I think I have a Plant Obsession
I think I have a Plant Obsession
49 Plants and counting…
You may think I’m kidding, but in fact I’m not, and I live in a <700 sq. ft. condo with my boyfriend. Now I can’t take credit for all of the plants, some are his, but the majority are mine. I believe at this time the oldest plant I have is 5 years old and is a Bamboo Palm, followed by my Desert Rose Cacti Bonsai. My most recent plant is a Dumb Cane.
🌱 Let’s see if I can…

This was a short little day-trip getaway for David and I. His sister was having a baby shower in Wrightsville Beach NC. We made a quick stop to Target just before getting there. Last minute purchases but we really didn’t have much time the week before because of work.
They were having the shower at a friends house that had lots of space, and boy were they right when they said that. First I drove up to a gated driveway, passed a REAL treehouse with a climbing wall, passed a $80,000 + driving RV, passed a “storage” barn the size of a house, then finally arrived at the main house. It was beautiful! They had an additional cottage out back, their own putting green/driving range, a California King swinging bed on their back porch and their own private dock. Lets just say dream house!
After getting some mimosas and waiting on the food to be finished we took a little tour around the property and down to the pier. I manage to take a few good explorer shots while I was out there.
Jellyfish!
I got a few good shots of david out by the water too.
I also found a neat little glass bottle with star imprints in it. They apparently have glass wash up all the time out there, some fairly new and some super old. I don’t have the best photo of the bottle right now but you can see it in the picture below.
When it came time for the gifts I didn’t think I was going to cry but I was wrong. I NEVER cry but I just lost it when david’s mom’s gift was opened. She HAND MADE a mobile of ribbon and butterflies to hang over the crib and it was just amazing. I’m really excited and happy for them both, I know they will be great parents.
Fast Forward and Ella is here!

Bromeliads and repotting pups
Bromeliads and repotting pups
Lets get nerdy for a second and talk plants, more specifically Bromeliads. They are part of the Bromeliacea family. Bromeliads can adapt to various climates and have an array of different shapes and colors. It’s foliage can be broad to needle-thin, symmetrical to irregular, flat, soft AND spiky. While Bromeliads have roots, they actually gather most of their water by collecting it in the center…

My First Concert in Years!
So this was my first concert in about 4 years. The last one I went to was in Rock Hill, NC when I saw Clean Bandit on tour. It’s also the first time LIGHTS has come this far down south. I saw her a few years back in Charlotte NC in her las tour.
The main band was WALK THE MOON but I was really going to see LIGHTS, and just saw the main band as a perk. Don’t get me wrong, they were super good but I was most excited for Lights.
My friend Christine saw an Instagram post about her visiting a comic book shop before the concert and found out which one. So WE basically got to do a meet-and-greet for free! The line wasn’t too long because not a lot of people knew about it. I got to talk with her and blabber about how her music helped me a lot in High School with her first album. I was also able to buy a copy of her comic series and get her to sign it, and also sign a shirt I got from her first concert.
After we left the comic book store and got in the car I looked at David and said, “I have no recolection of what I said to her” because I was THAT excited. I do have more photos from the meet-and-greet but it’s mainly me using my hand to talk and making wierd faces while I talked. So I thought I’d spare you the agony of seeing that.
At this point you may be wondering what her music is like so here is a music video from her newest album.
Fast forward to the concert that night, we may or may not have pregammed before the concert. Some of us a little too hard (Christine) but lets just say we were pumped up for the show.
Sadly I don’t have any photos of Lights preforming but I do have a great shot of Walk the Moon. I know a lot of people just record videos or take tons of photos at shows but I’d rather not be hooked to my phone the whole time and just enjoy the show. I do however have some shots of her at her concert from before.
I can say that BOTH of these bands were great live. Great on stage, great presence and they both showed that they love music and preforming (not all bands/artists do).
Side note, the lead singer of Walk the Moon is SO SUAVE. He danced some on stage, did the moon walk at one point and it was just effortless. They also use a cowbell in a good portion of their songs, which I never knew, so it was interesting to see one being hit on stage.
If you have a chance to see either of these artist preform live, do, you won’t regret it.

Putt Putt in North Myrtle
Putt Putt in North Myrtle
Date Night!
It was really a spur of the moment thing after dinner but we didn’t want date night to end. So we decided to go Putt Putting in one of the MANY locations North Myrtle Beach has to offer.
So we went to ‘PROFESSOR HACKER’S LOST TREASURE GOLF’
They offer a locals discount but you have to ask, although I think we only got $2 off. It’s not the cheapest place but it was worth the money.…

It’s beginning to look a lot like christmas.❄️⛄
This year was a much-needed vacation away from the stressful times of work. The week before christmas felt the most stressful of all of 2018 with trying to make all our plans work for the holiday. Family and friends coming in from out-of-state and the fact that I’m changing jobs. The friday before christmas was my last day at Coastal Carolina University, a bittersweet moment because my coworkers were like family to me but I’m excited for my new Graphic Design job.
I started getting too stressed with trying to plan all the back and forth of who to visit but I’m really glad his parents rented a beach house in Carolina Beach. It’s only two hours away from where we live in North Myrtle but it’s far enough away to feel like a mini vacation.
David’s sister just had a baby, which was the deciding factor on the location of the house. I’m a bit weird near newborns and am always afraid to hold one, for fear I’m going to do something wrong so here is a photo of the parents holding her and David.
So far it’s been a trip full of laughter, drinks, family stories and christmas movies. David and I took a walk on the beach near the boardwalk which was nice, he found some pretty shells and I found a WHOLE Welch shell! which is pretty rare to find since most are broken or are super small, and mine was huge.
I hit him with the sneak attack photo, he doesn’t think it’s a flattering shot but I’m posting it anyways.
Right now I’m currently on the couch waiting for Christmas breakfast to be ready, we are having bacon, eggs and CHOCOLATE AND GRAVY BISCUITS, which apparently is an Arkansas staple. The trip isn’t over but I’m going to post a few more pics.
❄️I hope you’re having a very Merry Christmas.❄️

It’s been a bittersweet day today, but God gave me a sign driving home today to let me know I made the right choice. Today was my last day at CCU and I’m going to miss my work family so much but I’m excited to start my new job as a Graphic Designer. I think this double rainbow 🌈 was made for me. God made a rainbow to signal then end of a trial and the start of something good. So I think a double rainbow must mean something even better. Here’s to a new beginning. 🥂 https://www.instagram.com/p/Brqlq5EhJRh/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1mnfuv5469dig

Macrame DIY
This was my frist attempt at a hand done macrame. I have friends in college that did a lot of loom work and weaving that were recently giving me lots of inspiration on their Instagram accounts. I wanted to make something with yarn to hand on my walls but not as detailed as real weaving, so I found this idea online of making simple tassels to hang. The best part about making something yourself is…

more pics here
She got torn up by a boat propeller off New South Wales in 2001 and proceeded to walk it off. Swim it off. Whatever. The scars from the propeller slices healed ~20cm deep down her back and across her tail fluke. Since then, whale watchers down under look for “the Blade Runner” every year. Just the sight of her starts conversations about whether we humans should reconsider being such gigantic floppy penises to our rad cetacean bros.
nobody will ever be harder core than the Blade Runner. She has surpassed badassery.
She is unkillable. She is Life Goals: the Whale.
