Introducing my HL OC: Amelie Voss

Ummm idk how to introduce her... how about a quick get to know summary? Sure. (I'll improve this one day somehow)

So here's the basics:

Amelie Voss is sole heir to the Voss family, a noble family ranked decently well, and her specific family is well set, as her father is the youngest and practically guarenteed to not having any claim over the family company. So, her parents became rather flippant and careless people who only a child for the thrill of it. Once they were bored... well, Amelie got thrown out to her grandparents at Pitt-Upon-Ford. That was until her maternal grandparenrs died when she was rather young. While her parents gave her the house her grandparents stayed in, they only ever checked in by sending letters once a month.

Left to fend for herself, Amelie grew up fast. To keep her and the infant Kneazle she kept fed, she resorted to pickpocketing and other... not very legal means. Though, a certain woman named Bernadette did find her pitiful enough and took Amelie under her wing, making sure she never got her hands too dirty. Amelie simply did some of the physical labor while being doted on and taught by her. Also has seen and was taught a lot of dark magic but ehhhheheh thats probably no big deal

She gets accepted into hogwarts, woah ancient magic neat, the story proceeds, she meets 2 slytherin boys and animagus girl, alsp gets a crush on a cute hufflepuff girl, yada yada... not much changes here tbh

And after hogwarts her and Ominis get into a mutual lavender marriage since 1) theyre both nobility so their families wont complain 2) theyre friends anyways why not be roommates and so Ominis and Sebastian are together because they basically already were an old married couple and Amelie gets to be with Poppy and everyones happy yayyyy

Fun facts:

Amelie is very much autistic but its the 1800s so not much help there.

Constantly overstimulated all the time theyre screaming on the inside like 24/7. 25/8 even.

Averse to physical touch, but likes weight and pressure to calm down so instead she likes to sink in the water. Water is pressure and sometimes cold sometimes warm and mmm. Touch grass? No she must go to the SEA. She needs to be in the WATER.

Mentioned earlier but she has a little Kneazle thats her best friend. His name is Marquis and he's just a brainless baby and Amelie loves him and snuck him into the ROR once it was open to her.

Writes letter to Bernadette whenever she has a problem ever. She's seen writing letters to her a lot, but never tells anyone who she's writing too...

Probably more i forgot

Ok yeah. Cool. I will make a better one and some fics eventually but I just needed her out into the world (i'll also get an ingame screenshot eventually but i havent been able to get on in a while but trust it is coming)

Show me the way her breath stutters, the way her vision blurs at the edges, how her arms feel like lead but she still lifts them anyway. Show me the taste of blood on her tongue, the sharp sting when she wipes it away.  

A fight isn’t just fists and kicks, it’s instinct. It’s mistakes. It’s the split second where she moves left instead of right, and pain explodes across her ribs. It’s the way she grits her teeth, forces herself to stay standing, even when her legs threaten to buckle. 

People don’t announce their next move. They don’t think in long sentences. It’s breathless. It’s now. It’s move or lose. Make your readers feel every hit, every heartbeat, every desperate second she fights to stay on her feet.

Due to his condition, I don't imagine Ominis could play "active boy games" much. So instead he would sit quietly with Noctua and help her with little tasks, something he feels he can do on his own.

Just how much angst is this going to set up for their relationship.

Because everything Nova endured was abuse, be it by the Renegades or the Anarchists. And for Adrian to insist that she is a Renegade (part of the organization that let her down and regularly made her life miserable) after her mother figure just tried to torture her to death is…not just out of touch, but also very out of character (Adrian was just as much of an “anarchist” and Nova, you can fight me on this).

You’re not wrong about a government being oppressive just because you benefited from it like one time.

Ok.

Now about Adrian;

I hated that Marissa had him say this, okay? Adrian’s arc is that he recognizes more and more how corrupt and oppressive their government was, and the more he comes to terms with this the more he starts acting like an anarchist which blurs the like between good and evil for him.

And then for him to act so freaking weird during Supernova is insane and shows just how much importance Marissa gave his character.

In the beginning of the book there’s a line about how “he was starting to understand why the council put the codes in place more and more”…

Like wtf? No he wasn’t. Why would he?

In the same book he calls the council a dictatorship, moves Max to live with Ruby’s family, and calls the council out for wanting to execute Nightmare just to shut Genissa Clark up.

And he continues to don the sentinel suit even when he doesn’t really need to. Those are not the actions of someone who thinks the Renegades are the heroes.

So for him to go from

“In those moments, he was forced to question who the real villains were.”

To

“Of course, we’re Renegades”

“The Renegades will come for me, maybe they’re already here”

And the line mentioned at the beginning of the post is some of the worst character assassination i’ve seen in a while.

Like we’ve talked about Nova, but somehow this is even worse to me.
