Busta Rhymes feat. Kelly Rowland & Missy Elliott “Get It”: Superbowl triple striker

I have a REALLY good ear, especially when it comes to music and vocals. When I 1st heard Kelly’s vocals on this track, the 1st thing that came to my mind is her track that released years ago, “Smooches.” Back then (2010 to be exact), if I remember correctly, the track was supposed to be her single. However, there was much controversy because it was also said by Teyana Taylor herself that it was supposed to be her single, and TeTe felt like K had stole her track. She was upset and let it be known. The track ended up being neither artist’s single.

Back to the song, the way the vocals were done for her part, instantly reminded me of “Smooches.” The vocal style was very similar. So I went back to “Smooches,” and I was right. To my surprise, not only was the vocal style the same, but so was the actual lyrical line. “Get it get it get it get it, flip it, tip it, tip it, pimpin.” If you listen to “Smooches,” around 2:27–2:30, she sings the same exact thing. I’m not sure if they decided to clip that part of that song, and decided to have it mastered. Or maybe they heard the song back then, and decided they wanted Kelly to redo it for the track. Regardless, it’s genius and super infectious!

I’m so happy Kelly is on this track, in the likes of TWO legends. Despite my disdain for Busta and his hate for the gay community (this was expressed some years ago), he is a PHENOMENAL rapper, one of the best of all time. He was one of my favorite rappers. His role in the Superbowl commercial describe perfectly how I feel about him and Missy as artist and rappers. Like Blaze Doritos, he has that Fire erupting apocalyptic blazing flow and style. He gives you those 5th degree burns. He raps extremely fast, but her precise. Missy, is my favorite female rapper. Missy isn’t the quickest rapper, and as an artist she has this kind of sick, chill, ice-cold, galactic, Michael Jackson thriller, flow and style. It may not hit you right then, but before you notice, hypothermia, and then you’re frozen alive. Silent, but deadly. That kind of Pharrell effect. He’s extremely unique, but very chill. Like this quiet rebellion, and uniqueness. They stand still, and still stick out. Every part of this song is dope and unique. The bars, the swag, the production, and Kelly’s unique swaggerific, sassy vocals are just glue that just makes every stick, so sickly undeniable. The Mother Goose laying,Willy Wonka, Golden ticket egg.

Kelly’s voice voice is so unique, and versatile. She deserves to be in the likes of Legends because she in my opinion is one of the top 5 performers of our generation, and her vocals have grown TREMENDOUSLY since DC3 days. She definitely is a multi-faceted threat, and deserves to be held in the likes of the Beyonce’s and Rihanna’s of the world, along with other performers like Ciara, Ameriie, and Jessie J.

10 Reasons Why Women Settle For Negative Relationships

So after watching this video that spawned the hash tag #HurtBae, I thought it was appropriate to talk about this topic. I’ve seen a lot of people calling her stupid and this and that but as a woman who’s gone through it, I can personally understand why she did what she did. It’s not always something that’s directly on the surface but sometimes it’s deeper than that so I’m going to break it down to you guys why women do this and this can go for absolutely anything. Whether they’ve been cheated on or even mentally or physically abused because all of it falls under these same ten reasons.

Reason #1: We Genuinely Love You

When someone genuinely loves you, they’ll do anything for you. We’ll put ourselves through hell just because you mean that much to us to ever lose you even when we know you don’t deserve it.

Reason #2: We Get Tired Of Fighting

Sometimes enough is just enough and we just don’t want to fight anymore. When you’ve gone through so much bullshit in your life, sometimes you just give up and start believe that all men are the same so you just accept what you got because what’s the point in starting over with someone new if the same thing is just going to keep happening over and over again?

Reason #3: We Don’t Believe We Deserve Better

Harsh reality but it’s the truth. You may have heard the saying that people accept the love that they feel they deserve and in this situation it can’t be any truer.

Reason #4: We Have Faith You’ll Change

Y’all know how it goes. Sometimes we honestly get manipulated into believing they’ll change so we put up with because we’ve been told that it won’t happen again and because we love you (refer to reason 1) and we trust you, we’ll believe you over and over again.

