— Is that all? Lay low until the morning paper says something more interesting?

— Do you think it’s better to show your face? I may not be very good at spying, but I’m not waving a red rag in front of a bull, and neither should you.

you came back as the underdog

mcu (wandavision/tfatws) | wanda/bucky | part one 2.5k, mature. After the events of Westview, Wanda’s content to isolate herself away from the rest of the world in Sokovia. Unfortunately for her, Bucky has other plans.

"I want to be there now," he continues, his gaze burning into her profile. "If you’ll let me."

Running her tongue along her teeth, Wanda wipes her fingers hard against the skin beneath her eyes. They come back wet. She looks up at the clear blue sky and runs her hand down the line of her tightening throat. "I don’t need any help."

"I know," he says. His gaze remains set on her profile. "Maybe I need help."

Smiling a small, incredulous smile, she shakes her head and still doesn’t look at him. "I don’t know how to help anyone."

He chuckles. "You think I do?"

Wanda looks at him, her smile widening. Brushing her hair behind her ear, she bites on her bottom lip and looks out to her lake. Even that lacks the answers she seeks.

"Maybe we can learn together," he says, his gaze drops away from her profile for only a moment. Wanda doesn’t look at him despite wanting to. His expression is too hopeful, his heart beating too rapidly. "No pressure, of course."

The therapist asking what their trauma coping mechanisms are and Wanda just saying "I made my own reality based on sitcoms from my childhood to remind me of happier times and in the process took an entire town hostage by accident. But I'm studying a new book that corrupts the mind of whoever reads it so that's fun!". The therapist is like WTF and Bucky's just like "Good on you. Moving past the 7 stages of grief albeit with unorthodox methods but hey, you made it through girl!"

That Thing She Does

SUMMARY: Wanda and Bucky are forced to work together after Sam gets tired of their arguing. They get some things worked out.

WARNINGS: Sexual tension, smut, oral sex, zip ties

This was just written on a whim. I didn’t have a beta for this. All mistakes are mine. All characters are Marvel.

Chapter 1

If Bucky Barnes wasn’t the cause of her next hostile takeover of a town, it would shock Wanda. He’d done nothing but get under her skin for months now. He was a lot nicer when he still could be programmed to kill, which says a lot about how annoying he was. Now Sam was sick of the two of them fighting and sent them to work on something neither wanted to do. He thought Wanda should be able to lift Bucky in those circumstances when he couldn’t jump where he needed to be. Or the next time he fell off something. The man had absolutely no grace from what she could see. He could take out five enormous men, but if one of them breathed too hard on him and Bucky was near the edge of something, down he went. It was embarrassing.

Sam was going to pay for doing this to her. She’d make him have nightmares of all of his worst fears for weeks. As she lifted Bucky off the ground for the one hundredth time today, he once again freaked out.

“I felt that Maximoff!” he yelled down to her as he fought with her energy line.

Normally that wouldn’t matter, but her being annoyed so much seemed to allow him to struggle a bit. Which only annoyed her further. “What did you feel, Bucky? Getting another day older? I would have thought you’re used to that. You know, Steve and I did this all the time and he could do it the first day.” When he growled at her, she let him fall. He was only about fifteen feet in the air at that point, so he didn’t even land on his ass, which had been her goal. Those three times he did would be forever in her memory books.
