So what have I been doing while I haven't posted any mittens in a while? I've been consumed by lace again.

This is a Monica's Shawl that I knitted while on vacation but I bought too much yarn and had a whole skein left. So I frogged it and redid it on longer needles with one extra pattern repeat at the end. Now we just need to wait four years for me to get around to blocking it.

I never want to frog laceweight again.

I have descended into fiber hell, aka spinning my own wool yarn. Next step is buying an alpaca. No idea how that'll fit in my apartment but I'm sure I can convince my roommates.

Your twist escaped and went to bedevil somebody whose project was not supposed to be twisted.

alas i do not have pictures as proof but i wanted to share. i was 10 rows deep on a project in the round that has an intentional twist, like a mobius strip. it was twisted like it should have been, then after one row it was suddenly untwisted. i do not know what i did, but i broke physics.

I was browsing Ravelry, as ya do, and I noticed that Audrey Borrego has made all her patterns free because she's no longer designing professionally. I've only made one sweater she designed (the Atlantica originally published in PomPom), but I remember enjoying knitting it, and she's got some neat lace and color work patterns you might want to check out because, I mean, free now!