Reason #5: Good Sex

I hate to say this reason but unfortunately it’s the truth and I’m not innocent to either. Sometimes when the sex is that good it can make you stay in a negative situation for a long time and make you believe it’s worth it to stick it out. It’s a difficult spot to be in and I know there’s a lot of women who know exactly what I’m talking about. #DTB

Reason #6: Longevity

When you’ve known somebody a long time, it makes it so much harder to leave them because we don’t know what it’s like to live our lives without them. You know there insides and their outsides and when you know someone that deep it builds an attachment to them so it’s not always as easy to let go as one may think.

Reason #7: We Make Excuses

Love is very blind and sometimes we look past all their flaws to try to see the bigger picture even if it’s a mistake but again because we love you, it’s a mistake we’re willing to make.

Reason #8: We Get Manipulated

There will be times when we will call them out on their bullshit but sometimes the tables get turned on us and we wind up feeling stupid because they’ll call us crazy, or tell us we’re stupid and then we start to question ourselves, wondering if maybe they’re right.

Reason 9: The Honeymoon Phase

For a brief while things get better and we believe they won’t ever hurt us again. They make the changes we wish to see in them and so we believe they’ve changed and are willing to work things out.

Reason 10: Men Lie

The number one reason why women stay in these relationships is because men lie. They tell us they’ll change, they’ll tell us they’re sorry, and because we love you, like I said in reason one, we’ll believe you like a fool every single time.

As women, our love gets taken advantage of way more than often and men see this as an excuse to do whatever they want to us because they believe we’ll still be there but ladies this behavior in us has to change. We have to look at the core root ourselves and determine our own worth before we ever let a man place a value over our heads because we are worth so much more than to settle for a man who at the end of the day truly does not care.

On another note #HurtBae is extremely gorgeous and the guy that cheated on her truly did not deserve her. I really hope that one day she finds someone better who will value her in the way that she deserves.

Speedin’ Bullet To Cudi: Part II

So since it’s coming up on the year anniversary of how this story even got started in the first place, I’m deciding to release this today. I wasn’t sure if there was ever going to be another part to this but after getting an unlikely idea from a member of the CudFam, I came up with this. In this story I really interact with Cudi this time and I mean REALLY lol so I hope all you guys who decide to read it enjoy the vibe.

So a year later goes by and I hadn’t seen Cudi since the concert. Every day after his new album dropped I kept helplessly waiting for him to announce another tour or anything but nothing was happening. It was almost as if Cudi had dropped his album and completely disappeared until this one day I was scrolling down my Facebook page and I saw this ad for this contest. The winner got to spend a whole day with Cudi and as soon as I read that, I was doing everything not to lose my shit. We had a chance to enter the contest every day and I didn’t miss not one opportunity. I sent in entries for it ever freaking day until the contest was over and when the last day came, I looked on the page to find out that I had won and at first I really didn’t know how to react to it because I didn’t want to believe it was true. I checked my email to confirm it and it confirmed what I’d saw, telling me I had to confirm or deny and I confirmed so fast that I didn’t even think about it. Then I got another email telling me that someone would be in contact with me soon for more details and so the waiting began. I waited and I waited and at first it seemed like I wouldn’t ever hear anything back from them until one day, I mysteriously heard a knock on my door. I was in the house by myself, still practically in my pajamas, and I wasn’t expecting anybody so I wasn’t thinking anything of it. I went to the door and I asked who it was and in the whitest voice I’d ever heard, they said, “It’s the police, open up!” Huh? I said to myself confused. Why would the police be at my door? I hadn’t done anything wrong or at least I didn’t think I did so I opened up the door and then much to my surprise I see Cudi standing there with the biggest grin on his face, wearing those red steampunk glasses, I’d become obsessed with and my heart immediately hit the floor. “Hey what’s up man? You Rashad?” He says to me and for a moment I practically forgot how to speak. “Cudi? What are you doing here?” I said shakily. He laughed and said, “You won the contest man! What, you’re not glad to see me?”

I stammered and said, “No! It’s not that – I just-“

“Ha ha, relax man! I’m only fucking with you.” He said. “So you gonna let me in or what?”

