Husband!Zayne who comes home from work at the hospital only to find you curled up on the couch hugging a pillow to your stomach. The TV is on playing a movie but is being completely ignored, your eyes squeezed shut in excruciating pain.

Husband!Zayne who immediately drops his coat and belongings by the door and rushes to you side to see what’s the matter. He kneels down by the couch and rests his hand on your arm. Your body temperature was slightly higher than usual, and your breathing was a bit unsteady.

Husband!Zayne, being the amazing doctor that he is, takes note of all these factors, including the discarded hot water bottle on the other end of the couch and the open bottle of pain killers on the table. He quickly takes out his phone and checks his calendar before his eyes soften and he sighs.

“Did your period start today, hon?” he asks, brushing a couple strands of hair out of your face. Your eyes are still squeezed shut in pain as you silently nod, small and pathetic whimpers of pain escaping your pursed lips. “Zayneeee….” you softly call for him as he gets up.

“Don’t worry my love, I’m here.” he says before pressing a soft, tender kiss to your forehead. He leaves you on the sofa to quickly wash up and prepare some food for you, since he knows you probably haven’t eaten all day. Whenever you were on your period, your a petite was practically nonexistent.

Husband!Zayne basically has a whole protocol for when your time of the month comes around. He’ll always have your favorite snacks or treats on hand for you to munch on. Normally, as a doctor he would advise against these snacks because their nutritional content wasn’t very high. But as your husband, he knows it’s rare for you to want to eat anything when your stomach is so sensitive, so he makes an exception.

Husband!Zayne will make you food and make sure you eat the whole serving so you’re not going to bed on an empty stomach. He’d carry you from your fetal position on the couch all the way back to bed and substitute himself for your heating pad.

Husband!Zayne usually lets you get away with a lot when you’re on your period because he knows with your hormone fluctuations any little thing might push you the wrong way, but if you’re being stubborn about how often you can take your pain killers or about not eating he’ll put his foot down and do into full on doctor mode.

Husband!Zayne who, again, is very mindful of your mood swings so he doesn’t push you when you don’t feel like talking or aren’t really in the mood to do anything. Sometimes, on the worst days of your period, he’ll take the day off and the two of you will just sit in bed together in comfortable silence. He could be reading a book while you lay in his lap and he runs the fingers of his free hand through your hair, or maybe you’ll watch a comfort movie together wrapped up under blankets.

Husband!Zayne would always know what to do when you’re on your period and you’re so grateful to him for it.
