The RSF massacred at least 31 civilians in a field execution in the city of Omdurman last week on April 27th. Children were among the victims. 

They were murdered because the RSF suspected them to be allies of SAF. The RSF has killed hundreds of other innocent civilians in similar massacres based on the very same claim. All without any evidence to prove any ties these people supposedly had to SAF. Even if they were affiliated with SAF, that still would not justify murdering them in the streets. There is nothing that could ever justify that. 

Due to the lack of international accountability and action to prevent funding to the RSF, their forces have been able to continue wreaking havoc on Sudanese communities for over 2 years now (though the start of their reign of terror began in 2003 with the Darfur Genocide, one they are carrying out to this very day). Civilians trapped in areas under RSF control are not only cut off from aid, but they also face the dangers of abduction, rape, looting, and execution. 

The Balla family is one of the many families living with these fears daily. They are currently trapped in Omdurman, the very same town where the latest reported execution took place. Any of them could be killed next if they are not able to gather the resources they need to escape to a safer area.

They have been trying to relocate since January, but travel is expensive due to the price of fuel and the risks drivers put themselves in to transport people. They need to be able to leave at the next safest opportunity.

I used to hate you so much but I love you now platonically.

A few stupid headcanons I have: Hemera is really fond of invertebrates, especially long, segmented ones like centipedes, millipedes, firefly larvae, etc.!

Even if stem knows stem probably won’t see them 95% of the time, he loves keeping them so he can make them enclosures and terrariums that are mansions to them. He uses his tech skills to give enclosures day/night light cycles, automatic misters, and waterfall systems, as well as just going all out with the plants, rocks, moss, and decor.

His favourite centipede species is Scolopendra viridis.

He has a branch thing coming out of his tail. What it is I haven’t decided.

Stem wants to make a little robotic centipede thingie. It’d skitter around and bring pruning scissors or other items when needed