“Yeah – yeah! Definitely” I said. So I let him in and almost immediately he made himself right at home as he came in and plopped down on my sofa. That’s when he took off his shades and said, “Sorry to catch you off guard like that but seein’ that look on your face was priceless.”

I laughed nervously and said, “Nah it’s cool! Feel free to pop in on me any time you want!”

“Alright now, be careful.” He said pointing at me. “I might just take you up on that. So you stay here by yourself or what?”

“Nah but my roomates out of town.” I said. “So I guess for right now I do.”

“Oh okay cool.” He said. “So how do you plan on entertaining me today?”

I laughed and said, “What? You showed up at my door remember?”

“All the more reason for you to entertain me.” He said laughing. “You’re the one that entered that contest, you can’t tell me you haven’t at least thought of something?”

“I mean no, not really.” I said laughing. “I really didn’t think I was gonna win.”

“So, what? You just thought we’d wing it?” He said as he chuckled.

“Basically.” I said laughing. “Besides it’s not exactly like I’m dressed for the occasion.”

“Well can we at least order a pizza or somethin’? Cause I’m hungry as fuck.” He said.

I laughed and said, “Yeah man, we can do that.”

So I call up the pizza place and as I’m on the phone Cudi kept yelling out random things to add to the order. At first he told me to ask them if they had fries and when I told them they did, he told me to add on an order of fries. Then he’s asking me if they got wings and when I told him they did, he asked me to add on a order wings and in my head I’m just like, oh my god when will he stop? Then I asked him how many and he said ten so I asked him what kind and he said buffalo, so I ordered ten buffalo wings. Then just as I’m about to finish the order he tells me to add on a soda and I was so close to strangling him. When I finally hung up the phone I laughed and said, “You better be paying for all this.” He looked at me confused and said, “What?! Nigga I thought you was payin’!” I said, “You know what, you’re lucky I love you because otherwise I would kill you right now.” He laughed and said, “Relax man, you know I got it. Jesus man, can’t you take a joke?” Sarcastically I said,“Yeah yeah, very funny.” After the food came, we decided kick back and watch a movie while we ate. Since he picked the food, he let me choose the movie and I decided on Kill Bill Volume One. Since Cudi and I both had seen it quite a few times, it wound up just becoming background noise while we ate and made conversation. I was trying not to look like a fat ass in front him by not eating so much but Cudi was eating more than I was and he even made fun of me because of it. He was like, “Man you playin’!” He even offered me the last slice of pizza but I told him I was full but by that point I was. He asked me if I was sure and after I made it clear I was fine, he scooped it right out the box and I couldn’t help but chuckle at him because he literally ate everything. As I sat there I couldn’t believe I was actually sitting there sharing a pizza with the man who had practically saved my life. All of it was so surreal and I couldn’t even wrap my head around it as it all just seemed way too good to be true. I never thought anything would ever top me going to his concert the year before but this had definitely took the cake. That’s when I wondered if he even remembered meeting me that night but I was almost too afraid to ask. While he was chowing down on the last slice of pizza, I decided to ask and my heart was racing like crazy. “So do you remember that show you did here last year?” I asked nervously.

“The one at Echostage?” He said, as he swallowed his pizza. “Yeah, why? Were you there?”

Great, he doesn’t remember me. I said to myself.

“Yeah, I was in the front row.” I said.

“Oh word? That’s whats up!” He said. “Did you enjoy the show?”

“Yeah man, it was amazing.” I said. “Probably one of the best concerts I’ve ever gone to.”

He scuffed and said, “One of? Nah man, I’m fuckin’ with you but thanks man I really appreciate that.”

“I don’t know if you remember or not but I kinda met you after the show that night.” I said.

“You did?” He said almost surprised but as I started to explain to him how he said, “Wait…Were you that kid I let get through security that night?”

I laughed and said, “Yeah that was me.”

“Oh shit man! It’s good to see you!” He said. “I shoulda known it was you when they told me your name but I honestly ain’t think nothin’ of it.”

