Star Wars has many characters throughout the galaxy that transcends time itself. Unfortunately, Disney lacks the capability of using them. One such character is Kyle Katarn. Unfortunately, Kyle is now regulated to legends material. Still, at one point, he was the face of the expanded universe, which spawned various comic books and video games, All the way to the early '90s to the mid-2010s. This list will showcase a variety of Kyle Katarn's exploits that demonstrate how much of a badass he is and why he should be in Disney-era Star wars.

Friends with everybody: Among the ranks of the rebellion is a star-studded cast Lando Han Leia Luke Chewbacca. It just so happens that Kyle is friends with all of them. While employed as a new Republic mercenary for the rebellion, he has crossed paths and even aided most if not all of the major players within Star wars in some capacity. The best part about having big-name friends is that he isn't far away if there ever is a time when they require aid.

Has worn many hats: Kyle has worn many metaphorical hats as far as occupations go, Farmer, engineering student, stormtrooper, pilot, mercenary, even a Jedi. One could view this as being indecisive; however, Kyle has good reasons for job-hopping because of various plot reasons. He even retains and regularly uses all of his knowledge and skills from his multiple employments. He's even fluent in the language of binary, also known as Droidspeak. This level of versatility, as well as his problem-solving skills, makes him a valuable ally.

Actually hit his target: the old age joke about stormtrooper's aim unfortunately persists. This is not the case with Kyle. Even though he went to the academy as an engineering student, he is a fully trained infantryman while on his Omega mission, a mandatory assignment that tests cadet's leadership skills. He surpassed his peers and won the medal of valor after rebels overran his posting. He even managed to save his squad from an incoming attack due to his force sensitivity.

Did I mention he was a Jedi: One of the proverbial hats that Kyle wears and still maintains to this day is his rank as battle master someone who has mastered all forms of lightsaber combat as a Jedi Kyle had to train diligently to obtain this since his original start as a force wielder was less than glamorous, but he's more than willing to listen to constructive criticism as he is received tutelage from various Jedi including Luke Skywalker Kyle even went on to train his own students

His views on the force: Kyle has very pragmatic views on the force. He believes that no force power is innately evil and depends entirely on the user. As such, Kyle can tap into various dark side abilities and does so without corrupting or falling to the dark side. As a result, this makes him highly versatile and powerful but still realistic since he has to struggle to maintain the balance within himself as he walks the metaphorical line between light and dark as a gray Jedi

Practical usage of weapons: Kyle also has very pragmatic views on weapon choice because of his expertise in various blasters and explosives and his mastery of lightsaber combat and force power abilities. He's highly flexible and can use multiple tools like shield generators and remote droids to aid him in his missions. He often employs a dual-wielding tactic, usually a blaster in one hand and a lightsaber in the other, not to mention his mastery of the force.

He stole the Death Star plans: I'm sure many people are familiar with rogue One with its depiction of how the Death Star plans were obtained, however back in the early 90s, what is now considered legends material or pre-Disney era, as a defector of the empire and now an upstart mercenary for the Republic he was sent to the planet Danuta with the help of Jan Ors was able to infiltrate the facility effortlessly and was able to obtain the memory matrix that contained the plans.

Chuck Norris with a lightsaber: There are many Star Wars characters, all who have contributed in some fashion or another to the greater whole of the galaxy, but none have ever reached the meme status of Kyle Katarn. Many memes found on the internet often depict and greatly exaggerate the fantastic exploits of Kyle slightly,Kyle Katarn is the Chuck Norris of Star Wars, Kyle once through a thermal detonator and killed 50 stormtroopers, then the detonator exploded, as one hilarious meme would explain.

Mobile Suit Gundam, a staple name in the anime industry for 43 years that helped not only revolutionize the Mecha genre but anime in general, created by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Sunrise, The popularity of the series and its merchandise spawned a franchise that includes TV series, films, OVAs, manga, novels, and video games, along with a whole industry of model kits known as Gunpla, With a well-respected IP, such as this also influenced many character archetypes throughout all of anime, this list is to propose the anime characters that I feel would make great additions to Gundam.

Vash the Stampede: he was ranked one of the top protagonists in anime in the '90s. He possesses extraordinary fighting capabilities and an inhuman level of precision eyesight. Despite his combat prowess, he's a pacifist, a perfect marriage of goofball and seriousness. His combat skills would transfer perfectly into the Gundam Pantheon of main characters. His inhuman level of precision aim would allow him to hit his targets without killing them. Vash displays the admirable trait of fighting for the sake of others before himself.

Himura Kenshin: Kenshin, much like Vash, is also a pacifist. He is a veteran soldier who has seen the horrors of war and vowed to walk the pacifist path. As a swordsman of the Meiji era Kenshin is exceptionally proficient in close quarters encounters, often pitted against new-age technology such as firearms of the time Kenshin can dispatch his foes with lightning-quick precision, and doing so without killing his opponents, he would mentor the newer generation in hopes bringing a better future for everyone.

Gene Starwind: Gene Starwind entrepreneur, Jack of all trades, who is also the captain of the aptly named starship OutlawStar, possesses a highly flexible skillset and can take on virtually any task, either solo or within a team. He would be the first choice for any leadership position

Gene has zero qualms about killing as a soldier of fortune, especially if the people he cares about are in danger. Gene Starwind never turns down an opportunity to make money as a businessman amongst the stars.

Suzaku Kururugi: Suzaku is a soldier and possesses proficient skills as a Knightmare pilot holds many conflicting idealistic views depending on circumstances, often has changes in attitude and character despite this, he's a determined loyal man whose ultimate goal is peace as a competent leader of the knights of One, he fights in an attempt to change the government from within, displaying practical skills with his machine earning him the nickname white reaper, sharing similar character traits of Gundam protagonist, his transition into the lore would be seamless

Spike Spiegel: was voted number one male protagonist in the '90s. He is a practitioner of Jeet Kune do and a follower of many of Bruce Lee's philosophies. As a bounty hunter and talented pilot of his custom Starfighter, the swordfish 2, as a former gang member of the Red Dragons, he is an expert in firearms and explosives, often seen with a laid-back nonchalant slothful demeanor tormented by his past. However, his love of fighting makes him a formidable force.
