Chapter 1, complete!

Chapter 2 is actually completely drawn, it just takes forever to color things. Chapter 2 will focus much more heavily on Fionna and the Winter King, since our good dude is sorta. Locked up right now. I'm honestly really excited to explore different relationships in the story, and the different ways in which I feel the Winter King would interact with people.

I've still been brainstorming names for the story, and I think the word 'Echo' is sticking pretty deep with me. I like the idea of it referencing multiple concepts, reflections, recollections of history, parallels... its what I'm leaning most heavily into calling this story.

Also I should probably set up an upload way earlier, but. Nah, I'll just post when I'm done I suppose.

Man Im glad Kosa didnt pass and all but let me tell you how joker-fying it is to rely on another country's decision on what the ENTIRE internet should look like and you can't even do the posturing bit of "calling your reps" because they're NOT your reps, you're simply a neocolonized idiot.

Like I know I'm supposed to be happy but the reality that a law passed in the US would directly affect the platforms I make money, in Brazil, is kind of depressing.

Not that anybody asked, but I think it's important to understand how shame and guilt actually work before you try to use it for good.

It's a necessary emotion. There are reasons we have it. It makes everything so. much. worse. when you use it wrong.

Shame and guilt are DE-motivators. They are meant to stop behavior, not promote it. You cannot, ever, in any meaningful way, guilt someone into doing good. You can only shame them into not doing bad.

Let's say you're a parent and your kid is having issues.

Swearing in class? Shame could work. You want them to stop it. Keep it in proportion*, and it might help. *(KEEP IT IN PROPORTION!!!)

Not doing their homework? NO! STOP! NO NOT DO THAT! EVER! EVER! EVER! You want them to start to do their homework. Shaming them will have to opposite effect! You have demotivated them! They will double down on NOT doing it. Not because they are being oppositional, but because that's what shame does!

You can't guilt people into building better habits, being more successful, or getting more involved. That requires encouragement. You need to motivate for that stuff!

If you want it in a simple phrase:

You can shame someone out of being a bad person, but you can't shame them into being a good person.
