd novelty sound effect, has matured into a valuable music making tool. Electronic drums, Computers and MIDI have given drummers the opportunity to express themselves in a cost effective, performance, and studio friendly manner. MIDI devices are part of every studio today, and if you’re involved with a project on a limited budget, a electronic drum kit might just win you the job. Drum trigger units from Alternate Mode, Roland,Alesis,Yamaha, Ion, and others are a great starting point for any electronic drum setup.Add a pad configuration of your choice, giving you a virtually unlimited expressive potential, a small price to pay to turn those years of practice into valuable midi data other musicians can use. This is the real power of electronic drums ; their ability to send and receive data to and from other midi devices . Another bonus of these drum trigger units are, that they sound great right out of the box. With hundreds of sounds, so close to acoustics they might just make Gene Krupa roll over in his grave!
IMPORTANT ELECTRONIC DRUM FEATURES
Electronic drums are comprised of two components the brain or trigger module, and the pads what the user plays on. What is important in a drum pad?
IMPORTANT PAD FEATURES
1)FEEL. A soft natural gum rubber pad will give the best feel, quietest response and a natural rebound (Compare for yourself) A stiff non resilient pad will only hinder your playing and desire to perform.
2)DURABILITY is not far behind feel .Pads should be proven to take abuse and last a lifetime .(What big tours use them? You wont see tours choosing product that doesn’t hold up. )
3)ACCESSIBILITY. Can you get to the parts if a problem occurs or do you have to ship them back to the manufacturer? This is a major issue, there is nothing worse than a broken pad wire you cant get to.
4)MOUNTING. Can you position your pads in any place at any angle? Most manufacturers choose off the shelf acoustic drum hardware giving less flexibility in mounting .Remember electronic drums are not acoustic and have a whole different set of dilemmas in mounting.
5) PAD NOISE. There is nothing more annoying to someone listening to someone bash away at a loud electronic drum set. Kind of defeats a lot of the purpose of playing on pads. Often referred to as the quietest pads around even quieter than mesh heads.
8)PRICE.There isn’t much inside a electronic drum pad. You pay for the design the way it mounts, the way it feels, the way it responds and the reputation of the company who makes them. Use your own judgement .

Yamaha DTX560SP http://ift.tt/2wWD5xh
This kit has all the benefits of the DTX500 module including Yamaha drum samples, play-along songs, and comprehensive groove tools. The DTX-PAD snare provides superior stick feel and allows head, rimshot, and cross-stick voices in each of the three zones for realistic expression. The DTX560SP includes a pad set (DTP700P), drum trigger module (DTX500) and rack system (RS500). Because this configuration does not include cymbals or hi-hat it is perfect when adding electronics to your acoustic kit or for use with the gen16 AE Cymbal box sets. Trigger and audio cables not included.
The DTX560SP utilizes a 3-zone XP80 DTX-PAD for the snare, with single-zone XP70 DTX-PADs for the toms.
The songs of the DTX560SP let you play along in different styles with or without the recorded drum track, solo the bass player, or with the full ensemble to make playing fun and practicing seem more like a band rehearsal.
Practical Tools that Improve your Groove
Yamaha’s popular groove tools have set the standard for educational functions that are not only easy and fun to use, but actually help you become a better drummer. The DTX560SP has a collection of training functions including the popular Groove Check that displays whether you are playing early or late, so you can more easily correct undesirable habits. Rhythm Gate is like a drumming game that automatically mutes the sound if you playing is too far out of time, so you quickly learn to control your groove and play “in the pocket”. Practice has never been this much fun!
AUX INPUT Connection to Play Along With Your Favorite Tunes
The DTX560SP includes an audio input for connecting an external music player to the module so you can play along with your favorite music, either though the main output or in your headphones, so you can quickly master the piece you want to learn note for note.
Programmable Click Tracks with the Hi-Performance Metronome
The DTX560SP is equipped with a high-performance, programmable metronome made for drummers that allows complicated rhythms and tones to be set.
Impressive Expandability and Upgrades – Add up to Seven Pads
The DTX560SP gives you peace of mind, too. Even after purchasing the kit, you can expand by adding up to seven pads if you want more toms, electronic cymbal pads or a double-bass configuration. All kinds of upgrades including support for the DTX-PADs are possible.
RS500 Ergonomic Rack System with Real Drum Hardware
The RS500 rack for the DTX560SP uses curved steel pipes for a compact setup that offers durable stability, and features a Yamaha ball clamp that lets you precisely position the snare pad.
