Like It’s Nothing
“You should just tell her.”
There was no surprise as to who it was trying to catch Byul off her guard but her ninja senses felt it coming. Still, Wheein’s husky whisper made her ears tingle and she had to shrug Wheein’s remark off.
“Tell who what?” Byul rolled her eyes at Wheein.
“Don’t pretend like you don’t know.”
Byul let out a sigh of defeat. “Of course, nothing gets past you.”
“Well to be honest even the blind can see the way you look at her from across a crowded room,” Wheein teased, a devilish smirk slowly creeping onto her face.
“That makes no sense whatsoever.”
“You know what I mean. Anyway, my point is are you going to keep gawking at her or are you going to do something about it?”
Byul pretended to think for a few seconds and then responded with a sarcastic “I’ll just keep gawking, thanks.”
“Oh come on,” Wheein puched Byul on the arm. “You know she’s always flirting with you too.”
“That’s not flirting, that’s just-”
“Just what?”
“Just… joking around. I mean you and Hyejinie do that too.”
“News flash, we’re flirting.”
“You’re what?!”
Wheein turned towards the youngest member of the group. “Hyejin-ah!”
“What?!” Hyejin shouted back from her chair at the opposite end of the room.
“Get your butt over here for a sec.”
“For a… what?!”
“I said for a second! Get your head out of the gutter.”
“It’s not my fault you don’t enunciate.”
The little banter between the two younger members made Byul laugh like they always do.
“So what’s up?” Hyejin asked as she joined the other two in conversation.
“Okay, when you and I joke and insult each other and make fun of each other, what are we actually doing?” Wheein asked Hyejin very directly.
“What kind of ques-”
But before Byul could even finish her sentence, Hyejin answered without even batting an eye. “Flirting”
“How could you have possibly known what she was asking with that question?” Byul asked, although it was less of a question and more of an accusation that they were conspiring against her.
Hyejin chuckled. “Do not underestimate Wheesa”
“Still that doesn’t prove anything.” Byul replied indignantly.
“What doesn’t prove anything?”
The three had not even noticed that Yongsun had snuck up behind them.
“Nothing, babe. We’re just kidding around.” Byul answered quickly before either of the other two girls could say anything.
“Wait, what did you just call her?” Both Wheein and Heyjin had heard it but Wheein was the quicker of the two to react.
“What do you mean?” Byul realized she had let it slip but was determined to play it coy.
Wheein and Hyejin looked at each other then towards Byul and Yongsun, convinced that they were definitely being played.
“Okay well they need us up front so you guys better finish getting ready,” Yongsun replied nonchalantly.
She turned towards the exit but just before she left, she turned back around once again.
“Babe, are you coming?”