I laughed and said, “Nah man, it’s cool. I almost thought you forgot about me.”

“Nigga I ain’t smoke that much weed.” He said laughing. “Shit or maybe I did, I’on know.”

“You almost got me in trouble at that show though man.” I said.

“Me?!” He said confused. “Nigga how?”

“Man I don’t know! This guy just started grinding on me out of nowhere!” I said. “I didn’t know what the fuck to do!”

He laughed and said, “Get the fuck outta here yo. That’s crazy!”

“You’re tellin’ me.” I said. “Nigga I swore we were gonna kiss at one point.”

He laughed and said, “And so what if y’all did?”

“That’s the thing man, I don’t know!” I said. “I knew he was probably drunk as fuck though.”

“Well you know what they say man, when you drunk that’s when your truth shows the most.” He said. “I don’t know man, maybe you shoulda went for it and saw what happened.”

“Nigga are you crazy? What if he whooped my ass? Then what?” I said as he laughed. “Besides man, I’m not gay or anything like that.”

He laughed and said, “Who said anything about you bein’ gay? I mean I’ve kissed dudes before, that shit doesn’t make me gay.”

“Yeah man but that was for a movie, this was real life.” I said. “Besides I didn’t want to risk getting kicked out of your show if we ended up fighting.”

“Nah I wouldna done that.” He said. “I’d have made y’all kiss and make up.”

“You real funny.” I said as he fell over laughing.

“I’m serious though.” He said as he sat up. “I mean honestly you sound kinda curious to me.”

“I mean I’ve thought about it but like I said man it’s not my thing.” I said. I couldn’t believe how honest I was being with him. Not even my closest friends who knew me knew I had thoughts like that but something about Cudi just made me feel comfortable in a way like I’d never felt before.

“Well how would you know unless you’ve tried it?” He asked.

“Because I just know okay!” I said adamantly. “What was it like when you did it?”

“If I’m really being honest with you, I could probably show you more than I can tell you but I ain’t tryna freak you out or nothin’.” He said. “Especially if you homophobic.”

“No man, not at all.” I said.

“Ai’ight then come here.” He said as he sat up on the couch and I froze.

“You mean right now?” I said nervously.

He sucked his teeth and said, “Come on nigga I ain’t got all day.”

I laughed as I got up and said, “Technically, you do.”

“Nigga shut the fuck up and sit down.” He said trying not to laugh. I sat down next to him on the couch and then he scooted over closer to me. He took his hand and put it behind my head and said, “A’iight nigga don’t go fallin’ in love wit’ me after this shit a’iigt?” I laughed and said, “Man shut the fuck up! You gonna do it or what?” He laughed and said, “Slow down grasshopper. Just a minute ago you was ackin’ all scared and shit and now you tryna rush me?”

“Dude come on, stop playin’.” I said laughing. “You making it weird.”

“A’iight man, come here.” He said. Then suddenly, he started pulling me in closer to him but before he went any further, he stopped and said, “This ain’t your first kiss or nun’ is it?”

“CUDI!” I screamed out in aggravation.

“Alright-alright-alright.” He said after being put under pressure. Then he leaned into me and kissed me and as soon as his lips met mine, I immediately saw fireworks. What the fuck is going on? I said to myself. Am I actually enjoying this shit? Does this make me gay now? Were all questions that were going through my head. His lips were just so soft and oh fuck I sound gay but they were and as much as I wanted to fight it, I simply couldn’t resist it. He kissed me so long it was almost on the verge of us making out while Kill Bill was still on in the background. It was the craziest fucking thing I’d ever done in my life and as much as I hate to admit it, I kind of liked it a whole lot more than I thought I would. That’s when Cudi pulled back and said, “How was that?”

“Fucking amazing.” I said, not even aware of what I was saying. “I mean-��

He laughed and said, “A’iight nigga don’t you be tellin’ people I made you gay or some shit now!” But the crazy thing was, I think maybe I was long before he even kissed me but maybe I just didn’t realize it until that moment. Or maybe I was just gay for him, I don’t fucking know but fuck… I didn’t know what the fuck I was feeling but man I was so fucking confused…
